Stopped off in Burntisland for some lunch on our way home from a lovely three days in Peebles. We found this lovely bakery, bought a seeded sour dough which was excellent. Throughly recommend a visit

We tried The Crepe Shack at The Scottish Deer Centre. Crepe's are made to order, fresh, staff are friendly, it cost £5.25 for a Nutella and Banana Crepe. It was really good. We shared this as a family, passing it around for bite until it was gone and it served as a lovely sweet snack which broke up our time exploring the Centre. We would purchase from them again.

Visiting Montrose for the first time as my partner’s mother has just moved there. She found this bakery on a 10 best website in Montrose and we walked down to try it. A five minute walk from the centre, it is a lovely and bright little shop with a few sets of tables to eat in and a beautiful display of different flavours of tart and a selection of cakes. I’ve now visited twice in two days and had hot chocolate, flat white, salmon and spinach tart, raspberry and vanilla cheesecake, lemon and blueberry cake, and pistachio and chocolate brownie. This may sound slightly greedy but trust me, it was all worth it! Highly recommend for takeaway or eat in. Friendly and chatty staff, a family run business that also sell at local farmers markets.

Couldn't ask for a better meal than at Achray House. The chef has to be commended for the fabulous food on offer here.

What a fantastic restaurant. The excellent reviews really are deserved. The table was booked for 4 and the welcome was warm and we had a wonderful table in front of the fire with plenty of elbow room. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great selection available and it was clean plates for all courses all round. The service was also excellent and whilst it was a relaxed, not rushed meal they also made sure we were finished and ready for when our cab was booked. If I was passing Comrie again without doubt I would go back.

During our overnight stop in Inveraray, we enjoyed a great dinner at Samphire. I made reservations but we ended up arriving earlier and got seated right away. We came for the seafood and were not disappointed. There were just so many good choices to pick from. The smoke salmon fettuccine was creamy and good. The fish special was actually sea bream which was the first time eating it cooked instead of as sashimi. It came out whole and I butchered the deboning. The seasoning was excellent and the fish was delicate and sweet. We ended dinner by eating our very first sticky toffee pudding and enjoyed it very much. Moist pudding made of dates which we complemented by the toffee sauce and scoop of vanilla ice cream. A great finish. Service was very attentive and friendly throughout.

Was so good the first time we went, I booked again 2 weeks later. Lovely cosy restaurant oozing with charm. Brilliant service. And the food...beyond any superlative that I could muster. An a la carte and Set Menu offering a Soupe du jour, Starter du jour and Plat du jour. It's a good job we don't live locally as I'd be eating here every night:) Can't wait to go back.

Service is stunning! . . . all staff we met were knowledgeable, elegantly gracious, polished yet discreetly unobtrusive. Our server, Callum, provided a proficiently responsive service. The food is ambrosial! . . . comprising seasonal dishes, locally sourced, innovatively crafted, into delectable blends of colours, textures and flavours. For example: Partridge, Pork Cheek, Red Wine & Beetroot Risotto, Garden Kale. Yummy! The layout, decor and outside garden provide a relaxed, stylish environment.

We had a galette, a Crêpes and rosé vine. The Crêpes was nice, but nothing special. I was a bit confused about the fillings of the galette, because the salmon and creme fraiche was outside, instead of as an actual filling. Otherwise simple meal, but not expensive. The service was very friendly.
