Edisford Bridge Hotel in Ribble Valley

Amazing food and great service thanks to the new management who also own The Black Bull, Langho. We planned to eat here so beforehand we took our dogs for a walk up the path next to the river which runs next to the pub then treat ourselves to some food and we were not disappointed. The pub was run down and the new management have been asked to save it and already changes have been made. Some exciting plans over the next couple of weeks but this now is certainly going to be a place we frequent when walking in the area. Looking at the time of writing this the most recent reviews it seems others will be doing the same 👍🏻

Brilliant!! We are local and have been waiting for someone to bring this hotel back to life. We went for early evening meal and were definitely not disappointed. Service and attention were excellent and food quality superb. It’s back on the map and we will be returning.

We visited as a family and were made to feel welcome. We ordered a 2 course meal and each dish was really tasty, nicely presented and service was excellent.

Amazing. It was really busy and had to wait 45 mins but it was well worth the wait. Sometimes we want everything NOW. Have some patience and wait trust me it's worth it. Great atmosphere and value for money. Well done to the new owners and we will be back Jonte and Mike

Since the new owners have taken over we have seen a massive improvement at the Edisford Bridge pub. The food was simply delicious. I had the cauliflower pakoras and my husband had the roast chicken. The decor has also improved, it is warm and cosy. We will definitely be going back again and again.

Absolutely delicious roast sirloin lunch.Very good portion size and a beautifully cooked piece of beef. The service was great too. Looks like the Edisford is finally back on its feet . What a lovely surprise when we finished our meal some chocolates,ice cream and a bunch of daffodils.Good luck in your latest venture ,we will definitely be returning to our local again soon

£18.00 Ok Lancashire pie Tinned beans Raw chips £20.00 Batter, not much fish. Cold mushy peas Raw chips This was not good value for money. We won't be going back. In January we came all the way from Manchester for a meal here... it's a same. The young lady who served us was very good.

Disappointed is to say the least. We originally had a booking for Valentine’s Day, was then messaged to be told the ‘chef was ill’, they had to cancel our booking and offered us a free complimentary meal which we rebooked in for. We’ve turned up today for our complimentary meal to be told ‘there was a gas leak and they had to close the kitchen and she thought she had contacted everyone’ in which she didn’t contact us at all or we wouldn’t have turned up!! There was apology or offer to rebook us in, I had to mention about rebooking in. Extremely disappointed.

Sunday Lunch with friends before a drive back to the Midlands. Beautiful part of the country and a great spot. Main course was lovely although we were awaiting gravy. Then we ordered desserts but two items were off the menu. It took a while to be told this so most of our group decided against dessert in the end. I had a ‘rocky road sundae’ on the specials menu that honestly was badly put together with a bit of cake, icy ‘ice-cream’, cream and marshmallows. Our server understood and kindly offered to take some money off the cost. I felt though that it was not the server’s fault. She seemed to be being pulled in lots of directions. I really felt like she was trying her best but her manager didn’t seem to be talking to her very nicely. I understand that I only saw a snapshot but it just made me feel uncomfortable and I felt quite sorry for her. I’m not sure if there are staffing issues or it was a bad day but it has put me off returning. Sorry

Walk in Sunday Lunch. * rating based on price point. The food was very good. .c£15 for a Roast Dinner, quantity and quality was good, with a thick slab of beef. Atmosphere is based in the need for a bit of redecoration and refresh. Service was friendly but not enough people on the bar resulting in a wait for drinks. Dog Friendly, plenty of parking and outdoors areas.

This is a proper good pub, with two out of the four handpumps operational. Wainwright's Gold and Hobgoblin on tap. The beer was on form and well kept, obviously clean lines. We called for lunch with our two dogs and were made very welcome and she kindly pointed out the area's where dogs were permitted. A good choice on the menu, my wife opted for the hot beef baguette with chips and side salad, I had the trio of sausages on a bed of mash with a rich gravy. Both were delicious and we thought good value. We found it a warm and friendly pub and will be going back again before the end of our holiday.

