Visited here on a Friday lunch time. It is situated above a food hall near Rochdales outdoor market. There is a lift into “cafe” if you struggle with stairs. Parking is free in Rochdale centre on the town hall for a few hours and is a short walk. The menu is not extensive. There were specials on but most of which were sold out. The cakes, I believe , are home made and did look delicious. We both had a steak Canadian, a mocha and a coke. Mocha didn’t really taste of anything. Steak Canadians were basic with a small salad. Cost around £20. The place is beautiful, spacious, very clean and modern inside and very light which I liked a lot as I hate eating in dark places. Some interesting things on menu, and staff were ok. Toilets are down lots of steps. I hope they do well as a new small business in an up and coming town centre.

Nice setting, in the beautiful Town Hall, pleasant young staff, who weren’t very experienced, but did try hard. The food was sadly not the best. Small portions (chips / 6/8 small cuboids) served in a bowl that made it difficult to eat from. Pastry on cheese & onion pie too hard to eat. Dessert very average too. I feel they’ve tried to make it ‘chic’ but sadly I don’t think it’s worked. I’m happy to pay for something different, if it’s good quality & worth it. Unfortunately, this wasn’t. Parking was really difficult too, as I had my disabled mum with me & had to park a distance away. I hope they make some changes to make this new venture work. Until then I’ll not be going again. I’ve never written a bad review before, but hope the critique helps make things better. Having spoke to others since my visit, it would seem that they were of the same opinion.

Visiting the Touchstones Art Gallery we stopped for drinks and snacks. Good selection of teas, iced mocha was great and came in an interesting mason jar with a handle. Single use plastic straws were out of sync with a vegetarian menu. Good soup and bread and other dishes on other peoples tables looked good.
