I was driving on my way to Conwy and needed a comfort break and some lunch. What a lovely welcome I had ........ just genuine, not put on. The pub wasn't stylish (more old fashioned in a good way) but very comfortable. I had a fish finger baguette as they didn't have any sandwiches that I liked. Wow ........... !! It was so nicely presented and the side salad was all fresh and delicious. Chips too which I wasn't expecting. To be honest I couldn't manage all of it as there was such a lot. Excellent value that couldn't be beat!!

Great coffee shop/cafe. Breakfast rolls were incredible and the coffee excellent. Big selection of hot drinks, although had I seen the London Fog on the menu I would have had it! Some of the drinks displayed on the TV showing what I assume to be the menu were missing, including the dirty chai.

This was our third visit to Okells, and again, we were not disappointed. Even though it was quite busy, we found a table pretty quickly and then placed our order. The coffees came quite quickly, but the food order was a tad slow. However, the staff were busy rushing around and about, so I suppose that's just the way it goes sometimes. When the food arrived, we weren't disappointed, and we enjoyed 2 decent portions of quiche with salad and coleslaw. Only one small niggle..... the coleslaw was a bit salty for our taste. And if we have to be really picky, we would preferred our coffees after our meals. Maybe I should have told the staff of our preference?? Nevertheless, we enjoyed our meals and we'll be back again in a few months. Oh, and one more thing to mention....... most of the staff were very friendly, and helped us when we had questions to ask.

30/09/24: Popped in for breakfast with friends and the obligatory mooch around J&S. Full English breakfast and a mug of tea is value for money and can set you up for the day. The decor is nothing special, but as it's predominantly a bikers' café that's not what it's about. The tables are big enough and spaced out well enough to be comfortable with biker clobber on, but it can get a bit noisy when it's busy and, as it's popular, it does get busy, especially in biking season. There are some back issues of bike-related mags if you fancy a read during your visit, and there is some outside seating for when the sun puts in an appearance, but this is a bit tired and could use a refresh. Service is generally dependable, but can be variable and depends on who is on shift. We've always got what we ordered, but some of the staff have in the past been miserable or surly, which takes the edge off a generally good experience.