Lovely cosy pub. We walked here with the dogs from the caravan site over the bridge. Was instantly made to feel welcome. We didn't eat whilst we were here but the food smelt delightful.

Called in after a long walk and decided to have some food and so glad we did. We had garlic mushroom starter which was lovely and a roast lamb dinner and mushroom stroganoff both fantastic and good size portions. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend a visit

Super pub with a fantastic landlady

Had a family meal here yesterday, oh my god it was amazing…! I should have took more pictures for you guys but it looked so good, we were hungry and it just went down the hatch. We ordered a sirloin steak, gammon steak, bacon and cheese burger and from the specials a spicy buttermilk Cajun burger. All of them absolutely fantastic. On the specials was honey coated chipolatas, so I had to get some on the side, they were awesome too. Everything was fantastic but I have to give a special shout out to the chips! I seriously think they might have been the best chips I’ve ever tasted. Being able sit in front of the fire for our meal was really nice and cosy. Absolutely amazing, will definitely be back soon 👍🏻

Called in today with my daughter for some food, WOW, no sooner had we walked through the door we were asked if it was food or drinks by an ill dressed ( scruffy looking woman ), we sat in what they called a restaurant 🤔, the table was filthy, yet it had just opened 🤷‍♂️, as staff all smartly dressed I must say started arriving for there shift it was carnage do this do that do as I say etc etc, my daughter who is well travelled in the front of house trade commenting she needs to go upstairs and stay there, looking round the place was filthy and very tired, we won’t be returning , plenty more eating houses in the ribble valley .

Visited this evening for tea. Staff were very welcoming and really pleasant. Absolutely delicious pub food and good value. Will definitely return soon

Me and the hubby Decided to stop on our way home for "a drink" we had our two daughters who decided they were hungry, it was hitting teatime so decided to ask for a menu. The pub was reasonably quite with what looked like locals standing at the bar. We were quickly seated and two lovely girls took our food order. The food arrived pipping hot and did not disappoint, four clean plates at the end, will definatly return when we are next in the area.

Very dog friendly - lovely open fire - better to book ahead if you can - food looked good and tasted even better !

Dirty, the carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in 20 years tables were all sticky, chairs must have been there since the 1950’s. Let before even ordering food it was that bad

We called in with our grandson for a bite to eat I had the salt and pepper chicken strips to share and they were very tasty our grandson had the garlic mushrooms which again were very tasty for a main he had the burger which he really enjoyed my wife and I has the sirloin I had mine blue and it was cooked to perfection the portions were generous and the staff were polite and friendly I would definitely recommend a visit here with drinks 2 cokes 2G&T 1 beer and a blackcurrant and soda the bill came to £109 which I found very reasonable

There were six of us celebrating our silver wedding anniversary, we all enjoyed it very much.

This a good place to meet friends travelling through Clitheroe. The food was good and the service friendly.

Came here with a camping group, booked end of August, sadly booking wasn't sent through to new manager. She said she'd fit us in 17 of us. Asked us to pre ordered food in the morning. Came for dinner and only 16 places not a problem but a bit squashed. Service was excellent, one young waitress on and she was amazing.... Food was excellent and they worked really hard for us in a busy pub.... Come to pay and the bill on some of the food was more expensive than then menu said. 12.95 for a steak pudding and was charged 18.... 6.25 for started and was charged 6.95 Questioned and she said it was a larger pudding however we weren't informed. She precessed to say...you pre-ordered and I accommodated you! She said the puddings were bigger and not regular size and if we hadn't pre ordered she would have told us...our bill ended up £15 more expensive than we expected over the group. She said she'd knock off the deserts for the two couples who had been charged extra which she did but when I paid the balance and got a receipt they were still on there. We spent around £700 between us all in the pub over the whole weekend... So am undone she tried to con us. Sad really as the food and service were so good.

Ordered the steak pudding and was told ‘oh it’s the last one and it’s a large’ - thought we’d got lucky with the last one being a large, anyway paid the bill and left and realised we’d overpaid. Steak pudding on the menu was £12.95. Rang up and asked for a breakdown of the prices on our bill and was told the pudding was £18.95 because we’d ordered a large. Erm no, we didn’t. You told us the last pudding was a large. At no point were we told about the additional cost. Firstly, not even worth £18.95. Secondly was just told ‘sorry’ no offer to come back in and get our extra £5! Bit shady that to not even say ‘the last pudding we have is a large but is an extra £5 is that ok?’ Also the chips on both our meals were undercooked, pale and hard.

