The best restaurants serving British food in Crookes Sheffield Yorkshire and The Humber

Lovely food, not greasy at all like some fish shops can be! Proper hand cut chips and made to order fish, very enjoyable. The two staff were very friendly, even gave us a free homemade fishcake (which was 10/10!) and extra chips! Will definitely be back!

3rd visit last night. Food was good, not overly impressed with menu choices. Hard when you book so far in advance & menu changes regular. On previous visit there has always been a choice of 2 meat dishes..... last night only 1, confit of duck. Cant say it wasnt nice, just didnt float our boat.. but when the bread with soft cheese & desert was the highlight of my night . Another point to make as a table of 4 .. we felt pretty squashed at the table in the doorway & i fully appreciate you are a small bistro.

When you walk in and the minute you get to the counter you're only met with a 'We've got to wrap thirty bags of chips'. No 'hello', no customer service. Whether you are busy or not, you need to acknowledge your customers and not make us feel unwelcome or like we are an inconvenience just by entering the shop. Will spend my money elsewhere. Speechless.

Nice friendly pub. Spacious and plenty of character. Only stopped for single drink so can't give more detail this time.
