We had been for a walk earlier in the day and called in for a coffee. Unfortunately some customers have no idea what keeping 2m from others means. Staff intervened at one point to get the message through. It worked. Really nice flat whites and a muffin. We wandered around the garden centre and having been here several times before noted that the prices of plants are very high. Nothing’s changed. I never buy plants here as they are much cheaper at other garden centres. We did buy a few items from the shop as they do have some nice things about.

Although I say it's over priced, I do actually visit fairly often. We often take a walk over to Frosts to visit their café which offers a great range of refreshments and cakes etc all at a typical garden centre inflated price. However, I have never been disappointed or dissatisfied with the quality of the food and drinks served. The seating area is ample, it's always clean and tidy and there's a little play area for the kids, in the summer there's a fantastic sand pit in the garden which the little ones love, there's also plenty of outdoor seating too I've never actually bought anything from the garden centre... I did look at a hose once but it was 2x the price of amazon so I left it.Overall I can highly recommend the cafe, so long as you don't mind the prices. I will continue to visit, especially for the fancy Xmas hot chocolates and sausage rolls No photos this time I'm afraid.

Been having Sunday lunch at Frosts Brampton for quite a while. Used to recommend. Sadly the service and food choice has gone down hill. They just can’t cope with the Sunday Service. Staff just don’t seem to know what they are doing. Completely disorganised.Waited ages to be served. 1 person doing dinner, drinks and taking the money. Waited ages for our drinks so our dinner went cold. Child portion size for an adult Sunday dinner. We arrived at 1.30pm the other day and they had run out of the main meat, My husband got 2 sausages instead!! That’s a kids size. For me I used to get a nice side salad & coleslaw with my jacket potato.. last 2 times just a handful of lettuce leaves. Won’t be visiting again in the near future.

The title of this review just about says it all. Nice selection of fresh leafed teas and some of the cakes had me tempted to break my healthy eating push. I did resist, but only just! This is a big airey cafe area within a popular garden centre, but on a day with awful weather, it wasn't overly busy when I got there. However, spotting an empty table (and there were lots of empty ones) that wasn't piled high with dirty crockery was quite a feat. This gives an awful impression. Added to the painfully slow service, I. Old see that not much improvement has been made. Clearly the management need to look at staffing!

Nice Garden Centre and from what I accessed of the shop very nice. My wheelchair couldn't get into several areas due to displays being too close together. In particular children's toys and books, as being in holiday I was looking for a gift for my 4 year old grandson at home. Outside are mostly great but at one area where a large water creature was there was a thick hose that I couldn't get over to see the feature.. The one time I get a bit of independence in browsing in a shop where I manage to self propel myself.. I needed help which was most annoying and access issues were witnessed by other members of the public..which i felt embarrassing. After a browse through the Centre we had lunch in the Cafe which was nice except again access the way in was blocked by a table with a cake display on it so I had to try navigate between display and people waiting in queue for coffee and came I think. Cake display was situated under a window on a scorching got day in an area not refrigerated possibly poor choice of situation.

A friend & I called in here at the end of the day 4pm for a drink & cake. The restaurant/cafe is spotless and the staff at first were friendly but clueless when I asked about vegan options they really didn’t seem able to suggest any options other than muttering “ not sure “ eventually saying they would go and ask in the kitchen. The answer eventually came back as no and I was offered a naked bar which was frankly pathetic. One young member of the team thought it was amusing enough to mock the request for vegan options and thought it was some kind of joke! I was tempted to refer him to peta articles in the way animals are treated but I felt someone who demonstrated such ignorance for other people’s choices in food would be wasted. This young mans attitude really lets down the team here. People serving food in any establishment should have a basic knowledge of dietary options and be respectful of anyone’s choices regarding that choice. The garden centre is very nice and I would go back again and hopefully have a better experience.

HOwever I got some unusual petunias at Frosts and the plants were well cared for and you can get pretty well anything you want there in a convenient way.

After a good Sunday lunch here last week l was taken for a Father's Day treat today. However it was a disappointment, they were ten minutes into lunch service and had ran out of roast pork and roster potatoes, l would normally have had my second choice of chicken but it looked well underdone with pale skin, blood visible in the breast meat, on asking when the pork would be restocked along with the potatoes we were informed ten minutes for pork a couple of minutes for the potatoes. We opted to order the roast pork and wait the ten minutes or so, more than 30 minutes later our meals were served, l would have preferred some honesty from the serving staff as one of our group had finished his meal before ours had arrived, plus we had finished our drinks aswell. This has definitely put us off going again for a while or not going on a weekend as they cannot manage the surge in diners.

