Just stumbled apon this pub and it was pub and wasn’t disappointed! It was great to see a pub serving ‘proper pies’. Amazing food and service, I’ll be back soon! Thanks again everyone at the black bull.

Nice atmosphere with attentative staff, great food served well and timed efficiently. Whilst my husband and I have been before, we took my neice and her husband who have just moved into the area who were very impressed and plan to return for summers evening drinks and meal outside with their friends.

My wife and I went to Nottcutts yesterday for lunch and we both had 'hot' sandwiches. Very disappointed from our previous visit 2 years ago. The tuna melt had hardly any 'melt' and the tuna looked as though it had been scraped on and then off again. The cod goujons on brioche (most expensive item in this range) consisted of two small goujons on a bed of lettice, with tartare sauce. Only mildly better than the tuna disaster! The chips, however, were well cooked and tasty. My advice would be to avoid these two items from this range. We will be looking elsewhere for lunch in the future.

Went back to the Wheatsheaf having had two very nice meals there at the end of last year. Thought it was strange on arrival that the car park was as almost empty on a Friday night when it used to always be quite difficult to park. Anyways, went in and found only a few customers. The menu has changed and the service certainly has too. Not many staff and those that were seemed to have little direction or oversight. Food was mixed in quality and orders didn't actually match the menu for some reason. I actually felt embarrassed as I'd recommend The Wheatsheaf to our friends who were treating us that night. Such a shame it has changed so much in such a short time. Sorry to say I won't be going back...
