Firstly we have to commend the fabulous service received by the staff. It was a very busy Sunday afternoon and they bent over backwards to accommodate us - 4 adults, 2 strollers and 2 high chairs for 2 babies. Sunday roast was very tasty and plentiful - desserts excellent too! Beautiful pub with so much character. Well done! Will certainly return 🥳

We always have a fantastic time when visiting The Wheatsheaf. The food and service are exceptional. Today we had some friends visiting from Scotland as they completed a 50k charity walk yesterday. We had a brilliant table upstairs in the gallery. Not long after being seated some Morris dancers started to perform outside. So so cheerful and fun. The food was delicious. The roasts are really pretty perfect and there were clean plates all round except for my 13 year old but that was only because of the spicy chicken he had as his appetiser. He also tried the belly pork and white bait! All staff are friendly, happy and super efficient. This place is worth the drive. The best place for miles.

We were visiting the Wheatchief for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. Everything seemed idyllic and we wondered why we had left it so long before visiting. We were soon reminded when we were charged £13.60 each for a medium glass of wine. That's almost £30 before you've even eaten. The wine was very nice but nothing special. More expensive than in Central London and completely unjustified! Can only assume we had been ripped off so will not be going back sadly.

Absolutely amazing food I had prawn linguine followed by prawn salad for cocktails. The desserts are unreal. The chef is 10 out of 1010%. I will come back highly recommended very friendly atmosphere very good family orientated. The manager is so friendly I will highly recommend coming to this place. I’m very good with allergens. The manager asked me time and time and time again he reassured me. I am so happy with the service. This is my new place and I will be back here every single Sunday date night very successful thank you so much to the staff and the chef, specially the manager.

Visited this place for a small bite to eat and a few drinks. We were served at the bar by Olly, who was so polite and friendly. He recommended the hoisin pork belly bites, and we ordered those with a few other small plates. Olly made sure my allergies were accommodated and what I could/couldn’t have if I wished to share any of my partners plates. Service was quick, the outdoor setting was lovely and the food was absolutely fantastic!! £34 for 2 small plates; skinny fries; homemade kimchi; a pint of cider and a Pepsi - some might say a little punchy but it was definitely worth it!

Firstly, this is a very attractive pub with a lovely garden, lots of seating. We arrived for a Sunday lunch and were quickly seated. Menu was interesting. I ordered two small plates and my husband had the fish and chips. When my 2 small plates arrived, one of them was wrong and to their credit, they gave me that plate foc and then later brought the item I'd actually ordered. They were all perfectly nice without being amazing. My husband's fish and chips were outstanding particularly the fish. The fish itself was perfect, still moist and flaky, the batter wonderfully crisp and light. quite the best I've tasted in a long time. Now for the bad. When we ordered the waiter asked about drinks. I asked for " a glass of your house red". He said it was a merlot was that ok and I chose a large glass. now, I perhaps should have asked to see the menu or checked the price at that point but i am so used to a large glass being around the £9.50- £10 price point. The wine was just ok. Certainly nothing special. Therefore I was absolutely shocked to be charged £13.50 for the glass. That seems outrageous for a glass of a bottle that was probably about £6.50 to buy. Left a bad taste and spoiled the lunch. Wouldn't go back.

Whilst this public house and garden is very pretty and in a lovely setting the food is pretty standard and the service desperately needs improving. The waitresses serving people in the garden didn't have a clue where their table numbers were and would often walk up and back with food not having a clue who it was for! The table of 4 people next to ours was given 1 dinner that was completely wrong then the other 3 people were served 30 mins later with the wrong dinners. We were served our starter after a 45 min wait and our mains after a total of 2hrs wait. Prawn cocktail starter was nothing to write home about, a bowl of lettace with some prawns in sauce the middle priced at £10.95, god knows where they got that price from!! Mains finally arrived after a total of 2hrs wait, after we asked the head waiter where our food was and he said we were next and it would be about 5-7 mins, 20 mins later it arrived. I had ham, egg and chips. The ham was extremely dry and the fried eggs undercooked. By this point I was done. We were informed that it was Sunday and busy! This is a pub restaurant, they are supposed to allow for it being busy at the weekends surely! A lame excuse. Wouldn't rush back.

