Spice Of Life in Aberdeenshire

My wife and I use Spice of Life fairly regularly and are never disappointed. Food is very well presented, great taste and attentive service. My wife especially likes the Labradab Chicken while I either have the Lamb chops or the Lamb Bhuna. I also recommend the garlic naan. It's light, slightly crispy and well seasoned. Last Saturday it was the perfect pick-me-up after a disappointing football result.

This place is a gem. I've had indian cuisine all over the UK and this restaurant, hands down is the best food I've ever tasted. People of inverurie, do you know how lucky you are ?

We were struggling to find anywhere for our intended lunch of soup and a sandwich and spotted the thali menu. Place ticked all of the boxes. Parking behind the restaurant, elegant decor, lovely waiter and seriously tasty food. Menu was way out of the ordinary. Can't rate the atmosphere as, surprisingly, we were the only people there. I hope that Inverurie appreciates what it has

It's a lot of years since we last visited but now that we have moved back to the area, this is certain to be a more regular restaurant to visit. Food was excellent, service couldn't be faulted and the whole experience was 2nd to none. Great value, great choice, we will be back soon.

We had a great experience and meal. Maverick was our waiter, and thank you for a potted history of the business & chefs. The poppadoms and sauces were very nice. Loved the spicy onions. The Gobi Manturian starter was the best I have had in years.👏 Our mains were so tasty and lots of meat & sauce Staff are friendly & helpful. Great service and atmosphere Definitely will return and try a takeaway in the future.

Was pleasantly surprised to find this authentic Indian restaurant of all the places in Inverurie and the food taste, prices and authenticity to my surprise was much better than a lot of Indian restaurants in London. To top it up their service is extremely good, personalised treatment, especially to match Indian taste - spicy etc, chef is Indian and staff is extremely efficient, they offer catering services for big events like birthdays etc, reasonably priced. Pre book during weekends, can be busy at times.

Staff are amazing here! Lovely people, none of the 6 of us could finish our food, so they packed everything up individually and labelled it all individually what was way more then a normal restaurant would bother with. Would 100% go again!

We visited the restaurant yesterday. The vibes were really great!!! The food served was piping hot and fresh. We also liked the platings of dishes and ambience are lovely. They serve variety of veg and non veg options along with delicious salad and desserts. Overall the service is great and would love to visit again. Kudos to one of the telugu owner and chef.

Absolutely delicious food with a warm atmosphere. Curries were unique and flavourful with plenty of options. Service was exceptional and each meal was top-notch—I highly recommend!

Delicious food , very near to fine dining, not regular Indian cooking, normally indian restaurant make big pot of sauce whenever we order curry, they pour that sauce then mix the masala but this restaurant look different. All the naan bread are crispy and tasty. Garlic rice is exceptional, Recommend, worth for your money . ✅ please serve more salad for the customers.

presentation 10/10 service 7/10 food 6/10 price 1/10 atmosphere 5/10 cleaness 10/10 The food was well overpriced, they came over said would u like poppadoms... yes please. .. 5 ? yes please. then on reciept been charged £5 . and charged £1.80 for chutneys.... I wasn't asked do you want to order poppadoms.. I wasn't meantioned cutneys .... cokes were £3.10 each . and were cans opened at the till . Hooe not multi pack. felt robbed butter chicken and tikkas were 12.95 each . about 5 bite size chicken bites and far to much sauce to make it look more. rice is an extra 4.95 also , so £18 nearly for just a curry and rice . add one poppadom £19, and add 1 coke that's £22 for 1 person!! service on entering wasn't much special . compared to the local Chinese restaurant. when in the Chinese returant we were greated with smiles and appreciation. the actual service at table was quiet and to be honest not that friendly . the bill for 5 of us, mum and dad and 3 teens just shy of £150 !! biggest bill we have ever had :( 😞 I guess check 2023 menu .... not old ones ... Worked out £29.69 each Not coming back thanks .. no way

My husband and I had a delightful meal at Spice of Life on Monday, the best Indian food we've had in years, from the crispiest popadoms to the most flavoursome curry. Everything was impeccable. Now I plan to go back for the lunchtime thali.

Appetisers and starters were nice. The main curries we had were too sweet for our tastes. But it was a nice restaurant with good service.

Haven't experienced a curry meal of this quality in a long time. I will definitely revisit when I'm back in this neck of the woods. Vegetable Samosa's, Chicken Tikka Byriani with Keema naan and Pistachio Kufti I can highly recommend.

Working in the area today and just called in for dinner. Fantastic food. I consider myself a bit of a curry connoisseur - living in Leicestershire and spoilt for choice in fine Indian cuisine but this is up there with the best and probably the finest curry I have had for over ten years. Very well balanced - spice, sweetness, texture all to perfection.

We were on a holiday trip to Scotland We found out one of the best place to dine in INDIAN RESTAURANT ( SPICE OF LIFE ) very recommended must try every dish we ordered we enjoyed a lot. Proper INDIAN FRIED RICE. With a very peaceful environment. Very nice staff. Welcoming overwhelming. Thanks to the chef. See you soon. Will definitely come again.

Had a carry out phoned at midday then pick up at 5pm (evening opening time) was looked after very well food ready 10min was excellent really tasty all the dishes were spot on lovely will be back next time visiting our friends.