Lovely sandwich and great staff.

Only went for sandwiches this time round, but that club sandwich was 👌🏻 chicken was properly chargrilled, tasted amazing, can’t wait to try a steak if that’s how good the chicken tastes. And check out them onion rings 💪🏻 Friendly service, excellent food, log fire, good value… its a 5 from me 👍🏻

Very friendy pub ordered gammon . The food was very good however the pineapple missing when I asked about it told they were stock taking same with the mayo and the vinger ,stock taking 😕

Have to say Saturday had a great night with the rugby showing followed by a cracking singer. The staff are so friendly and the homemade beef burger was spot on. Will revisit.

Called in for food @ 7:30pm on a Saturday evening with my wife and 10 year old son. Greeted with stares from customers, clearly we were not “Local” or “Regulars” Someone appeared upon entry to which I asked if they had a table for food. The gentleman then said we’re not serving food at moment, he then saw me glance around the room (People were eating!) He then said we’ve run out. I got the impression we just weren’t welcome. Disappointed as we drove to the venue.

Took our two young (5 & 7) Nieces whilst camping and the service and food were wonderful. Very friendly gentleman behind the bar and the young girl who took our order for food and drinks were great with the girls. Steak pie was very meaty and plentiful and my wifes fish and chips went down well as did sausage and chips & Pizza for the kids. Beer & Guiness just as you like it, and all good value. Recommended.

Had a fabulous meal for a small birthday party. Food was excellent. The tomahawk steak was just perfect. Service was brilliant too. Can't wait to go back.

Had a meal and a few drinks, got speaking to some locals and had a great night. Food, drinks and service very good and friendly staff.

We had three delicious meals for lunch from the light bite menu and were pleasantly surprised to see steak and gammon there. The staff member was very friendly and dog friendly. We sat indoors which was nice, clean and warm. Our Rossy dog also enjoyed his sausage. Lovely area too close to the river

We stayed at a near by caravan park for 2 night, bobbed in for a few drink last night. We did not have food but what was coming out looked lovely. The manager behind the bar was amazing and made us feel so welcome, the locals we got chatting to where so lovely too. Amazing , friendly ,cozy, old school country pub. We well definitely be back.

Food was very good and the staff excellent. The only problem was we wanted to eat in the pub side and not the restaurant side . But there where dogs everywhere and a large dog came to sit by us with its owners and it smelt . We therefore moved into the restaurant ( not our choice of sitting) The pub used to have dogs by the bar or in the wooden floor small area. Not in the main rooms . Bit disappointed

Went yesterday with my partner and 2 dogs 🐶🐶 . We had a lovely ministrone soup for starters it was really tasty and roast beef Sunday dinner,the beef was cooked to your preference (ours being medium rare) it was cooked perfectly and Very well presented. Bowl of water for 2 tired dogs and the young girl who served us was really nice , polite and chatty. We will be back 🥰

Warm friendly and inviting-pies looked especially delicious. Good wine too. Very new team so understandably some teething issues but very determined to get things absolutely right so we will go back. Very easy walk and close to CCC site but take a torch if dark on return.

We go regularly for a drink and we always usually have a positive experience except for yesterday. A new manager appears to have gone into the job and if he doesn’t change his approach then he is going to have no customers left. Moaning about staff not coming in to customers who are trying to have a civilised drink on a Saturday. We then witnessed him be extremely rude towards a regular customer with bully like behaviour that is completely uncalled for! Shame because it could have been a lovely afternoon if we hadn’t have come across an arrogant, disrespectful and abrupt manager in a Balenciaga hoody!

