The best restaurants serving British food in Cliftonville East Thanet South East

Barring covid we always do a shared office party. Normally at the Winter Gardens in Margate, but with this now closed we opted for the golf course. We all make mistakes! Really simple things here... Arrive at 7 for food at 7.30 = starters rolled out at well past 8.30 and mains at 9.45. Desert was probably closer to 10.30. We were told that they had been caught out by how many attended, hard to believe as it is a ticketed event. For balance they did pop a bottle of Prosseco on the rable as an apology, for us this seemed a gesture, but the table next to us got 2 bottles between 17 people. I pre-ordered drinks for the table and was assured they would be at the table when we arrived = no drinks. (We were advised that unless we pre-paid no drinks would be provided, this seems fair, but I did offer to pay before the event and was told there was no need. A Christmas party with a disco = not one single Christmas song. The staff were excellent, but on the basis this was not no venues first Christmas party of the season, it was really poor.

Only does takeaway although can be eaten at outside tables. Limited menu and no toilets

My husband and I went in for coffees. We both left them on the table as it was too disgusting to drink. My cappuccino had an artificial saccharine taste and no coffee flavour whatsoever. It tasted like the cheap Poundland packets. It was watery, sugary, artificial tasting , cheap muck. My husband’s filter coffee was no better. It was watery and tasteless . Definitely won’t be back.

What an amazing afternoon tea enjoyed with friends at Taddy’s barn! We were made to feel like we were the only customers - tea and coffee topped up continually - the quality of the food knocks all other establishments offering afternoon tea to the sideline. Thank you Lee and crew for a great time 👍🥰

We have had the best breakfast ever the food was cooked fresh and perfect. A warm welcome from everyone in there and friendly atmosphere highly recommend it to everybody.
