Personally I love their cheese and onion pasties, probably one of the best I have ever tasted, I also would like to say that their cakes are delicious- would really recommend a visit.

I went in after a 10 year absence, and it's still one of the best pubs I've ever been in. The landlord is friendly, the staff are lovely, the beers were good and the atmosphere was perfect. Anyone would feel safe and at home in there. I couldn't grade the food because I didn't order any.

Had a couple of hours to kill on Boxing Day evening so thought we’d have a pint in this pub. Sad to say it was a bit underwhelming. Walked into the main bar area, which is large. There were a few other people in there and a very disinterested young lad behind the bar. We sat by the woodburner which gave a bit of comfort in an otherwise sparse and unwelcoming room. There was a meagre Christmas tree in a corner and a single garland above the large fireplace. No one tended the woodburner during the 2 & 1/2 hours we were there and it started getting chilly so my husband stoked it and got it going again. There was a large screen TV on the wall so my husband was happy watching the football but, apart from that, there was apparently little to recommend this pub. The ladies’ loo was very shabby and somewhat neglected. The top of the bin and the loo brush holder were thick with dust and the doors were grubby.

Under new ownership. Now called Abbott's Way Bar and Grill. Excellent service with a fantastically decorated restaurant. Drinks were very reasonable and the food was of excellent quality.Fish and chips for mum were succulent and cooked to perfection as was my burger which used excellent quality meat. Desserts were light and refreshing as well. Huge credit to the chefs and bar staff for making my birthday meal and absolutely wonderful time. We will come again.

Absolutely love coming here for lunch or even just a cuppa and cake. I am coeliac so it’s hard to find places to eat where I feel safe and happy to eat and know there will not be ill effects. The jacket potatoes are done in a proper separate oven and the toppings are all separate and the salad toppings are all put onto the plate with individual tongs. It tastes delicious, great sized portions. They also do gluten feee bread and sometimes the soup is suitable for me as well. A massive bonus for me as a cake lover is there is always plenty of choice for a coeliac sweet tooth like me lol! The atmosphere there is always lovely the staff are so friendly and polite. Tim always has time to say hello always has a smile and remembers his customers! Clean environment, first class food what’s not to love! We will continue to be regulars!
