Not reviewed for years and always had a positive experience so here goes. Called in for pre dinner drinks last week. Lovely ambience as always. Served by a young chap, very friendly. Also, he made an excellent couple of Aperols in the happy hour, which we appreciated. Sat outside at the back, possibly the best 'beer garden' in the Macclesfield area. Big umbrellas with heaters, unfortunately required in mid August.

After a long walk, myself and my husband stopped at the Bulls Head one Saturday afternoon for a coffee and a scone. The establishment was lovely and the scone was delicious, however our time at the pub was ruined by the constant sound of thuds and bangs coming from the ceiling. We enquired as to what was making such a racket, and the waitress declared with a sigh “it’s the managers children. It goes on all day, everyday”. She seemed just as perturbed as us. Unfortunately, we were unable to relax and enjoy the ambience. It has put us off wanting to come back.

Some of the worst service i have ever experienced, extremely slow, long wait times the entire time, multiple different service staff instead of just the same one, asked for two small wines but instead they brought over two large wines, we had steaks but it was served without steak knives, for an 8oz sirloin steak and 4 cherry tomatoes it cost £36, £4 for a tiny sauce and £5 for a bowl of chips. Anytime we actually wanted something we had to flag someone down to take our order, just generally poor service. We got billed for the two large wines even though we got small ones eventually, also they added a gratuity which is absolutely hilarious, asked them to take it off. The couple next to us actually got up and left because the main took over an hour to arrive for them, i also witnessed the staff telling to fully comp two entire tables because of delays, and someone else also didnt pay for a starter because he said it was terrible. This was on a Tuesday evening, not even that busy. 100% never returning to this place.
