The best restaurants serving British food in Llanymynech Shropshire West Midlands

Our friends booked here as we wanted somewhere to grab some food before heading into Shrewsbury for a film. Location wise, it’s in a rural place, next to the holiday park. Parking wasn’t an issue as there were plenty of spaces. You head in and turn right to go to a hatch to explain you’ve booked and to be seated. Our table came with a time limit (we’d booked and there was another one for 2.5 hours later) but in the end they seated them somewhere else. The menu was really good and we all went up and ordered. The portions were a really good size - biggest battered fish we’ve ever seen with the fish and chips. We also had pudding which were good too. Overall, definitely worth visiting and it’s obviously rightly popular.

Lovely warm greeting, barman was so kind to my grandson, we will definitely be returning when we have more time for a meal.

We had a lovely meal at the Barley Mow. Really good food and great service. We have missed eating here, its so nice to be back.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. However, when we visited, the service missed the mark. The food was very slow in coming out and when it did, there was an error and the wrong dish came out. The party had finished their mains by the time the correct dish came out. It was a real shame, because the food itself was fantastic but the speed and error spoilt this visit. A real pity. They also charged full price for the experience which again was disappointing considering.

Turkey was a bit fatty. Service was good but no mention of having to request bubble and squeak when you asked for carvery. Self service after meat choice.
