Visited Ponte Nuovo on 26th February with family. Had not been for quite a while, but was still as good as ever. Staff, particularly Roland, were fantastic and food was amazing. Experience was enjoyed by us all. Will be back again soon. Thank you.

We have stopped here for lunch a few times on our way back from a cycle ride in the North Downs as it is the best option between Leith Hill and Teddington. For history buffs the church just across the road is where Barnes-Wallis is buried.

We visited Baggati's with my husband on a busy weekend afternoon for a quick lunch. Since we had other commitments that day, we expected a swift meal, but unfortunately, it took over two hours, which was frustrating—had we known, we would have canceled. I want to start by mentioning that I used to dine at this restaurant almost weekly with friends many years ago. After moving to a different area, I hadn't been back in a long time, but my expectations remained high. Back then, I was never disappointed with the quality of their food, so I assumed this visit would be no different. However, I was completely wrong and deeply disappointed. First, the restaurant looks incredibly outdated, as if no one cares about the interior, the bar area, or even the toilets—which were horrendous. On the day of our visit, there were only two waiters struggling to manage everything: serving drinks, taking orders, greeting customers, and delivering food. It’s not their fault that they were understaffed, but waiting nearly 30 minutes just to get a bottle of water was ridiculous. To make matters worse, the bar was cluttered with empty, unappetizing glasses, making the place look even more unkempt. After an extensive wait for our starters, we realized ordering main dishes had been a mistake—but at that point, it was too late. The garlic bread and octopus were passable but nothing special. My main dish was seafood pasta, while my husband ordered the lamb shank. My pasta lacked seasoning entirely—no salt, no flavor. The seafood selection was decent, but the wilted wild rocket on top was off-putting. Given that the restaurant claims to make its own pasta, I expected a far better dish. My husband’s lamb was even worse—tough, bland, and completely lacking seasoning. I understand that people have different tastes when it comes to seasoning, but absolutely no salt on one of the most expensive dishes on the menu is unacceptable. By that point, we were in disbelief at how much the quality had declined. Our takeaway pizza wasn’t any better—the dough tasted mediocre at best. It’s disheartening for me to write such a negative review, as I have fond memories of this place from years ago. The pastas and homemade desserts used to be outstanding, the service was impeccable, and it was once the best place to eat in Croydon, offering both great food and a friendly atmosphere. I used to recommend this restaurant to others, but now I regret doing so. I wish I had returned sooner to see what it had become. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back—what a shame!
