Been there many times in the past 25 years and the service and quality of the freshly made sandwiches and homemade cakes has never changed Its first class you’re never waiting long and the gardens are such a beautiful place to enjoy it. Would always thoroughly recommend it

Stopped off for lunch while in the area. Beautiful cafe. Friendly staff who were very helpful. Good choices on the menu. Fresh food (asparagus quiche and salad was particularly tasty). Lovely selection of cakes too. Will definitely pop in again next time I’m down.

Quite possibly one of the best kept secrets in RTW Is the Sunday lunches being served up at The Chafford on Fordcombe. Our walking group of 12 ended up here yesterday having completed a delightful 6.5 mile walk through fields and bluebell carpeted woodland out to Speldhurst and Langton Green. The roasts were amazing with plenty of vegetables and lots of alternatives for our vegetarian members. With lashings of gravy and everyone’s meals arriving together and piping hot this was truly a dining experience. No ‘voluntary’ service charge was added to our bill so we made our own decision over this (12.5%) and with drinks, some deserts and some coffees our bill came out at just over £30 each. This was amazing value given that we were all so full we could not manage even a wafer thin mint to finish!! Great service, great food, great drinks and ample parking. A real walkers delight and we will certainly be back.

I have been for lunch at the Bottle House many times in the past, and recently returned after an 18 month haitus. I really wish I had not bothered, the food has substantially declined. I ordered the pork belly main course. The carrots were hard, barely cooked. The so called caramelised apple was a slice of raw apple that spent a few seconds in a frying pan. There was no crackling (always was in the past). The sauce tasted like something out of a packet. My companion was equally unimpressed. The place was not particularly busy but there was a long wait for the food, I noticed another table complaining. Such a shame, this was once our favourite venue on the Kent walking trails. We will not be returning.

I highly recommend the Wheatsheaf. The interior is welcome, its history adding much charm. The outside area has been extended and once it’s a bit warmer provides excellent seating, with umbrellas providing much needed shade when it gets too hot. An Extensive and wide ranging menu, my vegetarian wife was very pleased, too often this important element is an afterthought at pubs. The Wheatsheaf burger was towering and delicious and fries excellent. The reports on the chicken shawarma, mushroom risotto and heritage tomato salad were glowing. Restaurant was busy but service excellent. If I were to pick out one possible improvement, it would be that staff shouldn’t run. It creates a hint of chaos when the reality is that everything went extremely smoothly! Thank you to everyone for proving us with such a lovely evening!

If I'm paying £2.50 for a can of coke, It would nice to be offered a glass and ice with it. Iced latte, in a mug - really? Sausage baguette, sausage and baguette - nothing else, no salad, no crisps. I don't mind expensive, But please offer something to justify the price. The staff were nice though.
