We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the various courses. Many times we just wanted more of the same - the scallop from Orkney was to die for. The finishing touch of chocolates in different guises was amazing.

Best restaurant in the Cotswold. Most innovative menu choices, food bursting with flavor. The chef's heart is in every bite. Had oyster mushroom brunch and sausage vegetable stew. Both tremendous.

Trudie is so lovely and welcoming and the garden is an oasis of calm. Delicious cakes and treats as well as a lovely craft selection to browse. I would highly recommend a visit when the new season starts next spring

We used to live in this village until 2 years ago and the Red Lion is the only thing we miss apart from two friends. The lunch on Saturday was excellent, as always. Sarah is a wonderful cook. She caters for special dietary requirements as well. The waiting staff are so friendly and efficient. The pub is gorgeous and well frequented. The atmosphere is welcoming. Lisa and Jonathan remembered us. We love this pub and the food.

Planning a visit to the Cotswolds Distillery Visitor Centre where we hoped to sample lots of their products led me to finding this gem of a country pub. With their kind permission we parked our motorhome on their carpark then walked the ten minutes for a boozy Distillery tour and a wobble back. Dinner at The Cherington was a perfect end to a great day with friendly, attentive staff (shoutout to George!) and delicious, freshly cooked food from a well constructed menu to suit all tastes. Drinks in the Bar after dinner were convivial and cosy with lots of friendly and welcoming locals including Scoff the dog who was sure to greet all comers. We loved the evening, had a peaceful night on the quiet carpark and have already decided to come back. 100% recommendations for this fabulous village pub.
