I love this place! I booked a tea party for my birthday. The table was set lovely with China plates, tea cups and saucers. Food was served on plate stands which was a great selection of sandwiches, pastries and cakes. I'm vegetarian, which was catered for and we finished with a scrummy cream tea consisting of scones, butter, jam and cream. Tea and coffee was plentiful and included in the price. We had a really enjoyable time. The staff are great and very attentive and had even put up birthday banners, which I thought was a lovely touch. I love the fact north perk cafe is a social enterprise and part of charity Ykids. Your money is helping disadvantaged children in the local area. There is always a happy, laidback, chatty vibe here. Worst food I've ever eaten, coffee too. Ordered breakfast, sausages deep fried, beans cold, bacon salty and torn apart hidden under decent hash browns and eggs with yolks broken. Plate rim's had been wiped but we're still smeared with oil/butter. Latte was basically warm milk, formed a scum on top after 3 mins, then again after removing, then again after drinking half. Staff were nice though. Except chef sat at the bar who has absolutely no business being anywhere near food.

We had a lovely Chicken Roast Dinner and the Sticky toffee pudding was to die for! The staff were also fabulous - very friendly x
