The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in The Vale of Glamorgan South East

Was pretty excited to come here after seeing so many great reviews. Food was nice, the mains were gorgeous. Chef is lovely and asked how we found the food, clearly is very talented. The brownie dessert was heated up but possibly too long as it was quite chewy and tough suggesting it’s been over heated. Let down by the service front of house sadly, didn’t feel very welcomed or very friendly and I felt uncomfortable at times. Not sure if it was just an ‘off’ night.

A True Gem in Penarth! I absolutely love everything on the menu at Keyif Restaurant, but their pirzola (lamb chops) is my absolute favorite! Perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor—every bite is a delight. Beyond the incredible food, the hospitality and service are always top-notch, creating a welcoming and enjoyable culinary experience. Whether it’s a casual meal or a special night out, Keyif never ever disappoints. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious, authentic food in Penarth!

Recently my husband and I met friends who booked a table at The Lighthouse for Sunday lunch. The restaurant is a part of Barry Yacht Club and is located near to Jackson Bay (wonderful quiet beach). We arrived 45 minutes early, so we sat outside in the beer garden and enjoyed some quality time together admiring the seaview. Our table was ready at the allocated time and we moved inside. The restaurant was immaculate with tasteful decor. There was a great family friendly atmosphere and the restaurant was very busy. Our orders were taken by a friendly, professional member of staff. For the mains myself and my husband both ordered the lamb, my friend selected the vegetarian wellington and her husband had beef. The food was nicely presented and was served with a tremendous variety of vegetables including baby carrots, broccoli, mashed vegetables, peas, green beans and leek. The roast potatoes were absolutely delicious and I was cheeky enough to ask for an extra one. The Yorkshire pudding was perfect and the meal was nicely finished with a fantastic homemade gravy. The quality of the meat really stood out, it was beautifully cooked, nicely flavoured, perfectly carved and tasted fantastic. Once we finished the main course washed down with a bottle of wine we browsed the dessert menu. Ample time was left in between courses and I ordered the cheesecake, my husband had ice-cream and our friends both had chocolate fudge cake. The desserts were the perfect size and tasted exquisite. Throughout our meal we received excellent customer service and our meals were very good value for money. We really can't wait to visit again especially as there was a fantastic menu covering all.meals including breakfast, lunch and evening meals. There were also a childrens menu available.

Booked for lunch and our meal was good, tasty , well seasoned. Friendly staff, good service .....the only thing that let the experience down were the deserts , the smallest sliver . At its widest it was only one inch wide , cost £16 for two minute slices of tart, very poor value , shame everything else was good .

Absolutely love this place, classy decor, delicious food and attentive service.. Chicken fillets barbados were delicious .. Had a bottle of rose cava, which was different to the usual house one, not great...pretty tasteless for £37...but will still return, as everything else is gorgeous Restaurant is beautifully decorated, so a great place for a festive meal

Locale con stile e arredo che se poteva andar bene 50 anni fa é ora decisamente superato sicuramente non elegante e tantomeno raffinato Al piano terra si avverte entrando un forte odore di pesce e trovo la cosa poco gradevole cibo assolutamente deludente: il pesce da me scelto ( sogliola Dover) sembrava decongelato senza sapore consistenza stopposa e asciutta per la modica cifra per il solo pesce di 47 sterline!!!!! Conto finale elevato assolutamente non adeguato a quello che è il locale e alla qualità del cibo Aggiungo ( per dare l’idea dello “stile”del locale) che eravamo ancora seduti a tavola in 4 persone e una cameriera si é presentata con in mano uno straccio umido e ha pulito il tavolo ( che è senza tovaglia e sottopiatto…..) in modo molto sommario girando intorno a bicchieri e bottiglia e lasciando comunque macchie di cibo Per finire: nel pomeriggio ho cominciato ad avere nausea, che è durata tutta la sera e la notte, non ho cenato, ho solo bevuto tisane La mia recensione è del tutto sincera semplicemente ho cercato di motivare il voto basso attribuito a questo ristorante dove l’unica nota positiva è la vista mare

Myself and my partner ate here last night for my birthday. Our waitress was Monica who was attentive and advised us impeccably with our food choices. Her service skills were exemplary. The ambience was on point as usual and the food, consisting of fresh ingredients, was flawless. Benoir runs a very tight ship and is a total professional. We could not give any of the experience less than 5 stars. We will be back.