We have been coming here for years and its always first class, but yesterday was something special. Four of us had three courses and every plate that hit the table was a triumph - just superb. We travel about 50 minutes to eat here because of a lack of good places to eat where we live, and its worth coming back every time. It has the four things needed for a great meal. Good food, good service, good ambience and good prices. I would happily recommend you try it,

This olde worlde country pub had lovely Christmas decorations and a roaring wood fire. The staff were welcoming, attentive and professional, We had the Christmas menu, the Camembert starter with large pieces of toasted bread served with a homemade cranberry sauce was delicious. Turkey with all the usual trimmings and extra gravy if required together with perfectly cooked brussel sprouts, parsnips, carrots, swede and homemade cranberry sauce. The sticky date pudding with ice cream was also delicious. We had a very enjoyable lunch and will definitely return in the New Year.

Stayed at Hever Castle B&B and came here as 2nd choice because the Henry VIII pub wasn’t serving food and we were so glad we did! Great menu, food was amazing, cozy ambience with the roaring fire and candles burning in a wonderful old historic pub. Tastefully decorated for Christmas too. The lady serving us was lovely and took an interest as to why we were there which was nice in addition to being a great hostess. Couldn’t fault it here and only wish we lived nearer to try some other items on the fabulous menu. This is the kind of place you wish was your local in the countryside. Highly recommend.

I came here yesterday for Sunday lunch (10.12.23) with two friends who booked the table, and the food was absolutely dreadful. We ordered 2 camembert to start, which was basically like molten chemical plastic in an unappetising paper wrapping with a few bits of dry bread and some sort of unpleasant tasting cranberry mix. Not nice at all. We had 3 roast beef which were was just pure stringy and lumpy fat, gristle and impossible to even cut and literally no meat to be found anywhere. It was served with undercooked, bad quality potatoes, a tiny amount of tasteless veg and a rock solid Yorkshire pudding that had seen better days. I politely told the girl serving us that we were unhappy with the food, but there was no discount on the bill. The plates left the table with just the same pile of fat and gristle which was what was served up and totally inedible. We drove a fair while to meet here for lunch and were left speechless by the poor quality of the food. Didn’t bother with desert as we wanted out of there as quickly as possible, feeling a bit done over by the price of the terrible food that we were served. It came to about £110 for a round of soft drinks, 2 camembert starters and 3 roasts. I don't mind paying good money for decent food, and for £23 per roast you would expect it to be top notch. I can imagine a supermarket value microwavable roast ready meal being much better than this was. This was thoroughly disappointing and we certainly won't be either returning or recommending the Wheatsheaf at Bough Beach, Hever Road to anyone. Zero stars. Booking time: 13:30. Booking name: Chris.

We have known the Wheatsheaf over many years and several changes of ownership. We think the current owners have really got everything right. My wife and I had dinner there on Halloween night whilst our daughter kept the spooky creatures entertained at home. Food delicious, especially would recommend the Tempura Prawns! Service impeccable. We ended with a coffee in the bar beside the log fire, giving the in-house spaniel (Paula) fuss. Popped in for a last minute late lunch. I have been visiting this pub for maybe 30 years and it is lovely to see that it is still thriving and serving up excellent food and drinks with friendly and efficient service. I was recommended the Moroccan Lamb Kubbes. This was absolutely excellent with loads of herbs blended into an extremely tasty meal. My partner had chicken and ham pie with thick cut chips. Both were excellent, freshly cooked and with a very generous and tasty filling. The Larkins bitter rounded off an excellent lunch. Recommended yet again.

With Sunday closing at 8.30 pm we had booked for 7pm. Appeared surprised we had a booking and allocated a table in the furthest far corner away from main dining area. Table top sticky and should have been cleaned better. Started well with nice Tempura prawns. Mediocre fish and chips arrived with an incorrect Roast Chicken dish. This took appx 15 mins to rectify,so the Fish and Chips had gone cold. When the chicken did arrive it was piled unattractively on a small plate with several huge chunks of potato .Parsnips weren't available so extra slices of overdone stuffing were thrown on. All topped with a giant Yorkshire pud. Had to ask for a proper dinner plate! Chicken was tasteless and probably they had run out of proper roast chicken. Apart from the poor waitress no senior staff member bothered to speak with us. No one said goodbye and it seemed that they were more interested in going home than looking after customers. We stayed over at Hever Castle and this place is on their list. Even though there seems to be a dearth of good food outlets locally we think you are likely to have a better and friendlier experience elsewhere. Perhaps we should have let them know that we were from Hever Castle B&B.

I had a heritage tomato salad for my meal. It consisted of no more than two tomatoes and a few bits of feta, a couple of rings of red onion. It cost £16.50! The ingredients might have cost as much as £1 even from the most expensive supplier, but even if you add service etc, that is never £16.50. A staggering ripoff for a very average tomato!

