Bloomsbury, Camden, 45-60£
09/04/2020: I've known about the Archipelago for a few years and have wanted to go ever since hearing about it. I was not disappointed and will not leave it so long before coming back again! It's a bit off the beaten track near Soho and is very exotically decorated. The presentation of the menu is a fun touch, and the food was thoroughly excellent. We shared the crispy zebra to start, followed by the alpaca for me and the kangaroo for my other half. The alpaca is a spicy pulled meat affair wrapped in a banana leaf and it was wonderful, but I have to say I think kangaroo is my new favourite meat. It was so tender and so brilliantly flavoured. We finished with the chocolate covered locusts for me (one of the main things I wanted to try) and the mediaeval hive honey dessert for the other half. I enjoyed the locusts although my partner did not, so they're definitely an acquired taste! The honey and brown butter dessert was enjoyed by both of us though, what we've concluded can only have been powdered honeycomb on the plate was just amazing. The service was so friendly and helpful, as well as being surprisingly fast. There's a 90 minute slot allocated to your booking, so if you finish a bit earlier than that, as we did, they don't try to rush you out. Utterly fantastic, I would seriously recommend giving this place a try, and not just for the novelty of eating exotic meats, the food is genuinely excellent. Not cheap, but definitely worth the money and I'm always happy to pay more for good food. We will be returning to sample more of their menu, hopefully in the not too distant future!

Wagamama - Leicester Square

St James's, City of London,Westminster, <20£
Aanrader!

Ding Dong

Upminster, Havering
17/06/2020: We had been to the restaurant once. Our visit was nice, food lovely. We mainly order takeaway which we pick up. Absolutely delicious. We had a chicken teriyaki bento, miso soups, veg dumplings and loads of sushi (grilled salmon). It was beautiful. Very nice food in general. I find it hard to find good sushi in UK... But this one is my favourite :)
23/02/2020: First visit on Friday night at 8.30 pm and to be honest eat the place was quite. Two young drink of house staff who were both excellent. Ordered in three stages as we wanted to try a variety of their dishes and really pleased we did as all of them were fabulous. Service was attentive without being overpowering and drinks came quite quickly when ordered. The price was reasonable as well and I have no reservation in recommending this place to you all!Enjoy Guys!

Saffron Kitchen

Lea Bridge, Waltham Forest, >100£
17/04/2020: These lovely people gave us free food today at St Thomas hospital intensive care unit. Not only was it thrilling to get some solid food in the middle of a tiring day at work, it was absolutely delicious rice with lentil stew and chicken curry. Thank you so much! God bless you all! Much more appreciate this gesture than the random clapping on the streets.
11/04/2020: I’m surprised by the reviews on SK. This restaurant is almost always fully booked in the evening and many customers are like us who return again and again. SK is a bit on the expensive side but saying that the portion sizes are pretty generous and we often eat well when we are there and have enough to take home for a second meal too. Parking - yes behind the restaurant Family friendly - yes they even have closed rooms/booths that can be booked for groups of more than 6Payer room - yes!! Mocktails and desserts - pretty good variety Seating for large families - they opened up the back for us when we went with around 25 of us and so were very accommodating Ramadan - closed Alcohol - no My honest review is that it can take a while to get seated as they are so busy, but the management makes every effort to take people in as soon as they can according to the time they arrived and their group size. You don’t have to wait outside in the cold as they have a large front area and so you can wait there. You can make the most of the wait by grabbing a drink or an ice cream. Once seated the waiters are pretty attentive considering how large the place is. The food is always sizzling hot and delicious. Yes during busy times you can feel a bit like you are packed in a large hall with the rest of the world but then that’s your choice. If you want a quieter experience you can visit on a weekday Monday to Thursday close to the opening time of 5pm - 6pm and there’s never been any wait for us. Overall I think SK is a lovely restaurant with great food that perhaps is a bit on the expensive side and is more of a treat rather than a regular place to take the family to eat. Nevertheless it’s still worth visiting for special occasions.

Camera Cafe & Bar

Holborn and Covent Garden, Camden
12/04/2016: There is quite a collection of cameras in the shop and a lending library and also a café and most of all the museum which is free entry.

The Providores

Marylebone High Street, City of London,Westminster, >100£
22/07/2019: Well it's such as shame The Providores and Tapa Room is coming to an end - lucky we booked for late July before it all ends. And what great food! We could not fault any dish (the mustard mash as slightly too salty for my liking) - but over all, three superb courses of food, a great venue as very good attentive service. Also great to see Peter Gordon was still working - will be great to see what Peter and his team does next!
21/07/2019: Poor service. Not one smile. Had Adv ocado on toast etc that lacked any flavour. Will not return. Yuck.

The Modern Pantry

Clerkenwell, Islington, 30-45£
26/03/2020: Stopped by for a spot of brunch, it was so good! The food we had was great and the drinks were lovely. The staff that looked after us were really nice too.

Hi Sushi Salsa

Camden Town with Primrose Hill, Camden, >100£
16/03/2020: I’ve walked past this place a few time’s in the past but I’ve never paid much attention to it. After a couple of drinks at a bar nearby on Saturday night my friend and I spontaneously decided to check it out. We were treated at the door instantly by friendly and attentive staff, who looked after us very well the entire time. Inside is a fun/cool authentic layout with sunken tables that contributed to a great vibe. Food was very decent. The only criticism is that they forgot one of the dishes we ordered (which was actually a good thing as we definitely over ordered), they didn’t attempt charge us for this dish. I’d go again to be honest!
10/03/2020: The food was terrible and overpriced .I didn’t like at all, the views was nice and the atmosphere was ok , nothing special.