Visited Frosts of Brampton last week and was disgusted with the standard of food, and the standard of non cleanliness. My friend ordered a hot sausage roll which was dripping in fat and the pastry was not cooked. All the sliced cakes are dry and stale and the scones are like bullets not at all fresh. The restaurant was packed being half term so all the tables were in use, found a table and asked the staff to clean and clear away previous crockery etc but there was food all over the floor around the table and no one bothered to clean it. This is not the first time I have noticed the staleness of the cakes, the only thing I would anticipate having is toast. We frequently visit this venue for tea and cake, but on this particular occasion (it was Sunday lunchtime) decided to try the roast lamb carvery for a change. I had to point out to the server that my one mini slice of lamb was rather stingey as a portion before she checked out with someone else that it should be two slices, removed the one piece and replaced it with a bigger piece, that was about 20% fat ! The portions of vegetables seemed to be dictated by how much was left in each serving dish (it was only 12.30, so assume they weren't running out); so a tiny portion of broccoli and cauliflower and then 4 roast potatoes (and more if I hadn't said stop) as there were loads of those left. The lamb was rather tough ( I think it had been sitting on the hot counter too long) and the roast potatoes were so crisp it was almost impossible to cut into them. Having said that, there was a good range of vegetables and the price for a carvery was reasonable. Maybe we were just unfortunate with our server, but there needs to be enough training for all staff so meals are consistent.

Ideal place for breakfast or lunch. A choice of many different meals. Good for children with choice and quality. Only been in the winter but was still able to access the child friendly outside play house surrounded by all weather turf!

We only went for a coffee and a snack and decided on a scone as they looked yummy.I had a latte and my husband had an Americano. We both commented that the coffees were the best we had tasted. I usually only get coffee from Costa Coffee but Frosts beat them. We were served by a chap that knew what he was doing. He must have to make gorgeous coffee. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. There is several different types of area. Large one with tables for 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. And area that has just tables for two and a very soft seating area where if you don't want to line up in the main area you can just order tea, coffee, cake etc here. It's very light and airy, and has a welcoming feeling. Love it.

We live locally so often pop in for coffee and cake but rarely to eat a meal. I treated my adult son to lunch this week and had a lovely toasted panini which came with a nice side salad and a few crisps. Very nice.

Booked a Christmas Afternoon Tea as a treat for the children. Advised of Allergy on booking. On arrival I got the impression that we were not expected.Sandwiches, whilst nice, mainly consisted of Turkey and Cranberry with just one round of Ham Sandwiches, with no substitution for the "Cheese" sandwiches.Service was a bit slow and the staff did not know what all the items were, and towards the end most of the staff had disappeared or gone home, leaving a porter to finish off service. Took the edge of what should of been a nice day out.

My wife and I took our 6 year old Granddaughter to see Santa here today. Booking online was simple. It took us a while to locate the Grotto (note to Frosts - better signage maybe?) but once there we were most impressed. The Elves were superb with the kiddies and the fun started straight away. Pretty much restriction free (amazing nowadays), so there were plenty of photo-ops with the static and animatronic displays (very good btw). Some Xmas songs then it was off to mix up some reindeer food and for the little ones to be inducted as Reindeer Rangers. More singing then it was time for Santa who entertained with story telling. More photo-ops with Santa (no restrictions again despite the official photos) and more entertainment from the Elves (us grown-ups were offered mince pies). Finally it was off to choose a toy from a very good selection, having already been given 'Santa please stop here' sign. All in all a highly polished 45 minute experience where the staff ensured nobody got fidgety and that all the children were spoken to on several occasions. Superb vfm overall and highly recommended. Top job Frosts.

