The best restaurants serving British food in Heworth York Yorkshire and The Humber

Their £20 for two people (Mon - Thurs) menu is an absolute bargain plus the food is really good. Jay the bartender is wonderful, so friendly, helpful & welcoming 😊 One of the best things is that the pub is dog friendly & even had a table in the foyer with free treats & water. AWESOME 🤩 Just get the bus to Heworth church & go up the road to the left (then you don’t have to think about driving after a drink - which is also included in the £20 menu!) Lovely ambiance, also plenty of seating outside for Summer visits - highly recommend this pub.

What a dirty and disgusting premise, crap staff, dirty room, bathroom full of mould, room smelt damp and of smoke, I would never stay here again I would rather sleep rough.

Staff friendly breakfasts here are variable from average to poor. Burnt sausages egg rock hard bacon an under done. They replaced it but sending really poor food out is trying it on and unacceptable really. Tables need cleaning and general feel was not like it used to be a few years ago.

Bought pasta pot then asked for a fork.. they stated they didn't have any.. I bought food that I couldn't eat???? Also bought a Southern fried chicken baguette and it was sweet and sour not southern fried
