The best restaurants serving British food in Hitchin Bearton North Hertfordshire East of England

£10 for a jacket with cheese and beans and side salad, with a sprite, to take away. Would just about be ok if the actual jacket potato was delicious, but it was not. Was very hard and rushed, because it took 20 minutes of the 30 minutes I had to order, prepare and take away. Will not be going again.

Asked server if I could swap the rice for chips, was told by her I wanted extra chips, explained 3 times then she called another server over and said I wanted a curry I said I didn’t want chips and same again, cancelled order and was asked if I wanted the curry still very poor service won’t be eating here again

Fantastic service as always from Emma and lovely food. Highly recommend the fishcakes and the chicken platter shater.

A favourite local, staff are brilliant….. as for the roast potatoes and gravy after a Sunday bike ride…… that is bella!!

Waited an 1 and 45 minutes for my food. Food was soggy and cold

This has been our local for 10 years. We’ve seen a few changes during that time and have always supported it. Unfortunately it seems to have turned into a sports bar. I can understand this for the Euros and Olympics. However, last night there were 3 large TVs blaring with Sky Sports. The locals don’t want this. We’ll be finding a new local that cares about what their local customers want.
