The ambience and decor creates a wonderful dining experience, matched by the excellent customer service and hygiene. Im still relishing the mouth-watering taste of the soft subtle flavours, infused into the tenderness of our meal. The aroma, lingers as a reminder of fine cuisine brought together at an affordable price. Definitely on my favourites to be visited again.

We ordered a takeaway on 30th July, whilst we were staying on a canal boat in Birmingham. Despite £82.73 being taken as payment, I received the following email. "We're currently extremely busy and sadly, we can't process your order right now, which means we had to decline it. You could try ordering again in about 30-45 minutes, but we understand that this may be too late for you. We sincerely apologize and understand how annoying this must be for you. Your payment will be automatically refunded within the next 4 working days, depending on your payment method. Thank you for your understanding and patience. We look forward to serving you in the future." It's now 9th August and I haven't been refunded.

I'd been out with a group of chums to see "Dune: Part 2" (oh, and I have opinions about THAT!) and fancied something appropriately spicy afterwards: The spice must flow! We chose Rumana's on a recommendation from a friend's sister, and I'm glad we did. Their website says they "pride ourselves in treating our customers like members of our family", and it really felt like we were old friends visiting someone's home (especially with the well-behaved kids scooting around and being generally delightful - and I don't even like kids!) I think we were served by Rumana herself, and she was welcoming and helpful - a real pleasure to meet someone so engaged and enthusiastic about their restaurant, and being a great host. The other staff were also very polite and helpful, and knowledgable about the menu. Speaking of which: The menu has a selection of dishes which seem unusual and possibly unique to this restaurant. I won't go into too much detail about my friends' dishes, but all were given the thumbs up. The poppadoms came out first, of course, but the accompanying sauces need some props: Their chili-sauce-gravy thing was incredible (I almost asked if I could take some home). Most curry / balti restaurants in Brum seem to have their own 'red sauce' and it's not often one stands out as being extra-special and worthy of a paragraph of review: This was one of those special sauces. Spicy, tangy (tamarind?), thick, and with a huge amount of flavour. Well done, chef! For a starter, I had Shunamoti: I've never had a cheesy chicken tikka omelette before, but I will certainly have it again (and probably learn to make it at home). Very unusual, and very tasty. for my main, I decided to opt for something at the spicy end of the scale, and had to ask about the story behind "What the Bloody?!" (yes, that is what it is called) - no spoilers! You'll have to find out yourself. It warranted three chilis on the menu (not the hottest thing they serve), but this was a home-cooking 3 chilis and was at the top end of my spice tolerance (which is quite high), so be warned! I can recommend the mango lassi as a wonderful 'control rod' for the naga reaction. However: The dish was not just hot for the sake of being hot, but had a real depth of flavour, too. The accompanying roti was fluffy, fresh and hot. I am also reliably informed that their Peshawari Naan is one of the best my friend had ever had (and they lived in India for a while), drizzled with honey and with juicy sultanas embedded within. The restaurant is unlicensed, but there is a small shop over the road where you can buy booze if you need to. It's also next door to a 'Spoons if you want pre- or post-curry cask ales. Overall, a great experience. Northfield seems to be THE place for getting something authentic, unusual, and very tasty these days (I reviewed the equally excellent Omar Khayam a few weeks ago). I'll be back to explore the rest of the menu at some point: I definitely need to try the Atomic Chips!

I have to say I question the genuineness of some of the reviews on here, we ordered a takeaway at the cost of £35 and had 3 tikka curries 1 house special 1 lamb and 1 chicken all with rices. Previous tikka curries I have had from other establishments have had red coloured sauces these were brown and all 3 curries were very salty. My son couldn’t eat his and it went in the bin however as we had waited an hour and were hungry and hate waste although not enjoyable myself and my partner ate ours. The so called lamb in my curry was so tough it tasted more like beef thank god there wasn’t much of it. Needless to say we won’t be ordering from there again

Food and service excellent. You gotta try the chicken 45 starter... It's bangin! Pricing is reasonable too. Best I've had for a while.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! It serves delicious food which is made freshly on-site. There is a nice range of food on the menu and it is very good value. The owner is very friendly and polite. It is also family friendly - has high chairs, a changing table and a ramp for easy access. I highly recommend.

The proverbial 'hole in the wall' restaurant with unbelievably tasty Punjabi food. We're back from five weeks in Europe, and, this was our best dining experience for the entire time. For 40 pounds we got several dishes with enough for another dinner at home a couple of days later. The whole family is involved and you can watch the food prep while you wait. This Birmingham neighborhood is a restaurant desert, fortunately, they have Sabi's!

This was a takeaway meal and I asked to have some adjustments. It was Harsh Kush (Duck) creamy with a bit of a kick. The amount of meat was perfect and the taste was amazing. I fully recommend this place.

The Emerald chicken is outstandingly good, but everything we've tried is a delight. The biryanis are flavourful and simply amazing. With every order we've placed, we've had a free taste of other items off the menu and it never disappoints. Highly recommended.

Beautiful food with a really extensive menu. We always have great service here and it’s our go to choice for a reliable curry in Sutton.

For the first time I bought a Christmas Cake. A, mazing. I have to buy one next year, moist, flavoursome m m m. And as for the bread, it was still warm, and smelt delicious. Much appreciated and thanks for all the hard work x
