Popped in a couple of times while stopping in Stratford. First day I had the Ultimate Breakfast (£7), Was all cooked well and very filling - didn't eat again till night time Service was friendly and speedy. Next day I had a Bacon Roll & Cappuccino (£3.50 deal). Hot drinks are serve yourself (i think) so treated myself to a hot chocolate as well. Would recommend to anyone staying in Stratford who doesn't mind a bit of a walk in the morning.

One star for good happy service from one staff member but the food was dire and I should have sent it back. We had the all day vegetarian breakfast and a cappuccino and a flat white. That's what was supposed to happen. The coffees looked exactly the same and tasted weak and watery. As for the food, 2 tiny dried up sausage, 1 baby crusty hash brown, scrambled eggs that were tough as elastic bands, brown dollop of avocado, and a single shriveled mushroom. Small pot of beans ok with one toast. .A waste of £17 and as if thrice microwaved and hanging out in the kitchen Plus, they were obviously distracted setting up stony faced for a Xmas party . All in all we agreed never to repeat the experience, which was not happy with my digestion all day long and I was haunted by the image of the so called breakfast that they dared to serve. Avoid.

Visited here for a quick breakfast and really enjoyed it. Vegetarian breakfast was tasty and filling. I would go again.

Great breakfast all fresh ingredients freshly prepared hot and tasty excellent. All items perfectly cooked must be a new chef Saturday 9AM drinks are still poor with a crappy slow service and dire coffee. However I must say the breakfast was 10/10 well done.

Morrisons ultimate Breakfast. Absolutely dire..... Morrisons cafe at Staveley Derbyshire. Just had one of their 'Ultimate Breakfast'. Probably an over used analogy, but... Worst experience ever. Ultimate Breakfast. Came with.. 1 overcooked fried egg instead of 2. 1 and 1/2 rashers of bacon very undercooked instead of 3. 3 sausages that if think were from the previous day, just warmed up. The black pudding was so dry. It was almost like eating dust!!!!. 2 fried bread crust, door stops. Undercooked..... 1/2 of 1 tomato. Should have been 2 1/2s. Basically it was 💩💩💩. Totally spoiled any experience of having a breakfast cooked for you.

Terrible dirty knifes and forks, dirty tables, loud music playing,cold environment, understaffed no one on the till. Poor service long wait for food. Two small breakfasts and one tea £12 poor value. One sausage, almost raw bacon one wafer thin rasher,hard fried egg ,tomato cold just cut in half. A dystopian nightmare used to be good years ago needs improvement the hot drinks service does not work slow and always shouting without a table number. Maybe an off day but not good at all.

Toilets stink dont think they use any cleaning products needs a good bleaching and my wife said ladies stink too

Struggled first of all to locate a table which was very nearly clean as opposed to many soiled or with food left on them. As my husband joined the queue to order breakfast it became clear that there was a woeful lack of staffing with the lady on the till also covering drink dispense (and the coffee machine which was mentioned in NOVEMBER is still (or again) broken. It seemed there was a lack of napkins and we were given a piece of kitchen roll (in a supermarket ????). There was a warning of long delays which ultimately proved less than estimated. Though when it arrived one of breakfasts was brought without toast so I had to go to ask for it. A busy cafe like this around 11am on a Friday clearly needs far more staff than those available - demonstrated when a cook came from the kitchen to raid the used tray cabinets as there was a shortage of clean crockery. Just to reiterate that the staff were not at all at fault but all the blame rests with management (or lack of it). When it arrived the food was good !

Ordered a fish and chips with tea and bread and butter. Came in at over £9.00. Order came as a small. Not great value. It came as a small portion which was replaced. Tea was really weak even have been brewed for ages. When the portion of bread and butter came it must have come out of a fridge as stale and cold hardly edible. Fish was ok in the end small portion of chips in a bucket. Offered a slice of cake which was a kind offer for the Fiasco I did not complain about anything to the staff it was a good will gesture. The staff are always friendly it’s gone down hill needs better pricing and quality service I don’t know if it’s because of the company being sold again to another American company. They need to look at how Sainsbury’s run a cafe. I hope it improves overpriced for a cafe it’s not a restaurant.

