The atmosphere & care of the husband & wife, as owners, are caring & very attentive. The food & beverages (etc) are heavenly in taste and in their prices. You see regular customers (especially families) in their resprctive times to come & go. This place is a lovely deli. There are plates of pasta for around £7.50. We stopped for a quick glass of red (£4.50) on a nice afternoon and was perfect. You can pick up Italian brands of pasta, biscuits, olive oil, vinegar, wine, sauces and more. There's also a fresh counter with meats, cheeses and fresh bread

My partner and I moved to the area recently and popped into this deli for a pasta lunch which was delicious, and frankly, underpriced. The store is wonderful with a large selection of items of good quality. We decided to make it our go to deli and now regularly pop in for cold cut meats, cheese, bread, olives and sun dried tomatoes. We love it! The proprietors are wonderful, the prices are more than reasonable given the quality, and you get the pleasure of supporting a small community business. Honestly cannot recommend enough! A big thank you to the team at La Spezia, we appreciate all your recommendations, pointers and advice. Can't wait to get started on your wine!

I didn't know what I was missing out on! We've lived in the area for 5 years now but have moved closer to this deli just last month. What a game changer!!! We've been in for lunch - I had an aubergine dish and my partner, a pasta dish. They we're ridiculously cheap for what it was! Spoke to the lady running it ( very friendly and must get her name the next time I go), they're very generously waiting until the current term ends to raise their prices (which I hope they do, I don't want them to have to close down!) As they get a lot of traffic from students for lunch. We also go almost weekly now for deli meats and other home cooking items. I've Italian-American family in New York and what an absolute treat to find quality deli meats over here to recreate favourite sandwiches! Such a wonderful addition to the community.

I so enjoyed & looked forward to visiting & eating here, it’s been our go to place for real authentic Italian homemade food, not anymore . It is now under new management/ownership & oh dear no SOUP & a pricing policy that beggars belief £9:90 for a focaccia ham salad. I’ve been eating at La Spezia for over 15 years & have always been happy with the quality & never balked at the price. But today liberties were taken. And trying to justify this by saying it was the most expensive ham used , REALLY. I don’t like complaining or leaving negative reviews but felt very disappointed especially since we had been visiting & eating from this place for the last 15 years. GOODBYE. La Spezia.

Having not been here for a while, I decided to pop in to grab a lunch treat. I tried an parmigiana di melanazane which was reasonably priced at £5.50. It was lovely. I highly recommend coming here for all of your Italian needs and for a treat or two.

This little place stocks such a variety of Italian produce including cakes, olives and sandwiches. They have an excellent selection of pasta and when all the supermarkets had run out of De Cecco during lockdown 1.0, I found what I needed here. It’s a tiny shop but they have used the space well and the staff are always friendly and on hand to help.

I had often passed this place without ever going in - a matter rectified a couple of months ago. This is a very traditional place in the good sense of the word. A shop full of Italian delights on sale (great olive oils, olives, pastas and other things ‘Italian’). The food smells delicious and there is only one table at which to sit. When I have time, I will try the soup and sandwich combo but in the meantime I will continue to frequent this place for a coffee and my Italian shopping (a great range of dried pastas as well as meats behind the counter) and enjoy a trip in time to a world that is largely lost.

I popped in here with my mum, as I'd always been curious about this place. They serve freshly made sandwiches, pasta, salad, cannolis, Italian produce and various other bits and pieces. I decided to get a chocolate brownie and 2 different flavoured cannolis of pistachio and lemon. Everything was delicious - especially the brownie which I heated up at home. I would like to try their hot food one day.

This place is brilliant. If you just want a coffee or a sandwich to sitting in for some pasta or just going in to get olives, tomato and mozzarella to takeaway it’s a must. Stocks a good variety of Italian produce to buy also.