Venue 5

Cavendish, Hillingdon, 30-45£
27/04/2020: Usually its good place but had a bad experience when I ordered take away during the lockdown. Had ordered take away from uber eats but the quality of the food was substandard. The naan looked and tasted like store bought. The currys were also tasted mediocre. Disappointed with the take away experience during lockdown.
07/03/2020: We had an absolutely lovely time at Venue 5 on a packed Friday evening. We were a group of 30 people and booked for set menu meals. We were given a very reasonable price with bottomless drinks. All throughout we were continually attended to and also offered numerous extra helpings of the dishes. Everybody in the group had a lovely night to remember and we finished off with great upbeat music on the dance floor. We will be back again ! Special thanks to manager Calston for making an enjoyable experience.

La Lluna

Fortis Green, Haringey, 45-60£
04/06/2020: We ordered (& picked up) a takeaway meal last night. We've never eaten in the restaurant, but we were after something special from a takeaway to celebrate an anniversary. We over ordered (which La Luna did tell us!), but the food was lovely and well presented (as well as it can be in a takeaway dish!). Food wise, the Octopus (Pulpo a la Gallaga) and Presa de Iberica were the stand out dishes very tender and flavoursome. The other dishes we ordered were salt cod croquettes, grilled chorizo, broccoli & tapenade, baked figs and quinoa salad. These were all delicious too.The only things that were slightly average were the dry tuna carpaccio (which was dry, but this is given away by the name, which I didn't pay any attention to). The gambas al ajillo only had 3 big king prawns and was nice but not amazing!Having eaten a lot of spanish food in London and in Spain, this is definitely up there. I'd be keen to try it in the restaurant, but based on the takeaway experience we will definitely be returning.
22/05/2020: We just had a very poor quality delivery from la Lluna which is v disappointing. The food had a strange taste and even stranger aftertaste. We had to dispose of it all.

blue zenzer

Northwick Park, Brent
18/02/2020: Birthday celebrations with friends. We arrived & seated next to a huge party even though the restaurant was quite empty (it had not long opened) but it was ok. I felt service was great, but it could have been more friendly. He wasn’t rude but we did feel at times a little rushed. When asked if we could have more time, he did give us this to us. Cocktails were fantastic! Food was delicious & really fresh. There were lots of family eating & I would say it’s a great place to take a family. Lots of parking. Nice decor & really clean. We will definitely be back.
06/02/2020: Went for a meal with a friend andwas a little disappointed. Food was ok, I have had better but also service was very slow. Staff could have been a bit more friendly. The place was busy when we initially arrived but pretty quiet after so they could have been a bit more helpful.

Holborn and Covent Garden, Camden
08/03/2020: Wagamama food over the years has become increasingly bland and tasteless. This is what happens when large chains try to cater to the masses. Ultimately you can't please everybody and so you end up pleasing nobody. I've been to a few Wagamama restaurants in my time and it caters for Mums with kids, lunchtime office outings, friends meeting up for a quick bite, and everyone in between. A business doesn't want to have to recook food because little Sebastian finds the katsu sauce too spicy. And so it is thus: The ramen is basically water with some ingredients, the curry sauces which are rich in colour are impoverished in taste, the dumplings - normally a sure-fire winner - are uninspiring pastes imprisoned in a wrap. You feel that Wagamama knows this at heart as there are condiments scattered everywhere. However even these don't really do the job - Wagamama could learn a few lessons from Nandos here by offering some options with a real punch. But it's easier to spice up a bit of chicken. No amount of chilli or soy sauce can bring a badly cooked Asian dish to life. i.e. you can't polish a turd. But you can roll it in chilli powder.

West End, City of London,Westminster, 45-60£
14/02/2020: I got a voucher for xmas present for 2 people for the venue. We turned up, it was quite empty so we were given a choice of where we wanted to sit. The place is quite quirky as it used to be a courtroom, The lighting did make it look a bit dingy. We ordered a 3 course meal. Me and my partner had a contrast in starters, I had stir fry chicken , which was such a small portion ( 3 small cubes of chicken ), yet my partner had smoked salmon, his portion was massive, with the cost I thought it would be the other way around. The mains and dessert were very nice and tasty. Service was good though a bit amateurish. So overall a nice experience, though whether I would come here without a voucher deal I'm not so sure.

Pop Art Sushi

Oval, Lambeth
31/07/2018: Being someone who eats a lot of sushi I was bit disappointed with the overall quality and is overly priced. When booking over the phone they seemed rude and the whole service seemed rushed would not recommend there are a lot of better places than here.
22/06/2018: This is way over priced and advertise as if it’s a fancy resto. But when you walked in, if you had a choice you would walked out. For what we paid, we would have had better food in a more fancy restaurant and have alcohol with it. The sushi were basic and served on a plastic tray. The comments on trip advisor about Pop Art Sushi are not reliable. Will definitely not go back there.

Steak Out

Greenhill, Harrow
15/02/2020: Went for a valentines meal last night, staff where friendly, food was okish. We spent less than a hour in there and had a starter each, a main each and a side each, glass of coke and a water which came to £65. I asked for the bill and my partner asked for a sprite. His drink came soon as we paid for the food. He didn’t get the chance to drink what we paid for as because we had already paid and we where pushed out of the door and asked to leave now we have paid as they had other people waiting. He left with his drink in this hand! Worse restaurant experience I’ve had to date what makes it worse is I’m heavily pregnant only a week away from giving birth and this was our last outing before we become parents. Ruined our evening.
21/12/2019: We didn’t have to wait too long for our food, when the food arrived it was very tasty. The whole place needs refurbishment and the staff need to be friendly as well. After we had our dinner , we weren’t offered the desert menu or even asked how our food was or if we needed anything else!
