A Walk -in. Stopped on the off-chance of a Sunday lunch at 2.30 pm. Instantly served by Speedy Gonzalez, aka George, and neither of us could fault it. A great addition to the Happy Wolf Pack. Good Luck; Well done; Many thanks and highly recommended. We shall return.

This newly refurbished pub is really excellent. We had an early Sunday lunch with small children. The service was excellent, friendly, child friendly and quick. Basic good food. Limited Sunday menu however the starters and the roast beef were really delucious. So pleased it has reopened. The garden is going to be great in the summer.

Planning a visit to the Cotswolds Distillery Visitor Centre where we hoped to sample lots of their products led me to finding this gem of a country pub. With their kind permission we parked our motorhome on their carpark then walked the ten minutes for a boozy Distillery tour and a wobble back. Dinner at The Cherington was a perfect end to a great day with friendly, attentive staff (shoutout to George!) and delicious, freshly cooked food from a well constructed menu to suit all tastes. Drinks in the Bar after dinner were convivial and cosy with lots of friendly and welcoming locals including Scoff the dog who was sure to greet all comers. We loved the evening, had a peaceful night on the quiet carpark and have already decided to come back. 100% recommendations for this fabulous village pub.

Lovely pub. Our first visit since the refurb (ad possible new management?) and we weren’t disappointed. We were in need of a pick me up so ordered 5 espresso Martinis which were only £9.95 each. The bar maid was lovely and friendly and the cocktails were fab. It was my friends’s first espresso martini and she wasn’t disappointed. Can’t wait to return next year.

Please don’t waste your money on eating here. Wanted a nice Fathers Day outing with family and it was just a disappointment from the start. Lots of food had ran out, they had obviously taken on far too many bookings and couldn’t handle them. The place seemed very run down and could do with a revamp. Even the plants pots outside were just growing weeds. The food was average. The beef was over done and cut very thick. Such a shame. Wish we had just stayed at home and cooked ourselves. What a disaster! I booked for Sunday Lunch on my own and specified that I would like to sit by the fire! On arrival the fire was not lit and I asked the manager if he could light it as I was cold! He said that it wasn’t cold and turned on his heels! On ordering I asked him what the soup of the day was, he didn’t know! I then asked him where to meat came from for the various roasts . He new the name of the butcher but couldn’t tell me if the lamb was English, the beef was Scottish or the pork local! I understand that the man was Portuguese! He reminded me of Manuel in Fawlty Tower but without the chaotic charm! 😂

Lovely cosy english country pub. Looking at the menu I didn't see any vegetarian options apart from starters but the staff couldn't have been more helpful and the chef offered me two different options. Both sounded lovely and the one I chose (sundired tomato and leek gnocchi) was absolutely delicious. I was blown away by the quality and flavour of this dish and how accommodating the staff were to my dietry needs. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there and if we are ever travelling to the area again, we will be sure to pop in.

Contrary to the earlier reviews we find the team here great and the Sunday carvery is tasty, home cooked and great value.

Great destination pub with a lovely family run atmosphere . Quality food cooked with a Gallic twist . Where else can you get a fab Crepe Suzette?

I had Lunch here yesterday with a group of girlfriends. The food was terrible, not much choice, the veg was over cooked, the meat was under cooked. The staff were rude. I certainly won’t be returning and will be advising people against it!

A beautiful restaurant where we were made to feel welcome on our early arrival taking drinks at the bar. Once at our table the staff were quick to come and take our order and offer more drinks. Our party of four for Sunday lunch were given bread and butter which was explained to us what type we had and this was very nice. We all choose the sharing starters which came out presented very fashionably but unfortunately the side plates that we requested, (the original ones from the bread had been removed) never arrived and it was difficult to cut and eat with two people over the platter. The mains arrived, one couple sharing the shoulder of lamb and the other having beef and chicken respectively. Personally i didn't think that beef and chicken should have not been on the same board due to cross contamination. The portions were very generous and were cooked to perfection, this could not be faulted and we were given 'doggy bags' for what was left of the huge lamb shoulder, (well enough for four people). The table was clearly not large enough for food and four people to sit at, this was evident as the staff moved everything to the centre of the table to make space and we had to request that empty dishes were removed to make more room. The plates were small and made the meal look squased once you had selected some of everything, including sides and Yorkshire pudding. The desserts were beautiful and presented with care and artistic intent, followed my coffee for all. We spent three and a half hours in the restaurant and were not rushed at all. The food was lovely and the chefs take care and attention in what the are serving for guests. The staff were kind and friendly but would have expected more from a two rosette establishments. We weren't offered for our coates to be taken which made it uncomfortable with them on the back of the chairs. One of the girls had an extremely short dress on, which when bending over, even though wearing tights was not a pleasant experience and quite unnecessary. Maybe something to bear in mind. Would we return, maybe. Like previously said, the food was wonderful, the ambience very nice and a lovely location, but you need to be aware of how overpriced some things were. Yes, we're are in a restaurant in Stratford, but did it need to be that expensive ...... a £40 bottle of wine with an average selling price of £14 ... £7 for a pint of Guinness and £14 for a basic cocktail. Finally the service charge of 12% which was £40 on the bill was rather excessive for the service received. Give it a go, but if you're on budget please take care with the surcharges, (not mentioned to us,) drinks prices and service charges.

Lovely friendly and cosy pub. Great selection of meals and beer, all fairly priced. Easily my favourite pub in Shipston.

Everything that a country pub with rooms should be! Open fire places, super friendly but professional staff and decent bedrooms. Exceptional food offer which thankfully goes well beyond the ubiquitous burger/fish&chips/sticky toffee pudding clichés. Excellent breakfast (with homemade marmalade!) Only issue was that the EV charger wasn’t working but they know that and are trying to fix it. As others have pointed out, bedrooms on the road side of the building are not the quietest so try to book accordingly.
