The best restaurants serving Indian food in North East Scotland

A good restaurant with kind and friendly staff. Food was excellent and venue very relaxing. It was my first time and i will come back.

We are frequently tempted to try other Indian restaurants in the area however any time we've done it, inc Aberdeen, we always regret it. Spice of Life has been the best restaurant in the area for some time now and judging by our most recent visit will hold the title for a while yet. Our meal last night was perfect in every respect. We were a 4some and seated in a booth, had a degree of privacy. Starters of a chicken tandoori, a mixed platter and chicken panoramic arrived quickly and beautifully presented as we've become accustomed to, it all tasted just as good as it looked, fantastic. Mains were chicken Chettinade, Dahnsak, Jalfrezi and Bhoona were all stunning, a pilau rice, coconut rice, peshwari and Masala Naan completed the feast. Empty dishes and plates told the story... Great value, efficient and friendly staff, on site car parking make a fantastic experience. We might continue to try other restaurants, we will always return here.

Great food fast delivery. Chilli chips are a must if you like spice 🥵Kashmiri korma and mushroom rice delicious 😋 chicken and Brie pakoras amazing ordered some mango chutney to go with them 👍

Great food, reasonable prices, no complaints. A 5 minute drive from my house to collect and friendly staff. Would buy food there again.

Food took 2 and a half hours to be delivered with an expected delivery time of 1 hour and when it did arrive it was cold and not what we ordered. We called several times and no effort was made to resolve the issue just reassurances the driver had left and was just driving slow. I could walk to the restaurant in 20 minutes never mind an hour and a half drive. Food needed to be reheated in the micro wave and chips in the air fryer to be edible as it arrived cold. We also received the wrong curry and naan bread. I would recommend you try somewhere else.

On a frosty day in Invernuie, with temperatures plummeting to an icy -11 degrees, two Indians on the hunt for a taste of home stumbled upon a hidden culinary gem. Despite the biting cold outside, the warmth and authenticity of the experience inside made it a day to remember. The meal began with an unexpected delight: a poppadum tray that was far from ordinary. The poppadums were fresh, crisp, and perfectly prepared—an instant standout. Accompanying them were chutneys that were vibrant and flavorful, a clear testament to quality. Unlike the watered-down, overly commercialized versions often encountered, these chutneys were rich, saucy, and bursting with authentic taste. As the meal unfolded, the fantastic food and thoughtful service only elevated the experience further. Every dish was a reminder of home, prepared with care and attention to detail. The staff’s warmth and attentiveness made the visit even more memorable, leaving no doubt about their commitment to quality. Invernuie may have been frozen over that day, but this restaurant radiated a comforting warmth and authenticity that made it a true standout. It’s safe to say this gem is worth revisiting—not just for the food, but for the experience as a whole.

Only ever had take away but the food is always excellent, can thoroughly recommend.

Food was amazing. We were there for Christmas Day, so it was a set menu. We have 2 picky eaters, and they both found something they loved. Service was a bit slow, but they were packed and possibly short staffed. Have been several times since original review and is still fantastic.

We had a lovely meal again last night to celebrate our anniversary. The staff are so attentive and helpful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes superb Indian food and has not tried it.

We had a fantastic time together as a family reunion at this Indian restaurant, the food was excellent, the service was also really good. We ordered different plates and everything was really good and tasty. Fully recommended

Hice un pedido en línea con Just Eat temprano en la tarde del 31 de diciembre para entrega a las 7 pm. El pedido fue reconocido por el restaurante a las 5. 30 pm y alrededor de 6 . 50 pm el sitio de Just Eat se actualizó que la comida estaba en camino. A las 8 de la tarde todavía no había entrega, entró en el sitio de Just Eat para avisar que la entrega se había retrasado, recibió un texto un par de minutos después para avisar que se entregaría a las 8 . 15 pm. A las 9 de la noche la comida todavía no había sido entregada y a pesar de llamar al restaurante más de 30 veces no respondieron su teléfono o la línea estaba ocupada. Mi amiga Louise terminó llevándonos al restaurante para que nos dijeran que la comida estaba en camino. Me dieron una botella de vino para disculparme y empujé hacia la puerta para que nos fuéramos. Ahora son alrededor de las 9. 30 pm y les dijimos que no nos íbamos ya que el restaurante cierra a las 10 pm y no habría manera de obtener nuestra comida entonces! Les dijimos que los llamamos numerosas veces, pero no contestamos ni las líneas estaban ocupadas y él hizo gestos hacia 6 teléfonos en la barra, Louise llamó al restaurante justo en frente de su cara y ninguno de los teléfonos sonó! Un señor mayor llamó al repartidor que dijo que iba de camino a la mía después de su siguiente entrega. Llegamos a la mía a las 9 . 40 pm y el conductor estaba 10 minutos después de nosotros. 2 x poppadoms, ensalada y mi plato de ajo de chile vegetal faltaban y la comida estaba fría. También cuando estuvimos allí, un muchacho entró para averiguar dónde estaba su pedido, ¡se suponía que debía entregarse a las 5 pm! Nunca volveré a usar este restaurante. Una pena que el servicio solía ser muy bueno.

firstly it was freezing cold and the prawn korma was like dishwater and only 6 prawns and no salad with the starters for the price of it not worth it
