After a long period of absence we went for drinks here on Christmas Eve. Not a single pump was working and a small bottle of Peroni and an equally small (and disgusting) bottle of Prosecco was charged at £10! The manager was overheard telling another punter that they were “running down the stock” which translates to “we’re going to be closing soon”. Such a shame - this used to be an amazing pub years ago. Mis-management has led to the state it is now in. Bring back the former owners.

Service was bad. We had to wait a long time to order then it was almost an hour before the food arrived. We had focaccia while we were waiting and this was just 2 tiny pieces of bread for £4. The main food was good but the waiting and being ignored by the staff put a dampener on the whole experience. This was a surprise for my partner for Valentine’s Day so the outcome was very disappointing.

It was ok and thought we had found a real gem, however…….very slim pickings on the menu, 2 of the 6 mains were sold out even at 6pm. So thank good for the specials board. The food good can’t fault that, but don’t have the steak if you like it blue as they won’t accommodate it. Staff were a real struggle though a lovely lad in there but the female side was just god awful. Did not make for a warm welcome and consistently reminded us that they needed the table at a certain time, (which believe you me, we knew already) practically ushered us from our seats, to which made us not want another drink in the bar area. Refused to serve my 22 year old daughter alcohol, even though she had a work lanyard to which they snuffed (hey ho their pub 🤷🏼‍♀️) but not great for her after hard shift on a Saturday!! So no rush at all to go back. Thankfully have found another pub 10 mins away which is just fab!!
