The best restaurants serving British food in Davenham and Moulton Cheshire West and Chester North West

We were visiting the Anderton Boat Lift which is just 10 minutes down the towpath from The Moorings. As the coffee shop there was quite full after the boat trip we decided to try somewhere else close by. The Moorings is a little gem of a place, run by chefs, so expect hotel like presentation of excellent food, which is worth waiting for. This is a totally different dining experience from the usual canal side cafe. Dogs are allowed inside on the hard floor area, but we sat outside with ours as it was a beautiful day and we could admire the canal boats in the marina.

Impromptu visit midweek. Food was great, plentiful and well prepared. Excellent service, friendly and attentive staff. Grace was working her socks off, Jack is a real character!!

2 x fish, chips and curry. Excellent standard. Polite friendly service

Unfortunately it's a bit of a dump. Overpriced and poor quality. Urinal smells very strongly throughout the establishment.
