The best restaurants serving British food in Walkham West Devon South West

This place is focussed on good quality local steak which is a treat. The brownie to follow was also delicious.The service is good but the restaurant was cold and I noticed several people keeping their coats on. I think the boys who run it are a bit acclimated to Dartmoor! Both my dog and I were welcome.

We always come here when visiting family in Horrabridge. The food is excellent everytime👍

The last time we met with our friends we visited the Skylark for a Sunday roast and enjoyed a superb lunch in comfortable, friendly surroundings, so as we hadn't seen each other for quite a while we decided to opt for a gathering, once again at the Skylark Inn. A warm welcome for each of our party of six, promptly seated, drinks orders taken and menus handed out. Five of us chose a roast and one Cod, Chips and Peas. The meals were delivered to the table, piping hot - a warning being given for 'very hot plates' (which they were), each one of us commenting on the high standard of our meals. I love a traditional roast and the team at the Skylark certainly know how to plate up a good, hearty, tasty and traditional roast. Stuffed full, we had no room for dessert but the dessert menu was enticing to say the least. Sadly it appears the great British boozer is steadily disappearing what with increasing overheads and costs, so those who offer such fayre as a Sunday roast have to stay well on their game with both reasonable cost and a high standard of meals. The Skylark certainly ticks the boxes in that respect. Our thanks to the team for a most enjoyable and memorable lunch. Proper ansum

Rubbish under cocked chips batter Like concrete wast of money owner needs to go on a cooking corse needed a good chippy in the area but not this one. Shame
