Went for Sunday lunch a carvery. Quite disappointed as potatoes were hard/ overcooked & lamb was very fatty! The broccoli was basically raw! Because of this I would not go again or recommend it to anyone looking for a nice Sunday carvery...

We were on Holiday in the area and this pud was not far from where we were staying so popped in on the way back from a day out it was very handy as they have food service all day. We had a meal, pudding and drinks. The food was lovely and hot well presented. My husband had the pie and I had the scampi for mains and sticky toffee pudding for after 😋The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed it so we went back again the following night We had the lamb shanks which were to die for so tender. Puddings were rhubarb crumble and Eton mass again these were delicious. The price was good . Lovely old country pub. Definitely would recommend a visit if you are in the area. They were putting up there ready for their Halloween events. They did have a Christmas tree in the porch to advertise their upcoming Christmas events. You could see how much they put in to making the pub welcoming at all times

First time here for Sunday lunch. Recommended to us for the excellent food. Great looking place from the outside, rubbish front door though. I may be a saddo, but you only ever get one first impression. Left into the restaurant and it's more like a cafe. I was expecting a country pub look and atmosphere. White walls, Modern wooden flooring and way too bright. Quite full which is a good thing mostly, and I like the well spaced tables. Sadly, the noise was awfully loud because of the bare walls and floors. I could hear everything from every table. So uncomfortably loud. The staff were brilliant. Professional, almost expert level and very attentive. They knew to ask to change wine glasses when swapping from red to white wine. Very impressive and rare. The food was awesome. Really top quality The chef is amazing. Worth more than the price we paid. If the restaurant was as nice a place to eat in as the quality of the staff and food, I'd give them an 8 out of 5!

Turkey was a bit fatty. Service was good but no mention of having to request bubble and squeak when you asked for carvery. Self service after meat choice.
