The best restaurants serving Default food in Central Town North Devon South West

The epitome of a Tea Room, leaf tea, China cups, plus excellent tea shop food. If you are in Barnstaple, ignore all the “coffee houses”, make your way to this Tea Room. Excellent service, good food, all at a reasonable price. We cannot recommend it more.

We visited this wonderful place whilst on holiday and it’s absolutely stunning. I loved the detailed decor and the vibe. The food is all made freshly on site. We had cake and coffee and my son had the vegan beans and sausage on toast and it’s safe to say we have all devoured our food.

Had a lovely stop mid-mooch in Barnstaple for a cuppa & cake. Owner was friendly & helpful, giving good recommendations on which treats to pick. Took some pics for us which was appreciated. Cakes were delicious!

We came to Craftys with a group of friends and had a thoroughly great evening. The food & wine was exceptional and the service was the perfect mix of friendliness and professional. Very highly recommended.

Honestly the best breakfast in town 💯 been there for a fry up and had there homemade veggie chill nachos. Staff are so friendly and food cooked to perfection 👌

Visited today with an old friend and cannot recommend this place highly enough. Lovely bright decor, relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the coffee is without doubt the best in Barnstaple. Stuart knows his craft and his coffee is the best I've tasted in years.

Top marks here, staff very welcoming and well informed once asked for details about the menu and up coming events, the menu is well balanced and has something to suit everyone’s pallet, I ate a the plant bar plate which was delicious everything tasted fresh and well made. I really enjoyed it. We will be back

If you want a nice experience out with great Service that your find yourself leaving at the end with a smile and feeling good. this is it. Top drinks, top team, top bar! Had a grand time as the team really made it an enjoyable evening. Grate service with a well designed interesting Appearance. The team seam to just enjoy working with each other also so it all comes together and just gives a general quality experience all round.. it’s just one of these real good things out there. I rate it. And recommend.

We went to dinner with friends, the food was excellent. My steak was cooked to perfection. The guys that own it are very welcoming and made the evening even more special. We will be back.

My second time coming here and definitely not my last, absolutely amazing fresh food. Cooked to order, so the food is hot and the coffee and hot drinks are made with so much care that’s it feels like drinking silk. Weather family, friends, couple, local or just visiting Barnstaple definitely give benjis bistro a visit, it may be a little hidden by the big buildings of Queen house, but definitely not one to miss

I love coming here for my daily coffee and coming with my family at weekends. Great coffee and nice selection of cakes! I've had lunch here too, good price and quick service and lovely coronation chicken. would recommend.

Lovely home cooked food and great value. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had and I’ve been going there for years. Great eggs!

Dropped in for a quick bite before going to cinema across the street. What a lovely surprise - We both had cocktail sausages with a honey mustard sauce and onion bhajis, freshly cooked and very tasty. Helpful service and a nice place, very clean. I'd love to go back there, and will next time I'm in Barnstaple.

I choos the Cafe for the nviting green welcoming colour which was matched by the beaming smile from Kyle as we entered. Quality ingredients lovingly prepared our tasty food was delicious and oozed quality. We spoke with Kyle was explained where the ingredients were sourced. The black pudding & bacon were from the local butcher who was also a farmer! The Oat milk cappuccino I had was delicious. I had poached eggs the best smoked bacon along with the tastiest black pudding, again sourced from local butcher. A great trio of local eateries all supporting each other in the street. Martin & Kyle we’re proud of their establishment & this shone through in their warm welcoming approach to their customers. Would thoroughly recommend you eat here. We shall return, dogs welcome too.Thank you gents a wonderful experience.

We had a takeaway pastis de nata and we tried a Pastel Tentugal. Oh my goodness, these where the best pastries we have eaten the filo was so delicate. We will definitely visit again when back in Barnstable.