We came to the cafe in Morrison's for a breakfast around 1pm. We were not informed of a 45-60min wait for hot food. The staff were shouting at eachother. Coffee machine broke and we had to wait 30 mins for a dishwater tasting cappuccino. The food was edible but the atmosphere was awful. The lady on the coffee machine was just so mouthy and loud. No cutlery in sight, very messy. Won't be coming again. I appreciate it's a busy time of year but a smile would be nice. I work in hospitality myself and I don't struggle to smile at the people who essentially are paying my wages

Oh dear Morrison’s has gone down hill. Coffee is dire waited 10 mins for a weak machine coffee that tasted terrible. Toast cold and burnt. Breakfast 2 rashers of thin bacon bone dry hash browns. Slow service under staffed cafe avoid not cheap at around £9 Used to be great what’s gone wrong maybe the American company that bought Morrison’s out recently. Depressing environment.

Staff were super helpful when I couldn’t find anything and man I spoke to was extremely polite, best I’ve had from a supermarket in a while

Baked potatoe with tuna very very little filling mainly mayonnaise really small potatoe with soggy skin. Salad was poor did not appear fresh. £5 not good value. Had to ask for butter.Coffee was really weak no taste mainly water. It needs to improve. It’s gone down hill used to be great.

Fish and chips meal at £5 fish was clearly frozen as it was rectangular chips again not great served in aluminium pot measly portion. ONE yes one slice of bread 85p extra. Tea £1.80 now not self service no one on at the machines for over 5 minutes had to go to the kitchen for somebody to serve me. Very limited menu poor selection of mains they used to do a good liver and onions and a roast dinner not now. No hot deserts at all they used to do hot puddings with custard. I hope it improves Sometime soon that’s why the place was empty I guess. I used to visit every other day at one point low staff moral it appeared under staffed no wonder they don’t look really happy. Get more staff and sort the menu out this place used to be really really busy and great value.

In a nutshell lots gon rong Morrison always had a good Breakfast range to be relied on Menu a wish mash... even Staff came across dis interested... the Breakfast itself was Hot Cold and re heated to some elements Wives Scrambled eggs was terrible.... she wanted POACHED... not any more due to COVID WILL NOT EVER EAT HERE AGAIN

All ok safety wise all tables screened off spaces out well organised I had lasagne my wife had burger very tasty meals been before would go again with confidence

I attended with a friend on the day Boris said sit down service only and masks had to be warn. Before entering we had to fill in a track and trace form then hand it into the person at the checkout. I was surprised to see people walking along to order meals. When I thought it was sit down service only. We was given a menu and felt rushed because we wasn't given time to look at what we wanted. However we both ordered fish chips and peas. One mushy and one garden peas. Plus two pots of tea. Once we ordered our meal the guy at the counter asked what table number. We had no idea because we was just given a menu and was told to move along. We quickly picked a table, handed him our track and trace forms. Followed by paying. We sat down and waited for our fish and chips. After a while someone brought our fish and chips to our table. The fish, chips and peas was cold. However my friend paid so I didn't like to complain. I don't like to feel rushed when ordering food and drink. Plus if its sit down service only until further notice. Then that's what it should be. I don't like to shop or use Morrisons much because of the poor service. My friend suggested it and I thought it be nice for a change. I won't be recommended Morrisons

Not at all happy with the quality and value of the food as I ordered gammon ,egg, chips and garden peas.After quite a wait we eventually received our order which looked as though it had been sat in the kitchen for quite awhile before it was brought to our table.I immediately tasted ,then complained to the sever that it was cold ,he then asked if I would like another meal or my money back,well I chose to have a bacon roll but this is one thing I won’t be trying again as even this was terrible.For my troubles I did manage to get £2.50 refund but on saying that I do not think I’ll be using your cafe until some improvement to the quality of the food is improves .

I've visited here for breakfast on a few occasions, and it's always the same! The cafe is dirty, tables are not clean and the staff are very aggressive!! Give this place a miss!!

Worst Morrison’s breakfast I’ve ever had. It takes real skill to serve up a cold full English. Give this place a miss!

