It is a very nice spot in the countryside, overlooking the river Severn. We were there for a family birthday. The service was very friendly and timely, despite it being a very busy bank holiday. There was a good range of beers. I had the Three Tuns pale ale, which was good, although I much prefer their best bitter. We ordered the Sea Bass, which was very tasty. But the meal was too haute cuisine, and was not nearly filling enough. The fish was good, but it was supported only by a small salad and 4 tiny boiled potatoes. It needed some proper potatoes and vegetables to support it. I have to say that when I got back home, I was still hungry and needed to have some pork pie and pickles to fill me up.

Great pub with a wonderful welcome. Nothing's too much and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Perfect stopping point for a light lunch or a full on evening meal.

Absolutely fantastic local pub. Great food .great draught beer, friendly atmosphere. All that a really great local pub/restaurant should be. Nothing is too much trouble for Hayley, Andrew and the staff. Great time guaranteed

Superb food and great service, far far above the usual pub fayre, but very reasonably priced. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection, and we can highly recommend the Caerphilly cheese and onion pie (£19) and the fillet steak (£34). Accompanying vegetables were fresh, beautifully cooked and plentiful. Sauces were superb. The Cross Keys offers proper, complete and balanced dishes. I am so sick of the gastropub trend for “small plates.” Why should the customer have to cobble a meal together from bits and pieces? There’s none of that here. The cocktails were lovely, and the wine list varied and interesting. We came on Friday night and the place had a lively buzz. You can’t fail to have a great evening.

Turkey was a bit fatty. Service was good but no mention of having to request bubble and squeak when you asked for carvery. Self service after meat choice.
