What an amazing afternoon tea enjoyed with friends at Taddy’s barn! We were made to feel like we were the only customers - tea and coffee topped up continually - the quality of the food knocks all other establishments offering afternoon tea to the sideline. Thank you Lee and crew for a great time 👍🥰

So I took my mum here a few weeks ago for a fabulous afternoon tea. The place was not that busy. I decided to take a friend here for lunch yesterday. It was so busy and I don’t think they had enough staff on. We were waiting over 45 minutes before we got served 😏. And I just helped myself to drinks😒. The young girl serving was MISERABLE. No customer service skills there. I know they were busy but not acceptable really. But lunch was great and after I asked for a cup of tea. That was forgotten about by the young girl. Surly you can smile. I totally understand you were busy but maybe a bit more training in customer service. If I acted like that then I would be pulled up on it. I think the food there is great but not sure if I’ll be back as customer service just not good.

We visited as I read a reveiw on here about how nice and pleasant the staff were and how nice the food was unfortunately this was not the case as per our visit..as the sarcastic reply to an enquiry about if they did an egg salad was met with a reply similar to..I am not paying for an egg just to make a salad or not boiling an egg just for salad ... A pleasant and polite reply would have sufficed...so we just had tea and left ... There was a Birthday party that seemed to be more important ! We would have made it regular visits had it been inviting and the cook or chef had been pleasant so..never again...we left feeling that politeness costs nothing..and we could have had lunch and spent 30 quid...so their loss...and a bad taste left in out mouths...

Writing this on behalf of my grandmother who visited with her friends for an afternoon tea. When she asked the staff for some plates, she was given quite an unkind and sarcastic response. Quite disappointing that the owner would speak to a group of elderly women in this way. She understood that it was busy and people get stressed but it’s not okay to speak to paying customers that way.

Had ploughman's lunch. Looked lovely, but the salad was slimy and obviously past its sell by date, was promised warm crusty bread and got 3 slim slices of cold baguette and worst of all no pickled onions, or any onions for that natter, except for a few dried onion flakes over the salad.

Very rude staff. We popped in to use the toilet before going round the garden centre and going back in for lunch. I was informed that the toilet was for café customers only and even when I said we were going round the garden centre and then back in apparently this is the cafe and that is the garden centre! Even though both were on the same sign. He said there was a toilet in the garden centre but I didn’t find it! Needless to say we purchased plants and had lunch elsewhere! Is this the way to get custom?

18 friends visited Taddy's Barn for a celebratory Crea Tea. The Barn itself is cosy, but a good size space, a little quirky, clean and welcoming. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food (most importantly) was delicious, varied and plentiful. We all had a take home box! After everyone had eaten their fill! It was one of the best Cream Tea's I have been to and all under £19 per person! There were 4 people with dietary needs, including gluten free, and all were catered for. An excellent afternoon with an excellent not just Cream Tea but a High Tea, which I Highly recommend.

We were served by a scruffy man with 2 packs of cigarettes sticking out of his shirt pocket. There was music playing quite loudly and it kept losing connection, so was jumping like a scratched record. When the food was delivered my friend’s scrambled eggs were spilled all over the table. This was cleared up by the scruffy waiter and there was an apology. We decided to carry on with our breakfast which turned out to be an inspired decision as it didn’t occur to the waiter that the ruined breakfast should be replaced! When we finally asked what was being done about the ruined breakfast, he said “I’ll get it replaced now” . DON’T BOTHER WAS OUR REPLY! This was at least 20 minutes after the event! I have never in my life experienced such terrible service!

My fiancé and I visited Taddy’s Barn on my 50th birthday - although the gate and car park looked underwhelming everything changed when we entered the barn. It was warm and inviting with an eclectic mix of decor. The log burner was fired up and we chose to sit on the comfy sofa facing it as the day was a little grey and chilly. We had a wonderful welcome from the manager and ordered afternoon tea. Having had afternoon tea many times including at top restaurants we were really impressed by the presentation and content - quiche, sausage rolls, sandwiches, scones and cake! All with generous portions that would have fed four not just two. Both the food and surroundings were wonderful and the manager packed the leftovers up in doggy bags for us to take home (which fed a hungry teenager for snacks and a hearty lunch for me the following day!). Fabulous food in a lovely barn, great chats with the manager who clearly loves his work and excellent value for money.

Very old school.. not your sourdough and mung bean brigade 😄 good wholesome food which is very reasonably priced. Will definitely keep going... infact.. I'm thinking about it again now🤗

Taddy’s Tea Rooms has really grown since its new owner and cook Lee, took over. Nothing is ever too much trouble. All the staff are welcoming and friendly. Taddy’s has a homely feel to the whole place. I was driving Easter Sunday, when Lee rang me (hands-free) to advise I'd won a prize in his Pilgrim's Hospice charity Easter raffle. We'd actually been looking for somewhere to go, everything being closed. Quite by chance, I asked whether he was open, and surprisingly he was. Where else were we going to go? The tea-rooms had two larger groups in situ, one a lovely 86th birthday high tea. That looked smashing. Plus, several couples inside, and outside under the parasol-shaded benches too. I choose tea, as usual, from Lee's beautiful new blue and white teapot. Super. Enough to fill at least three to four mugs. My husband had the lovely tiffin, while I chose the new almond and orange cookie. At fifty pence, how could I go wrong? It was so good I went back for seconds. This is fast becoming my go-to place. To succeed, in my opinion, an eating establishment, needs great customer care, great food and great amenities. Taddy's has these in spades, and has the ability to become one of the most prominent quality tea-rooms in Thanet.

On the menu is egg on toast, english breakfast items etc. For lunch it's egg mayo, tuna mayo or cheese/ham in a sandwich, baguette or jacket potato. Omlette is an option too. That's most of what you'll see on the menu, which is fine of course if you enjoy such food. For myself I found the food to be poor quality. Cheap, tasteless supermarket square bread. Cheap tasteless side salad. I had a tomato cut up for my baby with me, brought from home, and it tasted fifty times better than the tomato served up at this establishment. I think the food needs to be sourced from elsewhere at a better quality, and more options are needed on the menu.

My girls was given colouring, gluing and sticking to keep themselves amused whilst the grown up had coffee and food. There was glitter and craft stuff everywhere and no once did the staff complain. Even refused to let me clear up after my girls. This is a brilliant place to come with the kids. So warm and welcoming, and they interact with the children as well as the adults. Think the adults have more fun with the craft stuff. Food wise is great, they cater for gluten free which made my visits easier, great prices. Can't wait to go back with the kids knowing I don't have to worry or stress that my kids will get bored or be moaned at for being kids and having fun.

Out first ever visit and we were impressed by what we had for lunch. We only chose a wrap and jacket potato, respectively, but both were beautifully presented, nicely done and very tasty. The restaurant was spotless and the service was excellent - staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

My husband and I went in for coffees. We both left them on the table as it was too disgusting to drink. My cappuccino had an artificial saccharine taste and no coffee flavour whatsoever. It tasted like the cheap Poundland packets. It was watery, sugary, artificial tasting , cheap muck. My husband’s filter coffee was no better. It was watery and tasteless . Definitely won’t be back.

For the first time my family felt being ignored because we did not wanted any drinks and only interested in food. For 40 minutes nobody came to take our food order although place got busy only 20minutes after we were sitting already (all new seated customers received their drinks). Ended up getting fish and chips take away from different place. Food on the menu looked promising but we left hungry. Do not like leaving negative reviews but after consulting the family, decided to share our experience.