We called in for lunch without a reservation and were greeted warmly, being offered a table inside or outside; we opted for a table in the wood-beamed interior. There is a wide selection of drinks available, including four local real ales. I opted for an excellent beer from the Westerham Brewery. The service was friendly, attentive and professional. The food was delicious; we both had one of the best burgers that we have encountered anywhere at a very reasonable price. There is an exciting selection of starters, including oysters and smoked eel, which was fabulous. As expected, the coffee was first-rate. The dairy-free ice cream was exceptional; unless told, we would have suspected it was rich in dairy as it was flavourful and creamy. We will certainly visit again.

I came here after visiting three years ago with my husband. I bought a friend to see if it had improved. We were told that if we took a seat outside someone would be with us. The manager (I presumed, and familiar face from last time) was more interested in talking to other customers than dealing with us. He did this last time!! I understand the courteousy of talking to customers, but not to the rudeness of ignoring other potential customers. After a while we decided to go back to the car and go elsewhere, whereupon he finally spoke to us and asked if anything was wrong. ...We will definitely not be going back and would not recommend.

So my husband and I booked a table for an evening meal. We had travelled from Derbyshire and was staying at Hever Castle.I’m originally from Kent.Firstly I want to say the food was nice. Secondly the staff work their socks off and they are really friendly. I particularly want to point out that Jack was very professional and helpful and we thought he was manager hence why he was the person we spoke to at the end. The 3 stars are for the fact that the female assistant manager absolutely ruined the meal for us. She was rude, she stood at the bar (where our table was located) talking bad about the staff whom were working hard, she spoke to them like ‘rubbish’ and we had to listen to this ALL the time and then pay £112 for the privilege. Errors were made with regards to orders and dishes not just for us but other tables too and that is simply down to poor management. Both my husband and I own business’ with staff and we have NEVER spoke to our staff this way and the fact that it was SO obvious to the customers was really unprofessional. Shame on Wheatsheaf for allowing this! Well done all waiters and waitresses for keeping things going that night. It was solely down to you. Well done Jack for staying professional. We have just left The Wheatsheaf starving but fed up after waiting an eternity for our food to arrive. The guests at the table next to ours ordered their food half an hour after us and were served before us. We were given the platitude that our food was being served but that can't have been true as we waited again and then had enough, paid for our drinks (under the circumstances they should have been on the house) and left after an insincere apology by our waiter. To the owner. You need to get a grip on your pub. I don't believe our wait for food was a one off as I have read the Tripadvisor reviews and there are too many similar to ours, To customers thinking of going. Bring a big Mac & Fries with you as you will probably have to wait for your food. Or just go to McDonalds. They serve you there

Despite arriving pretty early, they had run out of several items on the menu, which as vegetarians left us short on choices. We ended up going for the wild mushroom risotto, as a main and we got a small bowl of fairly bland risotto, who's saving grace was that the rice was cooked quite well. There was no cheese board so I was left actually still pretty hungry. We were then made to feel that they were closing as they were going around the tables doing those "end of evening" things, which made us uncomfortable as we were still enjoying drinks and a chat. I went inside to pay as by then everyone seemed to have disappeared inside and asked for the bill, which i paid by card. The card reader did that "add a gratuity" thing and so I did, of eight pounds, but messed up the input which cam up as 8 pence. The transaction was voided and I did it again, and the barman did not once say that service at 10% was already on the total. That was wrong of him as it was clear that I was unaware and he deliberately seemed to omit the fact. All in all, even without the double service, it was an expensive and very average meal, soured by the double service charge that was obtained in at best, a sleezy way. We won't be returning. When I got home, I ate again!!

We waited a fair while for food and then the waiter forgot the cutlery. He apologised and went off to get it. 7 minutes later and still no cutlery we grabbed him when he delivered drinks to another table...We asked 3 times for a glass of water but then gave up.There was a lovely dog bowl provided for dogs but it was empty. As we couldn’t manage to get a glass for ourselves we didn’t bother asking for dog bowl to be filled and went to get our own dog water from car.Other customers were wondering around on mobiles/ between tables with no masks on and none of the covid rules were wnfotced. All in all a true disappointment

Recently visit the Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech for a pub lunch due to the positive recommendations on tripadvisor. The food was delightful but I wish I could say the same about our dining experience due to the service we received from the manager. We spotted him on his phone at least 3 times in our lunch sitting, we noticed this as he was too engrossed in his own personal life than providing service to waiting customers. Furthermore, he seemed to have no interest in the fact that his front of house staff had little direction or organisation, and to top things off, he incorrectly charged us on our bill. Will not be returning and frankly feel very embarrassed that this kind of staff is running this establishment.

