The best restaurants serving British food in Long Compton Stratford-on-Avon West Midlands

We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the various courses. Many times we just wanted more of the same - the scallop from Orkney was to die for. The finishing touch of chocolates in different guises was amazing.

Stunning place, lovely atmosphere and super food. Now closed til March 2025, so got there on last open day of the year.

Trudie is so lovely and welcoming and the garden is an oasis of calm. Delicious cakes and treats as well as a lovely craft selection to browse. I would highly recommend a visit when the new season starts next spring

I don't understand the reviews for this pub! The food was shocking. Please don't run a pub, if you can't cook!

Everything that a country pub with rooms should be! Open fire places, super friendly but professional staff and decent bedrooms. Exceptional food offer which thankfully goes well beyond the ubiquitous burger/fish&chips/sticky toffee pudding clichés. Excellent breakfast (with homemade marmalade!) Only issue was that the EV charger wasn’t working but they know that and are trying to fix it. As others have pointed out, bedrooms on the road side of the building are not the quietest so try to book accordingly.

We booked for dinner on a Friday night and had a great time. We were surprised by the quality of the food and our waiter, George, was extremely friendly and kept us laughing throughout. Will definitely again when next in the area.