Have to say me and my partner had the pouched salmon and it was the best meal we have had in a country restaurant/pub my uncle and aunty's who are over from Australia had the rib eye steak and fish lingerie. My uncle said the beat steak he ever had in England and aunty's even took a dog bag home . Full compliment to the chief and will definitely be going back . We'll worth a visit and worth the money 💰AND THE YOUNG MAN WHO SERVED US WAS ABSOLUTELY 💯 👌

Came for Quiz Night and tried the curry special. Usually wary about pub curry's being out of a jar, but this certainly wasnt. Packed full of chicken in a sauce that was amazing. Definetly one of the best curries ive had in a long time!

Currently sat in the beer garden. Went to the bar and served quickly. Wine and beer good. Shame food was so disappointing. Took 55 mins from ordering to receiving. Bruschetta starter disappointing for the price. Chicken starter very dry. For the price you can get much better locally. Inside hasn’t changed since we last came 8 years ago and needs a lick of paint.

I’ve visited this pub many, many times over the years, being originally from Clitheroe. It’s in a wonderful location just up the hill from the river. This time I was staying at Edisford Farm Campsite with friends and we ate a mid-week evening meal here in the cosy restaurant area. We each ordered the fish n chips and were all impressed - the batter was excellent, not too thick, not greasy. A delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff.

Haven't been here for many years, and I think it may be the same again!! There was a total of 6 of us, and it was meant to be a lovely family meal, but it wasnt great from the start. We were greated by the manager (I presum) and he wasn't very engaging but he showed us to our table. The waiter was much more friendly and engaging, the best thing about the whole place to be honest. When our food arrived, 1 of the fish and chips was basically just a big load of very well done batter with a tiny bit of fish in. It was changed very quickly for a fresh one, to their credit, but why let it leave the kitchen like that. The manager did warm up a little by the time we left, but I wouldn't say he was great to be honest.

Lovely place next to the river where the kids could swim Can only get ice cream and soft drinks would have loved some coffee. A mini train ride was available

Great pub as ever, we live in Low Moor so Edisford is our local. We have not been in for a while (shame on us) We sat out in a lovely clean tidy beer garden. Went in to for a another superb pint of Guinness or two. Spoke with Alan, who made us feel very welcome and a warm friendly atmosphere. To be fair we did not dine but sounds a great menu. Certainly will come more often as should the rest of Low Moor! #support out great local pubs !!!

Have been here today Sunday with a group of 30 for a buffet lunch. Can’t rate them highly enough. Very accommodating, pleasant and friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely food. Great outdoor space.

I visited recently from the nearby campsite. My first solo trip since losing my husband so a little apprehensive, but the staff were friendly and attentive. The dining room was clean with fresh linen and my meal,sea bream was delicious. Would visit again.

Nice enough, but missing some atmosphere and a very limited menu if you're a veggie. Decent sized beer garden and dogs welcome. Outside was nice, inside was a bit drab and the staff were ok, but got the impression they didn't enjoy work and weren't overly friendly . We ordered garlic bread and some sides for the adults, ice-cream for the kids, the sides seemed to take ages although when they did arrive the food was delicious. Bit pricey £24 for a bottle of prosecco.

First time at the Edisford excellent meal, first class service will definitely eating there again

We were camping nearby and wanted a substantial meal after a sandwich lunch so we prebooked and also preordered. This always works if you have children in your party. The food arrived in pretty quick time and was excellent. Go on give it a try.

We’ve just had a really great meal at the Edisford. We live locally and fancied giving it a try based on previous great reviews on here. I have to admit- I saw the last couple of awful reviews posted yesterday and debated whether we should cancel, but we decided to go ahead. We certainly weren’t disappointed. We had the loveliest welcome on the bar from a wonderful young lady (a real credit to the place) who directed us to our table for 6 in the corner of the restaurant. Menus arrived quickly and drinks order taken. Gorgeous large Merlot in a proper glass! We had pies, lamb duo, bbq chicken pizza and kids sausage mash and peas- all were superb! Friendly efficient service throughout. The bill was reasonable and as we walked out I checked out the bar area- it certainly wasn’t dirty… just a really atmospheric, traditional bar. Would 100% return, in fact we can’t wait! Thanks to the team ❤️

A traditional pub thankfully dog friendly. The food and service and surroundings excellent and a very relaxing atmosphere. We have been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. We certainly have no issues about cleanliness. Though a little dated (or traditional as we say!) we have always found it a clean establishment.