Fuimos a Morrison's a almorzar muy tarde y realmente me apetecía un sándwich de huevo y berro, pero no les quedaba ninguno. Le pregunté a un miembro del personal (Sarah) que muy útil. Quien muy amablemente llamó a la cocina donde prepararon los sándwiches, me prepararon uno y me lo entregaron personalmente a nuestra mesa. Gran servicio en la caja también

Al llegar nos informaron que habría una espera de veinte minutos para nuestra comida, algo que no nos importó ya que no teníamos prisa. Cuando se presentó, el pescado estaba bien cubierto de masa espesa y demasiado cocido. La masa crujiente era un eufemismo, cuando la cortaste, pasaste una buena capa de media pulgada, por lo tanto, cuando terminamos nuestra comida, quedaba un montón de cosas en nuestros platos. Quizás el Chef debería ir a la tienda de Teignmouth en Devon para ver cómo producen pescado y papas fritas, ¡aquí es muy superior a lo que se nos presentó! ! Si este es un ejemplo del fayre producido aquí, entonces es justo decir que no volveremos pronto.

I visited Morrisons Café in York and I had fried eggs on toast. Very good too. Service was quick and the fried eggs were done perfectly.

The food etc was the same as other Morrisons. However, when I went there many of the menu dishes were not available.

The caoffee bar as you walk in the entrance, is as usual very good with excellent service.My complaint is that when I asked if they had a recycle bin for my empty drinks can I was told it just went in the bin!!! Encouraged to recycle plastic carriers in the entrance, bags for life on sale but they do not recycle cafe cans etc-how is this okay? Really dissapointed with the lack of recycling and the useage at Morrisons will be considerable

Visited the cafe/ snack bar part, asked for tea and tea cakes and hot chocolate and crumpets. The lady who was playing on her phone told us that tea and tea cakes wasnt an option as it wasnt part of a meal deal, I said that was fine and that I would pay separately to this I was granted at and told to sit down. When the tea cakes finally arrived out if the panini press!! (Yup not a toaster) they were black and inedible, we told the lady these were beyond eating and she said she would eat them as they are fine. No refund or replacement offered so I went to work with both breakfast... awful service morrisons, we expected better!!

Nice staff but the service is slow. Just for a drink it took me 10 minutes. Other than that i like the idea to have a restaurant inside a supermarket.

Edward es el mejor barista de todos los tiempos. Tiene excelentes habilidades de servicio al cliente y es un crédito para Morrisons; Espero que lo aprecien.

We were very pushed for time, the food came quickly and although some was average, my piece of fish was crispy and great. Good bread and butter with it too! The menu is quite extensive as well.

Un bocadillo para dos mientras mi auto estaba trabajando en Halfords, al lado. La sopa se estaba calentando y era saludable en un almuerzo frío y ajetreado, pero la cola descendió razonablemente rápido. El café de autoservicio no estaba mal. Tomé una sopa picante de frijoles mexicanos, era ciertamente picante y un poco picante pero muy agradable para todo eso. Hubiera marcado un poco más alto el de Morrison, pero por el hecho de que no pudimos encontrar ninguna de las sopas en el punto de pedido de la pantalla táctil y la opción que nos ofrecieron en la caja era muy diferente de lo que se anunciaba en la pizarra. Sin embargo, fue una buena relación calidad-precio, abundante y sabroso.

Is a notch down on the Tescos cafe I reckon. Basically its firmly average and I only had my arm twisted into this because we were really pressed for time to go elsewhere after a shop.

I visited here for breakfast of Eggs Benedict, and its a horrible cafe. Its very dirty and the staff are aggressive and rude. Don't visit here at all!!

Free wifi. Sandwiches are 1-2 quid, and relatively good. Salad decent too. Ate desserts, and slushies. All good. Walk here from the walls near the uni. and eat on the cheap. Huge supermarket too. Appreciate the incinerator outside which used to work.

Loved this place and what a surprise to have something looking modern/trendy as you enter the doors. Edward was top notch. Welcoming, polite, friendly and helpful. We only had drinks, I had a spinach and strawberry smoothie and it was delicious. I will definitely be back, comfy seats, good service and great for people watching

Good choice of breakfast meals , large & small , alterations available if required. Toast ( 2 slices 0 @ £ 1,50 ) I thought expensive shame that the plate could have been hotter.