This pub appeared and on arriving we were waiting for almost 10 minutes to be seated, which was not the best start but we waited nonetheless. We were sat down at the far end of the garden area and the track and trace sheet was left with us with no indication from the waitress as to when she would be back to get it or if we would like a drink. We could see the waitress in the distance and tried to indicate that wanted to get some service but obviously was not visible. There were two other families sat near to us who were together that were discussing between them how long it has taken for their food to arrive. Based on this and that we had waited just under 20 minutes and still no one had come to the table (30 including the wait at the entrance) we decided to leave and go to another place for food. I would have preferred to have been told on the door that you cannot accommodate us

We called in for lunch, without having reserved a table and were delighted when we were told there was a space for us. We sat outside and were very happy. There was confusion over our drinks...we had ordered 2 Becks Blues, one in a glass and the other just in the bottle. What actually arrived was a large glass with one and a half bottles of Becks Blue in it, and the rest of the bottle beside it. It wasn't important, and we ordered our food. The food actually arrived nearly 90 minutes later, after we had asked several times where it had got to. We were given 2 different explanations...one that it had gone to the wrong table, the other that the person who took the order hadn't handed it in to the chef. But the food finally did arrive. Had it been absolutely delicious, I wouldn't be writing this review now. Anybody can make mistakes in life; anybody can have a bad day. But the falafels were the driest I've ever had, the salad was just a few large lettuce leaves with a smidgeon of cucumber, onion and tomato...not even salad dressing (they were in plastic sachets on the table). The avocado and hummus were both lovely, I'll say that, but the "pitta bread" was actually naan, which doesn't really go with everything else on the plate. My husband's chicken burger was "OK" ....nothing special, considering the price, and the salad that went with that was the same as mine. And that's not all.....I really should have checked the bill before paying it (I take that upon myself as my own failing). But after I had paid it, I realised that the service charge had been included in the bill. I had paid service charge for the worst service I have had in a very long time. I pointed this out to the very nice person on the till (it really wasn't her fault at all and I felt very sorry for her). She said the money could be returned to me, but it would take a while. And I had to go back to work, so I just left. I won't be back. I feel that, although, as I said earlier, anyone can have a bad day when things go wrong, had I been in managerial position, rather than blame my staff, I would have attempted to make good the situation by giving at least a discount on the bill, to help make up for what was essentially a completely ruined meal out.

A real gem of a find, romantic and sweet, and a beautiful flower shop nearby (2-3 doors away) we also strongly recommend.

I was looking forward to a meal here after reading the good reviews. Unfortunately, we experienced terrible service. We sat down and were given menus - we then had to wait about 20 minutes for anyone to come and take our order. (They were practically empty and there were lots of staff milling around behind the bar). The waitress brought out the food for just one of us and walked away. After about 5 minutes, I asked if my partner's food was also coming. They then said it would be ready shortly (clearly they had forgotten). They then brought out the WRONG food after another 5 minutes for my partner, but we were too hungry and fed up to complain. Nobody really checked on us and we had to keep putting our hand up and try and get any attention. The place seems so disorganised - I'm not sure how it's possible to make so many errors when it's very empty, lots of staff are on and it's a table of two ordering one main each. To be honest, the staff mostly seemed to be just be chatting and laughing behind the bar - we kind of felt like we were just an inconvenience to them and they didn't seem to care about serving us at all. We were planning on spending the evening there but left after the food. The food was OK - the wine was good.

We have now exhausted the menu but this is such a lovely pub the service and staff are outstanding we are always made to feel welcome our requests are always met without any feeling of being an inconvenience. There are measures in place but without the excessive OTT of some places that are totally destroying what should be a totally enjoyable experience. I'd say give it a try you wont be disappointed a lovely place and the staff will certainly help with any requests. Halloumi burger particularly delicious x

First visit to the area, stressful family day at Hever castle.. then we found this pub.Felt very welcome, first we were greeted by a young lady who offered a table inside or outside - something not available at all pubs at the moment - a very interesting menu presented and plenty of rules in place to make us feel safe. The food! Wow! The lamb kebab was so tender, my wife’s prawns looked well presented (I would of liked more but I’m a big eater) the kids were ok, did the job .. but puds just topped it off! Chocolate moose and creme brûlée - obviously there is a sweet tooth in the kitchen - just perfect, the kids ice cream is clearly homemade and a decent portion. All the staff were friendly, young team but kept on top of everything - well run establishment, must try!