Visited today for lunch. The place is incredibly dirty. The seating by the bar was so dirty I didn’t want to sit down. The area smelt horrible. I couldn’t decide if it was the toilets or just general dirt. We sat outside and finished drinks and quickly left.

Enjoyed a delicious sunday lunch yesterday, beef with all the trimmings. Hubby had the beef cheek and ale pie which he thoroughly enjoyed. Will definately go again when we visit the campsite next door again

Nice country pub serving great food, also dog friendly.

Music and atmosphere good. That's where it ended for us! We where given menus and had our drinks order taken, drinks arrived quickly. We waited over 20 minutes for our food order to be taken, we ended up going to them to give our order! We then had to wait well over an hour for the food to arrive! Children's sausage, mash and gravy was swimming in gravy. The spaghetti carbonara for an adult was tiny and did fill him up. Tomato garlic bread was bland. The fillet steak pizza had a stray chilli in it, had far too much mozzarella on it and was very bland. No one came over to check everything was OK or if we needed more drinks. My partner doesn't like confrontation or complaining so we went over paid the bill and left. It wasn't even that busy. We definitely won't be back! Reading other bad reviews I now await the backlash from the management!

Just what you’d expect from a country pub . Great ambience when you walk in the door . The staff were friendly and efficient . Didn’t have food this time but what passed me being served to other customers looked delicious . Prices were reasonable and a good selection of quality drinks . The decor provided plenty of talking points and the music playing was just at right level so you could still hold a conversation without asking for folk to repeat themselves . All in all well worth the visit .

Food: Amazing steaks well cooked with tasty sides. Service: Very friendly, pleasant, and efficient bar staff. Atmosphere: great music, clean and welcoming. Only passing through or would be regulars. Updated: went again the day after. Beef cheek pie and Lamb Shepherds pie highly recommended. All home cooked food.

This place just keeps getting better. Their steaks are top notch. It's dog friendly in the pub side too. It's a great atmosphere. There's a gazebo in the beer garden with lots of outdoor seating too.

Found this lovely pub by chance serving food all day as was struggling to find somewhere mid week food was lovely mushrooms to start and the bacon burger for my main was very nice well worth a visit 5 min from Clitheroe and loads of parking and out side seating dog friendly too

It was a pleasure to return to the Edisford Bridge Country Pub. The steak was beautifully cooked and delicious, as were the sides, the staff are extremely welcoming, the ale selection was good. Very very good experience, will be returning.

This place is great. The food is very good, the staff are really attentive and the beer is kept well too. I had the whitebait to start and it came with a pot of exceptionally strong garlic dip. Wow, nearly blew my head off, I’m not complaining but the wife wasn’t impressed. 😁

Great place to sit outside or inside with your dog. Good choice of food served by friendly staff. Portion sizes are very good and homemade cheese & onion & steak pie, very tasty. Very relaxed and will be back again 🙂

I first visited with a friend and she had the burger and I had steak pie. She said the burger was delicious and struggled to finish it (but it was so nice she managed ). My pie was incredible, the meat was so tender and...

Drove miles with a partner and 2 kids in tow trying to find somewhere to eat and this place was recommended to us from another pub and wow what a place, the food was amazing and plentiful, I got the steak and ale pie and it was huge and homemade and tasted amazing, the girlfriend got a burger that she enjoyed, her little lass got chicken gougons and henry got sausage and mash, nothing was left and we left bellys full and smiles on our faces, if I'm ever in this neck of the woods again I'll be back for definite 👍

First time eating here yesterday and it was a truly incredible experience. The staff could literally not do enough for us. The food was incredible. Perfectly poured drinks and a fabulous wine selection. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to go back and try even more things off the extensive menu.

A really nice pub with plenty of parking int the car park. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were all fab (friendly and very attentive). I had mussels and a thai green curry - both dishes were lovely! It was a perfect way to end a sunny Saturday evening; we’d go again.