Have been to Frosts at Brampton a number of times for Breakfast, Coffee and Lunches. Went last Sunday morning for breakfast which is meant to be served until 11.30 am. At 11.15 am started queuing behind 4 couples wanting breakfasts, service was dreadfully slow and after 10 mins started my order with beans on toast and told was after that was served, when I tried to order 2 more breakfasts that I can't have what I wanted, they weren't doing any more bacon.I was asked what my drinks order was which I gave. I was then asked to pay before I received my drinks and the person on the till was then asking the person behind me to pay for his food and drinks which in order to do so he had to walk round me to do before I received my drinks. Why do that as he couldn't get his drinks until they finished making mine, so rude.I spoke to the person on the till quietly how disappointed I was with the service and the way in which she replied, she may have just as well said, I couldn't care less. Will never go back.

This has stayed closer to its garden centre roots than some which have become more like shopping malls. It feels a bit friendlier as a result. There is a wide range of garden and kitchen ware, which is generally high quality. The restaurant is a pleasant place for coffee, cakes and lunch. The staff are always pleasant, friendly and helpful. They have a range of seasonal activities for children such as decorating pumpkins and seeing Santa.

You have to pre book and pre pay for afternoon tea so I was pleased we had our own table specially dressed and reserved for the occasion. It was before xmas and we had xmas crackers which I thought was a nice touch. It was a lovely spread and plenty of choice. The only criticism I had was the sandwiches had started to go dry. We also had to ask for sugar for our tea and we had to ask for cream/jam for our scones, as these had been forgotten. All in all it was fantastic and well worth the money.

First of all if you are going there IGNORE the Google Maps pin - it is in the wrong place, and on the wrong side of the road too. It's entrance is 50 metres south of the corner of River Lane and 250 metres north of the Golf Course on Buckden Road. All day eating and drinking facility with appropriate food for the time of day. We were there when about 20 Lycra clad adults from a cycling club turned up so its clearly on the map - and rightly so. The food looked really good and was in decent proportions. Our coffees were excellent so we had a second serving.Comfy sofas and armchairs in one area close to the serving area with tables and chairs more liberally spread around further afield. Pleasant and quiet atmosphere with pastel decor throughout. Very enjoyable experience.

Arrived on a warm sunny day after a walk from Huntingdon along the Nene Valley Way.It has seravel serving areas depending on what type of food your after. There is seating outside, some under umbrellas. They also have a large covered sandpit for the young at heart. The food it's self is ok if not a little bit in the expensive side for whats on offer, but you do seam to get a good size plate of food.Although this is mainly a garden centre many people visit just to go to the restaurant. from the local area.

We needed to break our long journey from Kent to North Yorkshire, but did not fancy what was available on the roadside along the A14. Therefore we took a detour to this garden centre for some coffee and cake to keep us going. There was a reasonable selection of cakes despite it being a Monday, and we plumped for a jam and cream scone which was delicious. The lady serving could have been more helpful in that we did not realise that the butter was not on the platter and had to be added separately, but otherwise, we enjoyed being just a little further away from the main road in more of a country setting. The main meal menu looked really good and not over priced,, and the ambience was good with no invasive soundtrack. There was outside seating, and the inside was quite light,, airy and comfortable. It was a good choice, and we would go again.

We often meet here as a family and are always very pleased with the food and service but something seems to have gone badly awry. There were 5 of us and 3 of the meals were returned as inedible and extremely poor value. The gammon was too tough to get a knife through! All the meals were lukewarm and unappetising and the salad garnish was limp and so unattractive - and this was at 12 noon. How much worse would it get as lunch time wore on?To be fair the staff were great (especially Ben and General Manager Jeff) and changed the meals that were returned and refunded some of the money and the burrito was pronounced very nice second time around. Has something happened in the restaurant Brampton? Please try harder, we want to return but are just a little bit wary of doing so at the moment.

Often we will have brunch at Frosts and usually the food and service is very good. Unfortunately our latest visit was somewhat of a shock as the service was appalling and the food wasn't up to the usual standard. I watched as the waitress making the coffee struggled to get the drink in the cup and more landed in the saucer. Watching the whole scene unfold it seemed customers were treated like a burden. Really hoping there was an lack of experienced staff on this day and it's a one off!

We visited the garden centre for breakfast. The cafe was nice and clean but the rest of the service was disappointing. The breakfast was half the size and double the price to what you would normally expect and to charge almost £2 extra for a slice of toast was just over the top. The staff had no personality or manners and did not know how to say thank you. There is much better quality and value at other nearby garden centres. We will not be back.