The experience i had today was pretty bad and i hope the owner of this Restaurant will read it and give it the attention it deserves. It started fine. This afternoon about 3.15 We ordered our Starter, Mains and drinks then came inside for the Mains because of the rain. We finished our Mains and i got up and went near to the bar and ordered a Coffee and a Chocolate and Raspberry Mousse. I was served the coffee after 10 mins, OK, i accepted that even though you were not busy but there seemed to be plenty of staff. I then waited at least 15 mins and didn't get my dessert. I went up to the bar again and politely said, please cancel my dessert as we've waited too long and had to leave. I noticed that i had quite a few members of staff attention. Then a waitress bought the bill over, which i notice had the dessert still on and then another waitress bought over the dessert which i told her again i didn't want it. We were waiting for the waitress to bring the card machine over and i was going to tell her we never had the dessert when all of a sudden i take it she was the Manageress "HEATHER" came flying over talking quite aggressively and loud. She said you don't want the dessert, you don't want to pay for any of the bill. I explained we had waited too long for the dessert. We didn't want it any more and just wanted to pay the bill. I was not loud or aggressive to her. I just said we would have liked the coffee and dessert at the same time or nearly the same time. I never said it to her but i think and only my opinion a gap of over 20 mins really isn't acceptable for a dessert of a mousse that just needs serving up in a bowl. There were another 2 ladies sitting nearby and i have to say i was embarrassed and upset as well. She said i should have said that the desert was wanted first but why would i say that when i went up and ordered it. Really anyway the desert should have been served first if any of them should You finish the meal with the coffee. I have never had a coffee and then waited over 20 mins for a desert but never have i had a waitress come over to me so aggressively, never even apologising for me waiting so long. The restaurant was quiet, there seemed to be plenty of staff who looked very relaxed standing around. They must have forgotten my desert. I think there were too many members of staff not communicating because even as all this was going on another member of staff bought over the card machine while Heather was adjusting our bill at the till. I will just add that she took the price of the coffee off the bill but that really doesn't excuse rude behaviour towards customers who you surely need at this time more than ever. it should never be that a customer is told off for changing his mind because he had waited to long to receive his dessert. PLEASE TAKE NOTE.......... Thank you

We booked this restaurant to help support local pubs with the eat our help out scheme. We arrived at 7.30pm on a beautiful Monday evening. We ordered our drinks which took half an hour before we received them, we hadn't even had our order taken, I think possibly they were not expecting such an influx of people to eat, with only a few staff working. By the time our order was taken there was only burgers left on the menu, with this only available, no where else to go at this time of evening we opted for the burger, plus decided to order another 2 drinks on the basis how long it took to receive the first drinks! The food arrived, chips were cold, burger was okayish, still no drinks! This pub has a great setting, sadly I don't think this pub was prepared for the volume of people taking the opportunity of 'Eat out Help out Scheme' lack of staff. Another concern, we waited for the previous people to leave the table, which we were shown to, the table still had the previous peoples plates on it, which they did clear away once we were seated, the table was not sprayed/wiped, I did point this out to a member of staff, still no one came to clean the table, menus were also not laminated to be sprayed and cleaned after each person. In light of the current situation, these a simple steps that do need to be taken, sadly due to this we will not be returning to Wheatsheaf even though we do live locally.

Where to start.... from the prices you would expect high quality pub grub, but what arrived was worse than something from a fast food chain. The fries were like McDonald’s fries, and there was no thought given to presentation whatsoever. The strawberries and cream was £6 and what arrived was very stingy for the price. The staff were unfriendly and we waited 20 minutes for our bill. I will not be going back.

Visited for a very average lunch. Burgers were ok but they missed the cheese off. Tom and mozz salad had a few mouldy grey basil leaves on it. Unappetising. Waitress very dozy. No masks or visors in site. No wiping of tables. No track and trace. We even had to ask for them to take our phone number which was written on the waitress’ serving pad! Waited 15 mins for our bill. Won’t be going back needless to say.

Charming surroundings, but very average food today (and not cheap either) Service pleasant, but chaotic and disorganised. If you’re going to charge way above average pub grub prices, quality and service must reflect the cost- it certainly didn’t today!

