We recently discovered The Plant Bar Café, and it’s such a gem! The food is absolutely delicious—I tried the Buddha Bowl, which was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. They also have a fantastic variety of lattes, each more tempting than the last! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff. Plus, it's dog-friendly, which is a huge bonus! Overall, it is a perfect spot for a relaxing and enjoyable meal. Highly recommend! 🌿🐾

Excellent food, very imaginative, tasty and colourful. We had a small portion of savoury waffles (sweet potato), one with avocado, tahini, cumin and lime juice, the other with hummus, black beans and jalapeños. And kombucha to drink. This was our second visit and won’t be the last. Thank you for a memorable lunch.

Lovely little gem in Barnstaple with great coffee. I tried the flat white, latte, chai latte and the beet it juice drink, all of which were delightful. Definitely recommend. The staff here go out of their way, made me feel very welcome. I will definitely be visiting again soon to try out more of their menu :)

I don't normally have anything other than black coffee, but as it's vegan I had a Nutcracker latte, it was absolutely lovely. My hubby had a cappuccino and little boy had hot chocolate they loved them. We also had a small portion of signature waffles sweet with bananas, goji berries and almond butter with cinnamon, we ended up getting another portion as it was so nice. Definitely recommend that u try it out.

Popped in for a cup of tea on a recommendation from a friend. Ended up staying to try the sourdough with beetroot humus and mushrooms. Amazing and I’m not even vegan! A very warm welcome and attentive service from the staff (and Lady - a beautiful golden Labrador). Lovely relaxed atmosphere and I’ll be coming back again for sure.

Walking around Barnstaple we decided that we were hungry and looked for somewhere to eat. After looking at a few places we saw a sandwich board in Gammon Walk showing a Plant Based cafe upstairs on the corner. Glad we did. The food was superb. Beautifully presented and so fresh and tasty. Both my husband and myself had a Buddha Bowl. He had sweet potato and black beans. I had lentil and humuus. Fantastic. We had teas and coffees too. The bill was nice as well. Both of the waitresses were very attentive but not at all pushy. All in all it was a very pleasant lunch. We will be going back..... Ih and there is a loyalty card too!! Fabulous 😊

If you are vegan it is not easy eating out in north Devon. Aleafia offer amazing vegan and gluten free dishes, lots of healthy choices - the Buddha bowls are a personal favourite. The kids love the waffles, the cafe is always spotlessly clean and staff are helpful and friendly.

Like the previous reviewer I'm vegan and a coeliac to find I could eat anything on the menu was brilliant. A pleasant relaxed environment. We had the buddha bowl with humous and lentil. It's the sort of plat based food which anyone would enjoy. I washed mine down with a matcha green tea. We plan to visit the area to do the Tarka Trail next year so will visit again and take advantage of the gym and yoga facilities.

Finding gluten-free, vegan food is sometimes awkward; but not here. Everything on the menu is vegan and gluten-free. The food and drink choices are varied, interesting, imaginative and very tasty. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

If you are in Barnstaple this place is a must visit! If I were living in Barnstaple it would be my go to place. Lovely people, delicious matcha and coffee, and such a relaxing atmosphere. I'd definitely sign up for their yoga classes if I could. Totally recommend and worth visiting. We'll come back when we visit the area again.

Visited today with my family, could not have been a more enjoyable experience. Attentive, accommodating and friendly staff. Ensured the 4 of us could sit together once another group had finished - making it much easier to keep an eye on our two little boys. Offered an easy alternative of baked beans on toast (though neither of our boys like that - think they're the only kids that don't!), but felt assured could ask for a very slight amendment to the sandwich offering for my eldest (6), we ordered our youngest (4) jam on toast which came with a selection of 4 jams! Exceeded expectations all round, expecting a loaf sized piece of lemon drizzle, when lemon cake was offered, instead it was a three layer lemon cake that was delicious, everything was really reasonably priced and delicious. Would recommend without hesitation and I don't know for sure, but it sounds like they provide some level of takeaway too, if you're looking for picnic bits. Thank you

Great service, excellent coffee, great cakes. We were staying in coombe Martin for 3 days, and visited the cafe on each of the 3 days we were there. Lovely

Absolutely fantastic. We were given an afternoon tea for a present and Caffyns Farm was the closest for us in Plymouth. The food was amazing, and very generous portions too, we came home with a doggy bag. There's a lovely warm & welcoming atmosphere, all the staff were absolutely lovely and it's very clean and tidy. Only criticism is that the toilets are upstairs (i walk with crutches). They also offer camping facilities and horse riding, not to mention feeding the goats in Goat Cafe lol while admiring the gorgeous views. Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere nice, chilled and peaceful. Was well worth the 2 hour drive. Will definitely be going back in the future 😊😊

Dropped in for lunch on a day trip whilst staying in the area. We were not disappointed! Lovely food, a very interesting menu. Different flavours, with a real twist. Lovely attentive staff. Thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.
