The best restaurants serving Italian food in Basingstoke and Deane South East

I knew that this pub was under new management and my friend had recently been here and said the meal was good so I thought I would invite me friends for dinner, I was not disappointed, the service, food and cosiness of the pub was excellent and would return, I had to trout and crumble and it was delicious and could of done with some more custard. Freddie who took our order and served us was exceptionally professional and funny too. Only minor point is when we were going in from the back it looked like it could do with a bit of love and pretty flowers. Look forward to returning maybe in the autumn when the fire is on.

Had a fantastic meal celebrating friends 40th. Staff were so friendly and attentive even taking my coat off for me. What a gent. Food was delicious so so tasty. Highly recommend

Family of 12 for lunch. Food was amazing and with excellent service. Thankyou Chef Anita for cutting our birthday cake. We definitely recommend Ask Italia Basingstoke and will come back.

Io e 15 amici siamo rimasti senza cena la sera di capodanno, nonostante avessimo prenotato inizio dicembre e tre giorni prima della data della prenotazione per confermare il numero di persone. Il “proprietario” grandissimo maleducato e cafone, ha insinuato che la nostra prenotazione fosse falsa, nonostante il fatto che gli avessimo fatto vedere le chiamate. Ci ha dato dei bugiardi, falsi non ammettendo il proprio sbaglio e addirittura urlandoci contro, per non parlare dell’atteggiamento PESSIMO che ha avuto nei confronti della ragazza che ha prenotato, un atteggiamento così nessuno dovrebbe avercelo con i clienti. Personale inqualificabile, proprietario pessimo. Spero non sia successo a nessun altro. Peccato che non si possono dare 0 stelle… Grazie per averci rovinato la cena di capodanno Non ci tornerò mai in quel posto. Non è un ristorante serio ma soprattutto con personale serio

I brought my daughter in today for lunch as a treat, as she's never been to zizzis before. We were sat quickly and our waitress Andrea took our order. I was a little indecisive on what to choose and Andrea made a suggestion for the pizza choice. Let's say she wasn't lying when she said it was really good. I enjoyed every bite. The garlic bread with caramelised onion which she also recommended was truly delicious too. She aslo bought over some crayons and a worksheet for my daughter which she really liked, it filled the gap before our meal arrived. Really impressed by the whole service, Even my daughter commented on how friendly and kind our waitress was. It's clear she works very hard to provide a great service. We will definitely return!!

We had pre booked a table for 13 people and were told this wouldn't be a problem as long as we pre ordered, which we did. We arrived for our food and encountered many problems. 1) a meal which was pre ordered had been sold out the day before! It was pre-order so surely you keep a portion aside? Also... From 24 hours previous. So the meal served would have been old!? Certainly not fresh food you are paying for. 2) the server offered no apologies or other options and became very defensive. 3) asked for a plate of chips or fries instead... They don't do chips!! 4) asked for an orange juice... They don't do orange juice. All that happened to ONE person! 5) when asking if we can use blue light discount we were declined multiple times and our server said she would get the manager. The manager came over and didn't address the people with the blue light card just quietly said "no, it's on our website it can't be used for parties more then 6". I can guarantee it wasn't on their website or on the blue light T&C, or written anywhere in the restaurant. 6) my pasta was hot in some places, cold in others... Someone call chef mike! 7) the hygiene was TERRIBLE! I saw a server sneeze into her hand...not hand gel or wash them then proceed to touch trays and tea towels and plates! Other servers were using their fingers to plate up dessert (from Tupperware!) and not washing their hands. 8) when paying we once again repeated our comments about the blue light card and how they can't decline it as their terms and conditions don't state anything about booking size. Our server said she would talk to the manager again. This time the manager didn't speak to us, stopped over to the till and huffed to the server "fine I've done it". On top of this we had to pay a "mandatory" service charge of £35 for a large booking! I can't believe we paid it when they certainly didn't earn it. At no point were apologies offered, the team acted like we were being too much trouble when they weren't even trying leading to a lot of frustration. I work in a service industry and would never treat clients in such a way. TLDR; Poor service and poor attitude, food poor to average, terrible hygiene. 0/10 would recommend.

food is consistently delivered quickly, pizza is always great, friendly drivers, sides are pretty good, quality exceeds the price one of my favourites!

Absolutely Outstanding service, I ordered two pizza's for delivery, one standard and one build your own. When they arrived I had two standard pizza's, I called to explain and was told that this is what I had ordered! I checked an sure enough I had ordered two standard ones? I had two windows open on my desktop which must have caused the issue. The guy on the phone was kind enough to send out a build your own pizza straight away for no extra charge, a genuine mistake that I had caused. First class service, Thank you
