Highfield Restaurant in Chorley

Went here for my 18'th birthday with my family, and it was wonderful. Sadly, there were a lot of noisy children running around, but despite the noise, it was a great service and had wonderful staff

Food service and price are all excellent.

I think they were under staffed but the food was awful , we usually come here as we have a big family and it has always accommodated us well but the food was terrible. I don't know what's happened. It really use to be good.

Food absolutely disgusting, dishes kept coming out without items, steaks were nothing but gristle and the fire alarm went off mid meal. Complained that starters were missing items and no apology given, were told kitchen were sure they’d sent it and had our table checked for the missing item! Staff didn’t come and check and couldn’t be found to complain about the mains. You ruined our son’s first birthday.

First time we been here and it was fab, we loved it, an the servers were so friendly and profesinal👍👍

Just been to this place but woi t be going again had had steak combo witch would have been OK if the chef hadn't laced it all with cracked black pepper that is not mentioned on the menu and ruined the meal . No one came to ask how the food was so after earing half of it gave up and left why is that chef's think everything has to be ruined with pepper if I wanted that I would have asked for it

Children's play area was freezing and only 1 staff member on bar who took food orders did coffees teas and drinks. Won't be going again till its changed

Nice place, and friendly attentive staff. Food was great, my only gripe (which is the same most places I go) was the pirti9n size for chips wasn't great. Other than that, if you're 8n the area and fancy a munch you can't go wrong.

Went in on a Sunday morning, go early because it gets busy unless you've booked. Kids love it but other people's children can be slightly feral. Food was OK, I did have food envy though because what my wife had looked loads better!

Extremely friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble, a really nice group of female staff including in the play centre

Honestly I must say today the staff went above and beyond for my beautiful step daughter who celebrated her birthday here with them lighting her candle & singing happy birthday even though we won't booked as a party group, honestly thank you from the bottom of mine & my husband heart, this is the 1st birthday he actually seen and had this special occasion with his daughter & you guys made it that little extra bit special. Will be back very soon, Mr&Mrs Hester

We went today 27/12/23 Our food was served timely and hot. I had rump steak, cooked medium, Mum had gammon, egg cooked hard yolk all cooked as we'd ordered. Children are welcome and they have a Fuzzy Eds play area. I would recommend a visit

Pub side was ok but the fuzzy Ed’s part was disgusting, absolutely stank, everything was sticky, chairs cracked and damaged. Had booked for a meal but you lost our custom as it felt too dirty to eat there.

We arrived at 12.00, our table was reserved online. We were told at this time that the gas was off and would be back on in 10 to 15 minutes. We sat down to read the menu and made our choices. We approached the desk to order only to be informed that we could only order the drinks and we would have to come back to order the food when the gas was back on. We had just decided that we were going to ask for a refund and leave but it turned up 1 hour 30 minutes after we arrived. We decided to eat the meal as some of us had to go back to work. Out of Six meals ordered 2 were stone cold and my mixed grills steak and gammon was so tough I took it back for my dogs. By this time we were late for work and just walked out. As a group we come to Highfield restaurant at least once a month but after this experience we will not be coming back. Also the restaurant was empty so there was no excuse for bad service.

Just spent the morning at breakfast with Santa, excellent experience all round. The food was great and the whole package is fantastic value for Money. Our boys Toby and Cody loved it, the staff made it extra special. Thank you so much.

Came for some lunch today and a visit to the Christmas markets, greeted and was able to reserve a table for when we had finished having a nosey at the stalls. Food was lovely, and also managed to have a free Christmas cocktail through the sizzling app which tasted fantastic!

First time the food was amazing all four of us had different meals and they were all great . The staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back .

Good venue to take children for a meal and play area. Seven adults and three children on a Saturday lunchtime. We were told when being seated there was a half hour wait for food, staff were hard working and friendly. Menu was good and the food was decent for the price, the sizzlers and burgers were tasty and plentiful. Must mention the staff again, must get praise, they were friendly and helpful seeing as how busy they were.

Visited the other day and I have to say this pub is a hidden gem. I have been before and each time the food has been above my expectations. The lunch time deal is extremely good value and the food is good quality. The use of fresh chillies is certainly a welcome addition! Excellent value for money, good quality food and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend the hunters chicken nachos 😋

What a lovely day! We called in as not been in a good while, and Vicky and Emma were sorting out Christmas Tree 🎄 the decorations . We had a lovely chat with them, and they were extremely helpful as I am on a stick ( stroke survivor!) and nothing was too much trouble for them. They're a credit to the company and we will be back soon, hopefully with a group of minis too hahaha 😆 thank you for looking after me and my hubby 😘 see you soon 😊

Fab family pub with helpful and friendly staff.

Customer service is a amazing here. Also food wasn't too bad but my lasagna was so hard and crispy in areas I just couldn't even eat it. Mac and cheese I enjoyed. The main area is nice and warm, Decor is good. The kids area is freezing and lifeless.

I came here to write a review about a lady called harley may who I met tonight, who was the most lovely and kind member of staff, she goes above and beyond, she has the most kind heart, and is a credit to the Highfield x

The service from the young waitress Olivia was excellent. She was kind towards me and my girlfriend, ready to answer any questions we had towards the menu. When the food came it was good presentation and tasted excellent. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, will definitely be coming back

Had a wonderful meal here, the food was lovely and very much value for money. The staff were most welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Calling out Olivia who is an exceptional member of staff, we will certainly be back and will highly recommend to friends.

