Me and my partner have had such a lovely time at this pub. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. They offered to make me an omelette which was off menu as I’m gluten free which I really appreciated. The food was delicious! We had our toddler with us who throughly enjoyed running around in the garden playing with the vintage cars and the old tank. It was such a lovely environment for him to have play in and a lovely afternoon outing. The staff were very happy to host our bouncy toddler and we all felt very welcome. The pub itself was so cosy and warm, the decor was lovely and you can tell it’s very well looked after. Beautiful pub, we will be back xx

Awful food at extortionate prices. 21st birthday party spoilt. 1. By a stroppy young waitress who couldn't force a smile if she tried. Rude and snappy. 2.Fish goujons, over cooked, herbs burnt causing a taint, was there fish in there? 3. Batter on Haddock over cooked. Meal was described as a tiddler on a plate with 12 fries by diner. 4. Several of our party went for pulled pork burgers. Buns were soggy and disintegrated in front of you. Not sure if it was a BBQ sauce? Tepid in temperature and a great meal. 5.Drinks very expensive. £35- 38. For a bottle of Cote du Rhône. Retails at £11 . That's a mark up? Night partially saved by a lovely older lady waitressing due to the other girl leaving. 6. Small milk jug of cream with dessert charged at nearly £3. Overall,£400 wasted. 7. Awful background music all night, not appropriate. Ruined her family party.

Fantastic hosts and gorgeous room, great stay. We visited for a friends birthday party, they had hired the entire pub for the Saturday night so it was closed to the public. We had hired a bedroom for the night and from the time of arrival till we left we were made to feel so welcome. The room, room 4, was gorgeous, so tastefully decorated and had all you needed. We had a great night, the bar staff were amazing, they didn't stop all night, they had a smile on their faces all night and were so friendly. Would hightly recommend this place. Nicky goes out of her way to accomodate everyone with a constant smile on her face. First class Nicky. Xx

This used to be one of my favourite pubs but unfortunately I feel like it’s a totally different pub now. The energy wasn’t friendly when we walked in, it felt cold and stale. The lady behind the bar made me feel very unwelcome for bringing my toddler with me (it was 1pm on a Monday). The lady behind the bar seemed really on edge when my toddler was looking curiously at their trophy collection which they had left on a shelf half a metre from the ground, so very inviting for most children to look at being at such a child friendly and also accessible height. (I suggest moving it to a higher shelf if you don’t wish children or even animals to touch/look at them). The lady behind the bar impatiently rushed me and my partner into ordering our drinks and seemed extremely fed up when my partner asked to try one of the ciders. It felt like doing her job was a massive chore for her everything was a hassle and she’d much rather be some where else. We ended up drinking our drink quickly and leaving as we simply just didn’t want to be there after such a unfriendly and uncomfortable experience. We ended up going to the pub up the road called the Fox & Hounds which was so so lovely. The staff were so friendly warm and welcoming we sat talking to them for hours and our little one explored and played with the vintage cars they had in the garden. We also had some delicious food there which I rate highly. Such a shame I can’t say the same for the bell on the common.
