Cucina Seventy Three

Whalley, Ribble Valley
06/11/2019: Had a trip to Italy booked and went here before we went away and had a great meal with lots of authentic Italian cuisine.
19/09/2019: We were big fans of Cucina 73 the previous restaurant in this building but the new owners King Street Kitchen have taken it up to the next level. The refurb has very cleverly opened up the dining space to create a wonderfully relaxed bistro vibe. Even the outside space is perfect for pre or post dinner drinks. You can tell the front of house and chef team have worked in the industry for a long time and it shows on the menus. It’s the kind of food people like to eat and with that I’m sure very soon it’s going to be the number one place to eat in the Ribble Valley. We absolutely loved our first visit and have already booked to return. 10/10

Whalley, Ribble Valley
09/02/2020: We phoned here on Saturday 8th February early evening, on the off chance they might have a table free....the young lad who answered the phone said "it's saturday night mate, not a chance!" rude! We were in Whalley anyway so when we walked past and saw a few empty tables, we risked it and went in.
27/01/2020: At times the Forum is extremely busy and often the quality of the food suffers no doubt due to the demand on the kitchen. When we last visited we had a long term Vegetarian in our party who was pleasantly surprised at the food on offer.

The Toby Jug Teashop

Whalley, Ribble Valley
04/10/2019: My wife and I came across this quaint tea shop quite by chance, as it is on the outskirts of the village and laid back from the road behind a small cobbled forecourt. On entering we found it contained eight tables and quite busy for a Saturday afternoon. We ordered coffees and sandwiches which were made to order and absolutely delicious.I shall definitely return and tell my friends about it.Im not certain of the opening hours,so will need to check before I return.I thoroughly recommend it.
28/09/2019: Bobbed in to escape the rain and have a cuppa. Found the owner and her daughter to be very friendly, chatty and generous. Sadly no food after 2.30pm so had the last sausage roll, which they didn't charges for.

The Eagle at Barrow

Whalley, Ribble Valley
19/03/2020: 4 of us went at short notice and the restaurant was quiet but we were made to feel welcome, we started with a sharing platter which was very good, we all had the flatiron steaks which were cooked to perfection, the service was very good and prompt, it has improved since our last visit and we will certainly be visiting again soon.
02/03/2020: Went on a Wednesday sat in the Bar area.Ignored by the staff we had to stop someone to get menus but no one came back to take our order. Again we had to stop someone to order two sandwiches and a Pot o Tea. Food was good but took us 1 1/2 hours o have a meal.

Mitton Hall Brasserie

Whalley, Ribble Valley, 20-30£
23/01/2020: I went with two friends on a very cold January Saturday. One of my friends is from lanzerote so this special looking country hall was the perfect destination. We sat drinking wine, then ordered a tapas selection. Every single dish was yummy... we sat in front of the fire on two lovely settees, the management kept the fire going and the candles lit. We just chatted away content with life. It was busy with a function going on in the other room. Lovely space to people watch, all in their finery... we left very content and would highly recommend.
06/01/2020: We visited for a birthday meal on New Year's Day and as soon as we walked in there was a lovely cosy atmosphere, and huge Christmas tree! The service was excellent and the food to a really high quality. The soup was delicious! Would definately recommend for a special occasion!

The Three Fishes

Whalley, Ribble Valley
05/11/2019: This was a lovely place to eat with a good atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. It had a rustic decor with a stone flagged floor. It is a shame it has gone.
24/04/2019: On a family visit, we were looking forward to visiting and trying the food, which was recommended. I looked at the menu in the morning and decided on the cheese pie, a personal favourite. However, I was really disappointed in the whole dish. I thought it was because the pastry was too short, (it was like dust in my mouth), but on mentioning it to the lady who came to take our plates, she said it hadn’t been a great success since the chef changed to gluten free.

The Friary

Whalley, Ribble Valley
12/05/2020: Excellent food, tried different meals and all were of outstanding value and extremely delicious, our order for collection is always ready when we get there and not having to queue or wait, we have never been disappointed yet with the varied meals we have purchased from there, very highly recommend.
24/04/2020: You can get fish and chips, the fish is just delicious, best ever had, beautiful batter light and crispy. Good quality potatoes for the chips, always freshly made. Or you can get an excellent chinese. The sauces are fantastic, freshly made to order, good quality meat and fish used. Service is fantastic the staff are excellent, always pleasant, great customer service, with smiles every time. Keep up the good work!!!

The Swan Hotel

Whalley, Ribble Valley
02/03/2020: The decor is modern if not a little cold. We decided to just have a beer. Looks like it will still be popular in the evening. Just visited to reminisce our times in Whalley.
08/02/2020: Booked in for 1 night to visit a local restaurant and what a surprise. Very nice lady behind the bar showed us to our room after refunding our parking at the back of the hotel. Nice large bright well furnished room, everything we could need. Large bathroom, lots of hot water and extra towels available.

10/12/2018: Me and my girlfriend regularly visit here for breakfast as it has a fantastic breakfast offering. It does get busy which means you sometimes have to wait, but trust me it is worth the wait. The service is brilliant and the food is absolutely delicious.
