The best restaurants serving British food in Broughton and Appleby North Lincolnshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Fantastic local little pub situated in the country kinda. It’s gorgeous decorated interior and we love to visit this pub regularly now 🥰 I always bring my Mum along with me when we come out for some drinks and we always have a nice time. The staff really pay attention to you and make you feel at home.

Had a party of 8 booked, when we arrived the premise was empty and the only table set up was 8 chairs crammed on to 2 tables only suitable for a maximum of 5, staff stated they had just had a party of 18 in (although a family member who arrived 30 minutes early and waited outside saw no one leave!) staff added another table to seat us all but there was so little light we ended up using phone torches to see what we were eating.... Food and service wasn't the best, liver and gammon both over cooked.... Very disappointing

For a higher-end restaurant some of our meal was terrible . Who serves half-cooked rice? I ordered the squid starter and the haddock . The starter was so hard I had to pick the 'balls' of batter up and bite them, revealing a thin sliver of something. The haddock had been on vacation; it was so well-rested that it was hard and chewy. We weren't ever asked if our meals were OK, and my feedback at the end prompted no apology or other action. The vegetarians and meat eaters seemed quite happy but whoever decided the fish was OK should be made to eat it!

I cannot fault anything about this place all the staff are so welcoming and one member of staff went out of their way to be polite and even called us by our names she was called Courtney and definitely an asset to the restaurant. The food is always fresh and hot. The environment is so covid safe which is so important for me.
