We were staying in nearby Hebden and there is a wealth of pubs with dining in the area. We were drawn to The Old Hall Inn because of previous good reviews on Trip advisor and we were not disappointed. We had not booked prior to our visit and just turned up on the off chance. The pub was busy with diners but the very helpful young lady behind the bar was quick to find us an available table. The menu offered the usual variety of pies, fish and chips, and a curry or two but we happened to be visiting during National Burger Week and the imaginative chef had at least a dozen burger varieties from around the world, including New Zealand, Germany, Spain and France, there was something to appeal to every burger lover. The burgers themselves were top notch, very meaty and full of flavour and the various toppings were inspiring. This coupled with a very welcome pint of a local brew led to a wholesome and satisfying meal. The service was superb and I would definitely come back to the Old Hall again.

We visited this lovely village and nearly left without visiting this place. But then it started raining, so we nipped in for shelter. And I’m glad we did! The coffee was good but the cake was amazing. Really friendly staff and dog friendly too. Well worth a visit.

We stayed in a nearby cottage and ate here five times during the week. Initially, we’d planned on booking meals at the King’s Head too, but they weren’t doing food until later in the week. However, we were very happy with all the meals we had at The Blue Bell. Highlights were my wife’s fish and chips (twice), my delicious roast leg of lamb for Sunday lunch, an excellent homemade lasagne and wood pigeon breast with risotto. The desserts we tried were also very good. When we arrived on Saturday there were eight beers on, mostly from Lamb brewery at nearby Litton, Dark Horse brewery and Wharfedale brewery. The beers went down to seven during the week, but still a good choice. If you want to go in for just a drink, main evening food times could be tricky, although there is a small dedicated bar area with two tables. Outside of busy food times, you can also use the old bar area to the left of the door as you go in, which also has a large wood burner, so is quite cosy. Overall, would highly recommend.

We stayed for the May Day bank holiday weekend. This is a great location for walking in the Yorkshire dales. Room was nice but the jacuzzi bath was amazing. Suzanne and her husband clearly work really hard to produce nice food and look after their customers. My only thoughts is that they need more help and support. I don't think this is an independent pub .I think they are working so hard for someone else and I hope it's appreciated, they made are stay really good.

We hadn't been to the Dales for a long time, but being up north for a family celebration we decided to have a few days in Kettlewell and stay at the Cottage Tea Room for a B&B. We were glad we did. Mike and Jaynie were very friendly and welcoming hosts, our room was comfortable (with a very nice bathroom) and Mike cooked an excellent breakfast every day - our dogs appreciated the sausages Mike kindly gave them! Thoroughly recommended.