Don’t bring your kids here if they have disabilities! Came for my sons birthday tea last night because all he wanted to do was play on the grabby machines. He has autism and adhd so isn’t quiet but not his fault. He was also running back and forth from our table to the machines like the rest of the kids in the restaurant was. It’s a family restaurant where there will be kids running around. The manager shouted over to me and me only, not the rest of the parents to keep him at the table. This was embarrassing as it caused all the other tables around us to stare. But I thought fair enough because I didn’t want him to cause an accident. However the looks that were fired to me as I was trying to keep him seated was disgusting and incredibly judgemental. We regularly come for tea here and never once had an issue. We were made to feel very uncomfortable by the manager who made a point of making sure to ask tables around us if they were enjoying their food but ignored our table. It was clear she had made her judgement about my son as being naughty and didn’t like our family as a whole. Completely unacceptable and total lack of disability awareness. The bar staff however, all know my son and took time out to wish him a happy birthday and always make us feel accepted. We won’t be coming back as the management clearly have zero tact or understanding about disabilities and how they affect people. We left before we finished our meals because my son had a meltdown because he had to stay seated for so long, yet other children were still running around. To the manager that was on last night, your rudeness and judgment was uncalled for and you need to do further training!

Our first visit here and we weren't disappointed. The food was extremely nice and prices also 👌. The building can serve a lot of people but you don't feel crowded by other tables. We'll definitely be back again. Would highly recommend. We went back again with children and everyone had a wonderful time. The only thing I would point out is the play area is quite dark and we had to order food and drinks from the main bar rather than the one in the play area, it would have been helpful if we could have used the nearest one. Everyone enjoyed their food. We will be back again.

Table was ready when we arrived, easy enough to order at the bar, not too long a delay to have the food brought to us. Food was of a standard expected at a pub, enjoyed by all the family.

Very child friendly. Food, pretty good for the price. It makes me wonder just how high the prices of some eating establishments really need to be.

Very good service and fairly priced

I booked the restaurant for a treat for my daughter's birthday. We were met by friendly staff and enjoyed a lovely meal together.

It was like walking into the pub from Shameless. The decor was depressing and dirty, none of the chairs or tables matched and if they did they were so worn out that you would dare not sit on them in case they broke. The atmosphere was dismal and the staff were miserable and looked unkempt. When we actually sat down and looked though the menu, even though there was a wide choice we decided to dine elsewhere as I could not be certain that the kitchens would look or be any cleaner than what was on show. You either need to spend a vast amount of money on a refit and restaffing or just knock it down.

Snuck out from work for a quick pint to visit here, enjoyed is so much I returned days later with the wife. Food though can be described as mediocre and could really do with a change. Beer was great and reasonably priced.

The steak was cooked right and kids eat for a £1.

A party of nine of us went to the Highfield last night. Very reasonable prices for excellent food. The service was excellent and the very friendly staff were excellent. All of this helped make our family get together very enjoyable.

Called here because the roads were so busy on the day we were travelling through . So glad we did . Lunch was very nice and relaxed . We will be back for sure.

Fantastic restaurant great service every thing laid on the table for us once the kids had played away. We had 7 kids with us and 5 adults just over £112 for food and drinks plus puddings for the kids .its a bargain place to dine in ..*****

Nice family meal food good and fast service

Arrived on time to a pre booked table where we had to wait for it to be setup which is ok, ordered drinks at the bar which seemed to take a lifetime. We eventually ordered our food which was an hour wait which is fair it was busy, to be greeted with what can only be described as poor, everything had bed cremated bland and soggy greasy onion rings. Was it worth it no, would i go back no, but maybe i just went there on a bad day.

I went in with my kids and had to clean my own table because I asked them 20 mins before I sat down. Absolute joke. If I wanted to clean up I would of stayed at home.

Food was excellent hot, had to wait a bit but there was a lot in the pub so can't complain will definitely call again coming from southport also not expensive breakfast looks good too. 5 STAR

Lovely fish and chips. Ate outside sat under umbrella for shade. Speedy service and very pleasant staff.

Not been here for a while. Like the fact there is an 'adult only' area, we always head here! Enjoying our meal until a family with young children came into the room. It wasn't particularly busy that there wasn't anywhere else to sit. We left as soon as we had finished eating. On saying that, the food was good 😊👍

I don't think much of the food. Last couple of times I've been I had steak,tough and chewy. Thought I would play safe this time and go for the gammon steak. It was horrible fatty and chewy. I won't be having anymore meals there.

Went for a child's birthday party in Fuzzy Ed's. The soft play area was tremendous fun for the kids, and adults of a particular persuasion. The staff were friendly and helpful. The birthday food for the children looked hot and tasty and was well balanced if said children could be made to eat it all. Food ordered by other customers looked really good and I was annoyed I wasn't partaking. The birthday cake was handled well and the pint I had was brilliant and welcome as I'd just filled my diesel with petrol for the second time in about 8 weeks.

Absolutely amazing staff. Pub wasn't open we were passing from bury to Preston for a football match and my daughter needed to use the facilities. The landlord opened the door let her in, made me a cuppa for the rest of the journey and even wished her well in her match!

Not been here for a while. Wasn't overly busy for a bank holiday Sunday. Ordered sizzling steaks for tea, very nice 👍 Sat in the adult only area, shame it was spoilt by a family with young children coming into this area. We left soon after.

Food is OK for the price in the adult menu. However, the kids menu my over 5 got less chips and veg then the under 5 meal. It was a very tiny portion and over cooked.

Come here often with my little boy but today might just be the last time, food arrived cold, our table wasn't ready that we had prebooked, then when we got our table it was dirty with bits of food and dirty plates, I had to clean it myself after asking staff twice, then had to wait half hour for our drinks because they ran out of plastic one's we was in fuzzy eds, our food arrived before our drinks there didn't seem to be any manager or supervisor on shift it was a complete shambles, dirty glasses and plates everywhere usually love coming here but this has put me off.
