Friendly village pub with great beer & spirits selection. Sunday roast is excellent at a very good price, live music, quiz night, raffle and much more happens here. A firm favourite with the locals and visitors.

Great place to go for a drink, I personally think that dogs should be kept on a lead and not allowed to pester other pub/dog users. Mine was on her lead.

Great pub with an excellent Sunday roast, live music and a pub quiz! Only moved onto the area recently and seen a few negative reviews on here, but they must have breathed new life into the “oldest pub in Plymouth”. Highly recommended

For a Monday evening it was lovely, a lovely oldie worldie pub with a lovely atmospheres is a the landlord was very welcoming, had a chat with two customers about did and then with the landlord about completing toilets and canal life . He wanted to shut early as we were the only ones there, which suited us, the dogs loved the walk across the steam and into the meadow, we emptied the toilet and moved on. We will be back

The beautiful pub has been run down. Its time for a complete makeover. Keep the historical features, but give it a good clean, re vamp the conservatory, update the washrooms, scrub the yard and give it a more update dining experience. Food is good though and the staff friendly.

Good atmosphere in here, and it isn't going to break the bank. Only reason I gave the place 4 stars is due to the food. It is what you would expect from a little pub down the road. I feel it is mostly microwaved, this is fine if your wanting some quick grub, but the menu can be limited and it doesn't change, like ever.

When it arrived I could instantly tell the batter on the fish was very good, plus the size of the cod was also a good size. Have been a few times now. A very old building low ceilings beams, with history going back to Sir Francis Drake times!! Friendly local pub, staff very polite friendly to all, lots of local people and visitors. Log burners and open log fire, large outside area, partially covered, a large selection of various flavoured gins, a good selection of wines, good real ales with guest ales, usual lagers, bitters, beers. A completely new food menu, English traditional food on offer with a child's section. The portions are plentiful and Sunday roast is brill, best to book in advance. There is adequate parking available, a dart board, music box etc, Well worth a visit.

A friendly, welcoming place. Log burner in lounge and open log fires, A good selection of draught ales with guest beers. There is also a wide selection of gins available. The food menu is a typical village selection with a few extra options, all very well presented and plenty of it, , a very good value for money. A lot of locals and not so local use this pub, that tells you a lot! A large outside area with tables etc, for when the weather permits partially covered to protect those who wish to sit outside in all weathers. Darts, music box etc available. We'll worth a visit plenty of history attached to this building just ask.

Visitors came for a few days with their little dog, rang our usual pub for a meal, but no dogs allowed, only if you sit outside, so rang The Seven Stars, Tamerton and they said dogs were allowed in the bar area and reserved us a table. It was warm and cosy, there was a lovely atmosphere, and lots of dogs - all well behaved and quite entertaining. The meal was served piping hot and although no ham available, I chose another meal and was more than pleased. It is very reasonable and something for everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will certainly be visiting again, and its only down the road!!

Wonderful food, large portions and it was absolutely delicious. Friendly staff-when they're behind the bar and not out the back every 5 minutes. However, the total lack of atmosphere, hardly any furniture, absolutely not a single Christmas decoration up of any kind, plus it was freezing (we were all sat around in our coats!) lets the place down completely. Such a shame, could be so good in there!
