Excellent fish and chips. Drove down to shop which was very busy but didn't have to wait long. They gave you a hand held beep which vibrated when your order is ready. Well organised take away.

Tasty food awful staff. Lack of customer service is what prevents me from suggesting this restaurant to anybody.

This is now called Mc Cann’s but I gotta tell ya folks it’s quite poor quality. First of all the prices once again are London prices. Why? This place is well out of town and I doubt it can justify its prices either on location or quality. The cod was thin and the batter just alright, but the chips were a disaster. In the same portion some were perfectly cooked yet some were still raw in the middle and none were great flavour. How can this happen as I really don’t know. I really find it inexplicable just how terribly bad our local fish & chip shops are yet they charge top whack. I mean just 20 mile away I can get first class cod fish & chips, a soft drink and I can sit-in and have the food brought to me, and all for a lower price. So I’m giving up on our local fish & chip shops as they are annoyingly poor quality and I’ll continue to visit the Pit Stop in the centre of Kilkeel. What an awful shame that I have to.

The food gave me Diarrhoea. Pizza was undercooked looked pretty much raw, got a chicken chip kebab as well and the chicken was red, something like you would see in a chicken tikka masala, tried it anyway but went straight through me, I also asked for no salt and vinegar but there was a ton of salt already on the chips. Wont be back

The manager ruined the experience, whilst he didn't yell at me, he yelled at my daughter and son for sitting down before I had came in to order, (it toook me two minutes to enter the store) and I also watched him berate his staff, than procede to yell and manhandle a teenage boy who was sitting alone, no matter the reason it is disgraceful attitude from leader in a workplace. Can't believe he keeps a job. While I see they don't reply to reviewers or take any advice in I hope this does some good and urges people to stay away from this hellish restaurant.

Very disappointed with the quality, got 2 chicken salad burgers which were mostly coleslaw. Chips were terrible very bland tasted as if they’d been cooked in the cheapest of oil

One of my many times at Friar Tucks, Newry. Seeing as I was in the mood for a takeaway I figured Friar Tucks would do nicely. There were some tables around if you wanted to sit in. Whilst walking up to the counter to make my order I couldn't help but notice that the floor was quite dirty and sticky. That generally seems to be the case in most takeaways. Anyways, I ordered my food and sat down while I waited. The food took a long time to be prepared which was a bummer as I was famished. In the end it came. Once arriving home I tucked in to one of the nicest Friar Tucks I'd had in a long time. Chips were well cooked and delicious. Burger was fantastic too. Decent place to go for a takeaway.