Good breakfast food, excellent value in a good clean environment. The restaurant was clean and tidy, well staffed with most attentive staff.

Staff seemed better and happier than on previous visits. Quick, polite service for a late breakfast after a big shopping tour round the supermarket. Everywhere was clean and relatively tidy in spite of a few kids on school holiday running around.

We visited here for a late breakfast and had to wait a little while due to the amount of orders going into the kitchen. The tables and decor here are different to other Morrisons cafes I have visited and it was clean and tidy. Good experience

I visited here today for Eggs Benedict, and they didn't have the ingredients - no muffins or hollandaise sauce! Its regularly not available as they never have the ingredients!! I also noted the cage was filthy with most empty tables piled high with dirty pots!! Horrible place.

We dine and shop with Morrison’s quite regular and have noticed a slip in standards.at the foss islands store.

Popped in for a quick lunch - took 45 minutes to prepare 5 rounds of sandwiches. When asked where the cutlery was the staff member was very rude and said we don’t fetch everything for you (rather than just telling me where it was).

I have visited here on a number of occasions, and sadly it has always been a poor experience! The staff are aggressive and don't care. The food - Eggs Benedict for example is hardly ever available, and other food is very greasy!!

we called in here after a quick shop and were dissappointed that the fountain diet coke was completely flat and no bottles of soft drinks either. Teas were good. Poor show.

Visited here for a quick breakfast. Had tea and toast. I ate one slice of toast before realising it had some mouldy patches. I sent it back and was told I would receive another piece. The waitress threw it on the table and just walked off. The toast again was stale with mould growing on the crust. I again took it back to the cashier who said "what now?" I showed her the mould and she said well sorry. Did not offer to give me my money back or ask if I would like something else so I just walked out. Will not visit again and will not recommend. A formal complaint has also being made to the manager of the store.

Nosotros somos visitantes habituales de Morrison Cafe y el personal es muy amable, pero hoy encontramos mesas sucias, cubiertas en ollas usada, sin cubiertos y tuvimos que pedir nuestra mesa para ser limpiado. . . El sucio estantes estaban llenos y la bandeja no pareció importarle a nadie! . . . . La comida era buena, pero los precios son más altos y las porciones más pequeñas. Ha bajado el nivel!

From our arrival to departure Louise made us feel welcome! She is obviously one of the few who loves her job and has excellent customer relationships. We were so thrilled with her service we watched as she interacted with other customers and they all received the same warm welcome with a chatty delivery. Oh and the breakfasts we had were brilliant too! Please make sure she receives notification of this praise

Waiting for a car repair, I called in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and found business brisk. The big breakfast is certainly sizeable for the price though presentation was lacking. Nevertheless the quality of food and cooking was excellent. It took around 15 minutes from ordering to arrive. Coffee from a machine was extra and although acceptable could have been a bit better on taste. Staff were very hard worked leaving no time for a smile or a quick word. Tables were cleared and cleaned quickly.Full marks for value

Great breakfast today and very helpful staff. I had the breakfast omelette which usually comes with mushrooms and beans, they changed the beans for cheese and still charged me the same £3.50, excellent value ! Hubby enjoyed the full English with extra serving of black pudding we had toast and coffee and the bill was £12.00 something. Very good value, quick with good service, fully recommend.

It's been a while since we last ate at Morrisons.We always used to get a decently priced meal and quick service.Our most recent visit was on a Saturday at 5pm.One pie & mash, one fish & chips with a drink each for £10.The food, when it arrived was decent, however it took around 30 minutes to be served.We were going to have a dessert but decided against this after the slow service.

Went for breakfast on a weekday morning, first problem was when there was not a member of staff at the till point and we were waiting for about 5 minutes before having to go to the kitchen entrance and make eye contact with them in order to be served. We ordered a sausage sandwich and two breakfasts.The breakfasts were okay however the egg was crusty and the bacon was slightly fatty. The sausage sandwich was average, 2 medium sausages in a bread roll for £2.

crap food basic fayre aligned to the poor service and rude staff for which it is famous for. my view only of course but not worth a visit unless you want to stand on crushed chips from kids eating free

I visited here for breakfast on Saturday morning, and I enjoyed omelette, mushrooms and baked beans with a pot of tea. The service was good and quick, and the food was good. Well worth a visit for a quick bite.

