We enjoyed another lovely meal at the Red Lion. The interiors, welcome and general atmosphere are warm and inviting. Good Oxfordshire beers, Laithwaites wines and hearty dishes are the main elements of the dining experience. I think since our last visits there are less flourishes, but there remain some lovely surprises, like the feta bonbon with the lamb rump. Leave some room for dessert as the delice is amazing. At the weekend booking is essential.

We visited to celebrate the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of my parents-in-law as a party of eleven. Everyone loved the decor of the Greyhound and the service and food were faultless - excellent in fact. Nice relaxed atmosphere, busy without feeling cramped or forgotten and perfect for groups of all sizes. Thoroughly recommend.

Turned up for Sunday lunch at 12:30 to be told (after we’d paid for our drinks) that the kitchen is small and we wouldn’t be able to have any food for 2 hours (despite the fact there were hardly more than a handful of people before us). We weren’t the only disappointed customers as two other families left without ordering too. For a place that advertises their food so prominently out front (‘Sunday Lunch 12-4’) they really need to get their act together. Waitress sarcastically chirped “bye!” when we walked out. Useless and rude.

Lovely people. Nice atmosphere in-store. Great fish & chips. We had a large portion of chips, a huge piece of haddock, and a good-sized piece of cod. The chips were chunky and soft, and cooked to perfection. The fish was delicious - really tasty, quality product. They have a good selection of other things too - saveloys, pies, and a chiller filled with soft drinks. Will definitely return. Great fish & chip shop.

From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed, including our dog who was immediately given a cuddle and a bowl of water by the kind bar lady. Our host, Miles, was very attentive and provided good recommendations on the food and drinks. The three of us shared 2 huge starters, and our mains were well presented, tasty and generous. A very pleasant evening was had by all! Definitely on our list for a return visit.

We booked a table of 5 for Sunday lunch. The menu is varied. The food delicious. 3 had the Sunday roast, which got rave reviews. Great meat, crispy roast potatoes and as much gravy as you’d like. 2 had the Sea Bass, which was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and the staff super friendly and polite. We will definitely be back.

I was looking for a spot to eat while I waited to pick up my daughter from a party. I was lucky enough to stumble across The Greyhound. What a lovely, welcoming team, charming local diners and delicious burger. If you are in the area I would highly recommend this spot for a really great all round experience. Thank you to the team.

I had coffee at the Herb Garden today and developed a nasty cough whilst I was there. A member of staff brought me a glass of water (she obviously heard me coughing) without my asking. I was impressed; she went beyond the call of service. Thankyou! Gold stars all round. Coffee and scone delicious too!

Lovely little establishment had lunch with the children the staff were very accomadating and attentive lovely food and a fair price would definitely recommend.i now visit most mornings.