Outstanding every single time. Food cooked perfectly, full of flavour, portion sizes you cannot complain about at all. Complimentary large bottle of juice or wine also if you have a bit carry out order. Highly recommended.

Quality restaurant from start to finish. Nice ambience, clean linen, professional staff, oh and the food is fantastic. Loads of creative and expertly spiced dishes for us vegetarians. We have been a couple of times in the past month and enjoyed some great dishes, especially a paneer makhani, a vegetable madras and a vegetable dhansak. Naan bread generous and lots of rice choices. Good wine selection, plus cobra beer and even a non-alcoholic beer if needed. Top marks.

We had an awesome mixed starter to share and then our main dishes were as delicious. Super place that catered for us at a walk in on a Saturday night. Loads of friendly staff that were very welcoming and very attentive. The Malbec was delicious also. Highly recommend this place if close to Inverurie. Phone in advance for booking though as we just missed the rush and were very lucky to be fed. 👍👌😋

Popped in during the evening while exploring Inverurie and was blown away by the quality and speed of the food. We were well taken care of and both of us stuff ourselves until we had to roll out the door. Very affordable and quality was excellent, will be back!

Fantastic Indian food and great service. Went in with a party of 6 and were very well taken care of. The staff was attentive and mindful of when the food was coming out to make sure we could eat together, and accommodating for our party. Not to mention, everyone’s food was delicious! We are so lucky to have such a high calibre Indian restaurant in Inverurie. The SoL certainly hits the high spots with excellent attentive service, and a terrific selection on the menu. There were three of us, and none of us disappointed. Can’t praise this place enough. Well done!

We popped in for a meal the night before attending a wedding. We wish we were staying longer and were able to return to this fabulous restaurant. Best Indian meal we've ever had. Staff were brilliant very friendly & professional. Would highly recommend.

Still the best place for Indian food in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire. Currys and Naaans out of this world and all the staff are incredibly friendly.

Was Bagpiping in Inverurie and looking for a place to eat.. I am absolutely delighted that I stumbled upon Spice Of Life. Do not go anywhere else!

Nice atmosphere, staff are very friendly and good was well presented and tasted great.

The best Indian meal we've had in Inverurie in a long time , food was incredibly tasty and beautifully presented and the service was fantastic , professional and discrete when required but always available , Have been told the staff from the Shahi Darbar at the Port are now the owners of the Spice and if so thats a huge plus for us as we loved the Darbar when it was open. Will definitely eat here again

The food is amazing here. Every dish I have ordered, either takeaway or dine in was excellent. I have chosen this as my main place to go for Indian cuisine. The prices are a little above average but not too expensive. But I suppose this is reflected in the quality of the food. Hence why the business is so busy.

First time visiting this restaurant, the experience was excellent. Furnishings and fitted were of a high standard, staff were friendly, accommodating and professional. Food was excellent best Indian meal we have had in a long time will definitely eat here again if we return to this area. However, North Wales is a long way to travel for an Indian meal. Thank you.

Always been one of our favourite Indian Restuarants. First time back since pandemic. Usual high standards of food , friendliness and immaculate cleanliness. The young student waiter was an excellent host.

Absolutely wonderful service and food. We let them know one of us couldn’t have milk and they couldn’t be more accommodating, letting us know which dishes they were bringing had milk in case we wanted to share and even changed the recipe of one of our dishes to remove the milk entirely. Amazing people and friendly service; had a joke or two with the waiters and the food was bought out quickly and fresh with them accommodating us taking home leftovers. Overall a wonderful experience and if I’m able to visit again before heading home I most certainly will!

My husband and I have just had one of the best Indian meals we have ever eaten. From the decor to the ambiance to the staff we could not fault it. We recently moved from Edinburgh which has many Indian restaurants but the food at Spice of Life is truly exceptional. We will be back , often I suspect.

Really good food and fantastic service

We first used this place a couple of months ago and have since been back twice for takeaway. I cannot more highly recommend the friendly service, but most of all the food. The food was absolutely fantastic; fresh meat, so tasty and dressed in the best sauces and spices. Highly recommend.

Recently we have ordered food from here, a week ago for my wife's birthday. It wont be justified if we do not proudly recommend their fresh food. We have enjoyed the mouth watering perfectly balanced spiced Reshmi kabab, Lamb sheesh Kabab which went so well with king size chilli garlic naan. Very generous portion and not overpriced , thanks to spice of life for helping us to celebrate.We can't wait to order again.

The food was good but not great, and the service was definitely not as attentive as it used to be. Carpark could do with the pothole/puddles filled in.

Came here with my husband for lunch . Been before on many occasions but have to say this was the worst! Portions were very small and lacked any taste whatsoever. This place has gone down hill won’t be back I’m afraid

Saturday evening visit with friends, restaurant very busy and we did expect to have a bit of a wait for our food. However, the staff were not attentive at all, we waited almost an hour for a main course and were not offered drinks during this time, no apology when the food did arrive. The food was really tasty and we all enjoyed it but would hesitate to return based on the poor service. The emphasis seemed to be on take away trade rather then restaurant customers.

Been coming here for years, and realise I’ve never stopped to say thanks. I am a fussy eater but am always looked after well. Food is fresh, beautifully presented, and consistently delicious. You can’t go wrong here - whether eating in or collecting to go, you’ll be well looked after here.
