Gastrobus has definitely gone downhill . Prices gone up - £11 for a mediochre hotdog . Pitta pocket with brisket not much better and more expensive . For two lunches with hot drinks it was over £30 . The breakfast menu looked better but the lunch menu options weren’t great . Shame as was good . Won’t be using again even though we’re regulars at bantham

Amazing palace with lots to see. We visited on a rainy day around Christmas time when there were musicians playing in designated rooms at designated time and were amazed! It was like place was brought to life. Definitely coming back to see the gardens. Plan about 3-4 hours to see everything.

Stumbled across this cafe and was pleasantly surprised. Prices are outrageously high considering it's just a cafe and eating their as a family is so expensive. We had x 3 cheese burgers, a single portion of chips, a latte, hot chocolate and can of water, which came to £45.03 😳 However, the burgers were delicious, the best we've ever tasted and oozed quality ingredients ditto for the chips and hot drinks. You are paying for quality ingredients delivered by a first class team in stunning surroundings. I'd highly recommend but be prepared

Arrived after an exhausting 7 hours on the M4. There was someone in reception after midnight who was very helpful. The caravans were new modern and clean. The whole park was clean and litter free. There was plenty for the children to do, although we did have some great weather which helped. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a great time!

Oh dear. What should be a lovely old characterful pub is clearly struggling under the current management. We arrived for a drink at 12.20 pm on a Sunday after a wet coastal walk, to find the door bolted but the lights on. The member of staff inside signalled that the pub wasn’t opened until the manager returned. This he did a few minutes later with a bag of logs and proceeded to light the fire and then left 5 minutes later, leaving his assistant in charge. The lad left behind sat on a bar stool yawning and was too young to serve a second pint. He was unsure whether or not food was being served for Sunday lunch. We were the only people inside, the bar area was dirty, the windows were dirty, the loos were filthy with overflowing bins; the whole place was sad and depressing. Let’s hope that new management with energy and enthusiasm can take over the pub and save this beautiful old pub from being closed permanently as it has so much potential, even in today’s tricky market.

We stayed in Mill Cottage just down the road from The Fishermen's Rest. We had an amazing time in the pub. We were made so welcome. The food was excellent and the staff were brilliant. A million thanks to Mark, Athenia, Libby and Chris for bringing us into their world. We will be back xxx
