Nice pub but food not great. Beef and lamb overcooked and possibly microwaved. Roasters fried. Staff very good however although I go for the food not the staff

A fabulous joint 50th birthday party…we had a wonderful evening. Great food with dietary needs met beautifully - attentive service and private dining for 11. A perfect evening. Thanks so much!

Enjoyed an authentic British pub lunch here on our first day in England on our drive to Bath. Perfect place to get us ready for our British adventure! Toasties and Guinness! It was very cozy and traditional inside. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was really good and reasonably priced. Toasties, we learned, are basically grilled cheese sandwiches but with modifications. This one included small bits of white onion and was really good with the fries! We also enjoyed their sister restaurant in Bath, the Pig and Fiddle in Bath which was also quite good but their Toasties had green scallions! Recommend both for a quick, tasty lunch!

We were a party of two adults with two babies and two young kids (aged 2-5) at 1.45/2pm on a very blustery Sunday. We'd been to the park nearby and decided to pop in for a quick drink to warm up. The pub is tricky to navigate with small children but we found a table. We ordered our drinks but when we asked what kids drinks they had they told us they didn't do kids drinks because it wasn't a pub for kids. The little ones were hungry and so we gave them some of the leftover lunches we had in our packs to keep them quiet whilst we waited. We did also order a bowl of chips but then had a member of staff loudly tell us that we couldn't bring our own food in and that they were an independent pub and lectured us on pub costs and rates. We pointed out we did order some chips and were told that was OK but from our perspective the damage was done. We were left feeling unwelcome and embarrassed. Any parent with small children knows how hard it is to keep small tummies full. We are local to the are and we won't be retuning.
