The best restaurants serving British food in Holker South Lakeland North West

Cold and smelled of dogs on arrival. Waited ages to be served and the waitress was more interested on who was at the bar rather than taking our table order for 10 people. Food was very salty and the steak pie in particular was terrible. Every meal as standard/basic or frozen style food. The whole place is run down and miserable. We went off trip advisor reviews as well on a visit to the area and wished we hadn’t. Go to The Pheasant Inn down the road at Allithwaite instead that was lovely food and fab service.

Birthday treat for my wife. Third visit to this amazing place and it never disappoints. The food is absolutely amazing and Lucy and the rest of the staff are so welcoming, friendly and thoroughly professional. Need to go more often, if you visit Grange and need food, head here, you won't be disappointed.

We stayed nearby and ate here one evening for the pop up pizza .. it was a good decision The location was lovely , the staff were really welcoming and the food good . Pizzas a bit too cheesy but great dough Maybe a veggie one other than plain would be a good idea for the future ..

Great food and service. But… Prices were a bit higher than expected. The only toilet is outside, the lock doesn’t work, there was no soap and it was dirty. Staff didn’t seem to care and said “oh”. But apart from the toilet issues it was good.

Lovely friendly pub with great food & nice helpful staff

We decided to get atake away “roast dinner meal deal” today , we got lamb and beef the meat was so tasty , the whole dinner was good, homemade Yorkshire puddings aswell .Couldn’t fault anything . In the meal deal you get two sticky toffee puddings and two cans of pop for £25 , the sticky toffee pudding was the best I have tasted ! I would definitely get another one .

A stunning little cafe set in the grounds of Holker Hall. We called in for a cuppa and sweet treats after spending the afternoon wandering around the grounds. We were lucky enough to have a glorious autumn day, so were able to sit out in the courtyard, which is beautiful. The staff were amazing, so friendly. The prices were good too, I was actually surprised at how reasonable it was, given the location. I had a pot of tea and shortbread, which was to die for! Such a wonderful little spot, it’s a must try when in the area.
