Third visit to Knapps and each time have been very impressed with both the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff. Live locally and just popped in last night for dinner at the last minute. Must be the best burgers in East Anglia and sourced locally as well which is even better!

Delicious afternoon tea - with a wide selection of cakes and sandwiches. Children’s afternoon tea was also available. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had great fun decorating a cardboard unicorn in decoupage and will definitely be returning again

Saturday night is obviously popular here. We met up to celebrate my mum's birthday, as they had been here previously with friends and enjoyed it very much. We were not disappointed! The food was great, juicy and full of spices. The waiters were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. It was a great night.

Back in the 1950's, when I was a teenager, as a change from going to the larger dance halls in Ipswich, us lads used to go to what we termed as "village hops." One such venue was Gt Blakenham Village Hall. Because the hall did not serve drinks, they offered a 'Pass-out' at 9pm until 10pm after which you had to repay to rejoin the dancing. The obvious venue for a drink was The Chequers. But there was a problem for the large number of boys and girls queueing up for drinks. The landlord and his wife were elderly, rather slow, and every beer had to be drawn, gravity fed, direct from the barrels which were located downstairs in the cellar. You were lucky to get a drink before it was time to run back across the road! Contrast that with the modern Chequers. A very slick operation, and it was fascinating to observe the staff gliding about, always with a smile, catering for patrons every need. The only problem with that was that my partner and I felt as though we were being hurried along, in readiness for the next sitting. Three courses plus a drink and a coffee in not much over an hour was hardly a leisurely meal! But the food? My partner loves Indian quisine but for me it was a completely new experience. But I need not have worried. The food was of the highest quality; hot, beautifully presented and so very tasty. I will have no hesitation in returning. Well done The Indian Lounge!

What a lovely friendly family oriented Pub & Dinner so clean and inviting. We had the smoked brisket and it was to die for. We will be going again, probably next week with daughter’s, grandchildren and Storm the spaniel. I am happy to recommend this eatery. Excellent all round. Bob Bruce

Really great food and the chap that I assume is the owner is so personable, however the girl is very rude and untrained in any customer skills, she clearly would rather be anywhere else but working there, It’s such a shame as this has made us reluctant to go in there. She really upset my daughter in law with her critical look and smirk, thankfully she then returned to her phone screen.

The best fish and chips I've ever eaten. Yes maybe the owner is not very friendly to some people but he is definitely not rude to everyone. We waited a while, but the restaurant culture is to serve the fish hot and fresh, they do not serve the fish by cooking it and keeping it waiting. It tastes amazing. Our Friday Night Classic