Really good for a quick cafe meal. Good value and pretty quick service. Regularly take the grandchildren for after school tea as there is always an offer on. They rate the children's sausage and mash and the spaghetti Bol as the best anywhere. Recommend for kids after school tea treat.

Whatever the supermarket decides what passes as edible food is two and far between & whoever decided to name this glorified pigs trough a restaurant needs to be forced do do the naked walk of shame like Cersei from game of thrones!What is produced & is given to you on a plate resembles the contents of a soiled adult nappy... the toothless grin on a gerning face from what the name badge says "chef" tells me the staff were outsourced from various run down soup kitchens...

Called for a coffee recently - no cups or mugs and no tea/coffee spoons to stir the coffee. Had to stir the coffee with a dessert spoon, it's not acceptable. I had a similar experience last time I called so I will give this cafe a miss in future. On the plus side the wifi is very good.

Was sorry to see that they no longer have their "to die for" Liver and Onions" which I really loved so I opted for the Chicken and Ham Pie instead. The chips were OK but slightly "rubbery" so on reflection and with hindsight I should maybe have chosen the potato mash option. The pie was lovely but strange to see a light dusting of what I took to be Golden Breadcrumbs over the top. The gravy that came with it could perhaps have been more suited to it than the beef gravy that came with it but, even so, the gravy did taste good and I do like gravy on my chips.Waiting time was around 10 minutes between ordering and arriving. My wife's order took around 20 minutes but, happily, she'd ordered hers a good 10 mins before I ordered mine. She had Fish n Chips and thought the fish quality was great. Quantity and Price stacked up well.

We had to queue for 20 minutes to even the reach the till then find a clean table was impossible... Dirty and pots everywhere... When we eventually got our meals the chips were cold and stale and the roast beef meal was dreadful quality..... Cheap and not cheerful !! I would rather pay more money and get a hot tasty meal on a clean table..... Sort it out Morrisons !!

Got the ultimate breakfast which was good value and served quickly at my table by friendly staff. Decent portion plus toast and free orange juice. Free wifi to keep you happy also. Coffee was an extra charge, use a cup if you can rather than the paper ones.

Just can't get enthusiastic about anything here. Have eaten three or four times & never really enjoyed it,Mobutu it is convenient & cheap. Haven't tried their breakfast, but that might be eir best meal?Their curries (that I usually end up having) are really not very good being pretty bland and boring. That said, it is cheap.Not for me....

We use morrisons cafe for a quick cheap value meal. A whole 2-2 family could eat out here for £10 add another £4 for pudding it is what it is

Visit the Morissons on foss Island road regularly, great staff great store. Have to say the gents toilets are the worst in York, they are rarely clean and can make u sick! Please do something about it!

Went for a coffee but decided to do some shopping first due to the length of the queue. Returned to find the queue was just as long and apparently not moving much. Whilst serving customers the till operator decided to stock up a cupboard and some of the drinks machines, hence the very slow moving queue. The disgruntled lady behind me had ordered a meal which arrived whilst she was still waiting for her drink and she was not at all pleased. Most of the tables were full of uncleared dirty crockery, all in all it was a disgusting experience and about as bad as it comes. This is clearly a busy and popular cafe, goodness knows how.

We are on holiday this week and decided to have lunch out at Morrisons in York. How disappointing! To be fair the positive was that the food tasted good. However, the negatives far outweighed this as there were tables everywhere covered in dirty dishes - no one seemed to be clearing them and we visited after the lunch time rush when there were plenty of available staff on. The few tables that didn't have dirty dishes on were unclean and we had to wiipe ours with a napkin. Not a great start to enjoying a meal. The floor, in the middle of the aisles had uncleared debris on, which was there when we arrived and there when we left. We had to wait for clean forks as they were none available, probably because all the dinner plates everywhere needed clearing! At the drinks machines there were also uncleared spillages.The other issue was the staff rudeness to the customer in front of us and to us. We had ordered our hot food at the initial desk and when we came to the desk to pay we asked again whether the 3 selected items of breakfast would come as one meal and the staff member basically ignored us. Needless to say when the meals arrived the fish and chips came on one plate, but my three breakfast choices came in three separate dishes: a fried egg in each one and in a third the mushrooms. What a nonsense!! Not helped either by waiting for clean forks...We won't be eating here again.

