The best restaurants serving British food in Capel, Leigh and Newdigate Mole Valley South East

3 of us went for lunch and what a lovely time we had. We were greeted very warmly & took a seat in the cosy restaurant. Our drinks orders were taken quickly & then the lady came for our food requirements. Everything that we ate was delicious, well presented & extremely tasty. Afterwards we had tea & coffee & as the coffee machine was not working they were all complimentary, how kind. Our experience was totally relaxing, the ambience in the whole pub was so welcoming & the staff cannot do enough to help you. Absolutely superb, we were all very impressed and will be returning as soon as we can. Thank you to all the team, I very rarely say things were perfect, but this certainly was.

As usual our lovely place didn't disapoint scrambled eggs on granery toast very tasty plus my friend had a veggie breakfast very impressed with the quality ingredients lovely atmosphere with a warm fire place very welcoming

Though service was good, the food was piled up on the plate in one pile, the potatoes were hard and not freshly made ie reheated. The dessert had been heated too much and the bowls it came in had food on the outside of the bowl

I discovered this wonderful pub by chance, on a cold dark night while trying to find an elderly client (I am a domicile carer). I went in to ask directions and received such a wonderful welcome and assistance. Matt the manager immediately linked my mobile phone to their internet and then proceeded to search the address I couldn’t find. He was so kind and obviously was able to direct me to the location I needed. When I returned home my partner said on my next day off we would go for a meal, which we did today! Again, lovely warm welcome and clever personal touch by reserving our table with my name on a slate on the table. We enjoyed the leek, potato and cauliflower soup of the day and I had the superb sticky and oh so wonderful super tasty chicken wings to start. Terry then had a very generous portion of bangers (3) & mash with seasonal veg and gravy, and I had the minced beef and ale pie with mash, veg and gravy. So very good, we were both so sated that there was no room for pudding but there’s always next time! Extremely good value for money too coming to approx £35 each including drinks.
