My family and I ate here to celebrate Mother's Day for my mother. We were a party of 6. The food was very good. We all had a roast and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The desserts were also delicious. Two things: Firstly, we were sat by a window with the sun blazing in, and for two of us, it was absolutely boiling. There are no blinds or curtains on the windows to block the sun out, which was quite uncomfortable. Secondly, halfway through the meal there was live music playing which was so loud that we couldn't hear each other and had to shout across the table. This was extremely annoying and a pity as it was a Mother's Day celebration and it spoilt it for everyone. We asked Denys twice to ask the musician to please turn the amp down as we couldn't have a proper conversation, but nothing was done. This was very disappointing. The restaurant is quite expensive which is fine, but I at least expect to enjoy it without music blaring. It's not a pub. Perhaps the acoustics of the room are not suitable for an electric guitarist. Pity.

First time in this place and was told the pies are the best and I have to agree. They were wonderful , I had the chicken and bacon and my husband the steak and ale, unfortunately I had a starter beforehand and struggled to eat 3 quarters of the main sadly leaving some. The girls who served us were all friendly and helpful . Highly recommend to all.

With access through the Old corn Mill antiques centre, the Vintage Tea Room is beautifully clean, but has a rather spartan appearance; reminiscent of a works canteen. and lacks refinement in presentation. Our bacon sandwiches were well filled with delicious, well cooked bacon; but the two slices of bread should have been destined for 'doorstep' toast. Although fresh and of a decent texture and taste, the thickness of the bread tended to detract from the filling. Whilst we were asked if we would like any cutlery or sauces, we had to request a paper napkin. Appearances do matter, and it was a little off-putting to see a man, who we presumed be the cook, simply dressed in ordinary outdoor clothes, wandering around outside with tea towel over his shoulder. The staff were friendly and helpful; the menu interesting and quite extensive for a small establishment, and we are sure that other meals would be as well cooked and tasty as was our bacon filling. A little more attention to detail would make a huge difference. Oh yes - and the coffee was good.

My husband and I went to this venue on the 27.4.25. We ordered our food and drinks at the bar, the female bar worker was lovely. We waited quite some time for the food to arrive although the pub did not feel busy. My husband really enjoyed the pork tomahawk meal, I ordered the chicken flatbread, which was not very nice, the flatbread was dry and hard. We ordered drinks via the QR code, after 15 mins I went to the bar to ask about the drinks, the male male bar worker said the order was probably in the bin and it was likely him that threw it away. He asked what drinks I had ordered, I told him and he gave me the wrong drinks, I corrected him and he gave me the right drinks. Our table was never cleared and the plates were there when we left, the pub was not busy, so we were not sure why the table was not cleared. I feel the service we received was poor and I feel there is a lot that could be done to make this better. We will not return to this pub as the service was so poor.

Spent some quality family time celebrating mum's 80 th with her siblings. Michelle our sever could not have done more. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves and were encouraged to laugh as loud as wanted. And stay as long as we wanted. Very grateful for the service we received.