Hi.You will see that it's got 5/5 from me, because that's what it deserved when i was there."You can't please all of the people all of the time!" is a phrase that could be aimed at virtually anything, anywhere.I've never had a grumble eating here over several years which is why i keep going back.Good sized supermarket restaurant serving York.Is always busy at peak times proving its popularity.Nice & airy seating area, just wish it was bigger with more tables.I always go for the 2 omelettes, chips & beans but, hang on a minute...not on the menu list anymore (oh no, an impending crisis looms...or does it?) So i asked if this meal was still available, "no it wasn't" was the answer but i could actually order it as separates & they would put it all on one plate. So the lady at the counter came to my rescue, well done. Odd, so Morrisons have the omelettes, the chips & the beans in the kitchen so why not still advertise it as a meal?Anyway i still love my omelette meal & goes down a treat.Very nice sweets, desserts in the chiller. So tempting as you slowly walk past them all sitting there laughing at you...eat me eat me if you dare!!Having all the drinks machines together side by side can cause the queue to fill up while waiting to pay. Slows the whole thing down.People discussing about what they will have to drink & then struggling to work out how the hot water gets in to the teapot...arrrgh! or which button to press to get Orange juice out...err try the button that says ORANGE...arrrgh! Sorry just a little rant there.......breathe & relax!!Value for money is what we're all after in these difficult austere times & Morrisons gives me just that.Look forward to going back soon for my omelettes, but, wait....what if they're not available anymore? What ever will i do? What can i have instead? Does this mean i have to eat a....SALAD SARNIE......arrrgh!

This was at the Scarborough store. I ordered fish and chips, the staff were really pleasant and friendly. The food came promptly and looked nice. The fish was cooked well but hadn't been drained properly so was rather greasy underneath. The chips were nice but they, and the mushy peas, were not very warm at all. My coffee was lovely though. One other criticism would be that I really didn't know what type of fish I was eating.

My 2 kids and I went yesterday after 4. We ordered 2 adults meal and 2 free kids meal. While we were waiting for the food we noticed the 2 staff members talking about us in a hostile manner. Then when the food was brought to us the staff member asked if my husband was coming? I said no. There are just the three of us. She then in a very hostile manner said that two adults must be present to have 2 free kids meal. I said I am not aware of the ruling as it is not stated anywhere. I then went o the counter to seek clarification. It says 1 free kids meal for every adult meal ordered. It doesn't state anywhere that there must be 2 adults present to order 2 adults meal. The staff pointed a finger very rudely at me and said I could have charged you for the kids meals you know! I am baffled! Is it a misleading ad? If there is such a term that the no of adult must correspond with the number of adults meal ordered in order to get free kids meal, why was it not stated anywhere? Needless to say, I lost my appetite cos I was made to feel I am eating something I am not entitled to. And I haven't even mentioned that last month my son was trying to cut into what we thought was a piece of bone in the hunters chicken. It turned out to be meat so hard that the knife couldnt saw through!

Excellent little restaurant in a good location in York. Good fresh food and service but what is handy is the in store treats such as Lewis's cake shop buns. Counters are fresh.

Visited Morrisons York cafe on Wednesday 8th May, we both had fish & chips, on cutting through the crispy batter I was confronted with a horrible grey looking under cooked fish which was not very hot apart from the peas. this is the first time we have had fish & chips at the York store (had other meals which have been good) had them at Scarborough store and have been very nice. Maybe should have complained but we did'nt, dont know why !!!! One other point, could do with some more disabled seats or staff should check for able body people taking up disabled tables. Not often I complain but just tell things as I find them.

My wife and I shop weekly at this Morrison's Supermarket and more often than not, take the opportunity to eat in it's restaurant. The is food good and wholesome at an extremely reasonable price with a surprisingly varied choice of dishes. It is also ideal if you just fancy a coffee and cake or sandwich to tie you over. Would certainly recommend giving it a go.