We enjoyed lovely meals on Tuesday, returning the next day for another dinner. My wife ordered the veggy dish the second evening which turned out to be very salty. She didn't eat it all and pointed out to waitress when clearing . Manager arrived with bill and agreed that he had tasted it and it was salty, but was not authorized to reduce bill. On further discussion he took four pounds off the bill to round it down. it was a shame as everything else had been so enjoyable. suggest owners give the duty manager discretion to act on like issues as this has not done them any favours ?

A last minute decision to go out for Sunday lunch. A table for 5 at less than an hours notice. A good selection of bitters on tap made the choice difficult. A choice of NZ or French Sauvignon Blanc - we of course chose New Zealand and it was delicious. Soft drinks for driver and one child. Roast beef was excellent with large portions and very tasty Yorkshire pudding. Similar roast chicken. The junior lunch was also just right. No room on this occasion for dessert but looked scrummy. Helpful staff, open log fire, delightful surroundings and easy parking. Sunday afternoon bliss.

Hands down the best pub/restaurant we have been to and we eat out a lot!!! We are visiting from Deal and telephoned on arrival to the hotel up the road. Happily surprised to secure a Friday night booking. Car park roomy and well litWarm welcome in the bar. Decor authentically rustic. The menu and resulting food were so clearly skilfully homemade. I could go on all day but will save youMy only addition to say, the home hot smoked salmon salad and faggots were out of this world!

A fab meal. Sea bass with vegetables and new potatoes and a caper butter sauce! So flavourful, On Fridays and Saturdays they provide a complimentary amuse bouche before your meal and this week was a pulled pork Bon Bon with apple purée! Delicious! Chocolate fondant for dessert, which, if I’m honest was a touch undercooked as it did more than ‘ooze a little’, so basically I was eating raw batter, which I then left. However, the service was great, the ambience fabulous and we will return.. I just won’t order the fondant again

We haven't been to The Wheatsheaf for many years (last time was before my husband's coeliac diagnosis) and it has been closed and changed hands a few times. It was so lovely to go back. The pub still has the most wonderful character and the roaring fire on a cold drizzly day was just so inviting. The food was amazing and most of the menu is either gluten free or can be made gluten free (including the chips which is rare). The staff were very friendly and clued up on how important to prevent against cross contamination with gluten. It's a little further away from home that is ideal but we will definitely be coming back more regularly.

If you are looking for a traditional British pub with a roaring log fire that you sit in front of with the ambience and obvious warmth that it provides then look no further. The Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech, this pub dates back over 400 years and the traditional wooden beams add to is charm. Tastefully decorated with fairy lights and tapestries. The food was excellent we plumped for the Xmas roast dinner and it was lovely, the Cesar salad starter was probably the best I’ve had. Staff are attentive and friendly, the garden is sizeable so this pub would be an excellent choice in all seasons. We will be returning soon ...

Fireplace (with a lit fire) in the entry room, exposed wooden beams, clean, and stylishly decorated. I’ve been going to this cafe on and off for 10 years. I have to say my experience has gone downhill since Covid. My recent visit has been very disappointing . I ordered a Spinach and Mushroom Quiche with salads. First of all, the Quiche was still frozen in the middle. Secondly, I didn’t even have time to argue because my daughter has been stung by a wasp. Totally understood this is normal in warm weather but the Cafe’s reaction has been shocking. I went to the counter to ask for some ice. It took at least 5 mins for the waiter to get it despite I can see a bag of ice lying on the table with 1 waitress standing next to it chatting to another lady. I asked can someone just give me the ice as my daughter is crying in pain. I was told someone has gone to get first aid and they can’t “just give me the ice”. After another 5 mins, the first aid has finally showed up. After asking what happened, his words are: oh…..I’m afraid there is not much I can do. I said can you grab me some ice please? It is at that point we finally got the ice!!! I washed my daughter’s wound with some soapy water after a quick google on what to do. I’m not a fully qualified first aid by no means. The cafe has an outside sitting area and wasp sting would be very common. Pleas train your staff on what to do or get some wasps trap like Polhill did. Very disappointing and I would have to end my visit after 10 years. Service standard has gone down too. Most of them look like they don’t want to work there and have a terrible attitude.

Add coffees before we went around the house and there were plenty of tables both inside and outside. Having visited the house we then went back for some lunch and had a variety of items from the menu. All items were very tasty and well presented. The staff on the counters were fine. They could’ve been a bit more efficient doing hot drinks when there was a big queue, else food and service was really good.
