I had bought a wheel of tete de moine last Christmas, which The Cheese Plate had posted to me. It was great and I wanted another one this Christmas but this time I thought I'd drive up to Buntingford and see what else they have. Fortunately I was able to buy their last wheel of tete de moine, which, surprisingly, was the same price as last year! But they had some lovely other cheeses too - a spread of English, French, Swiss, Italian and Spanish I believe. The highlight was the creamy/gooey gorgonzola but I also bought a small pot of garlic jelly - something I hadn't seen before and an excellent morbier, far better than what's on offer in supermarkets.

Very disappointed after being highly rerecommend. 2 out of 5 starters unavailable. Fish had no taste batter soggy. Chips were frozen. Desert was a tiny piece of sticky toffee pudding definitely not homemade with custard bit tasteless. Even the coffee wasn't special. Definitely won't be returning.

This beautiful small restaurant which has retained all the original features sits in the middle of a small historic town. Its divided into three eating areas downstairs plus there is an upstairs section too that can also be used for private events. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was varied with a specials board in addition. The food top rate.

I found this charming little coffee shop quite by accident while driving through Buntingford. Given my penchant for cappuccino, the desire for a short stop was no surprise. I can recommend this shop wholeheartedly, especially if you enjoy the occasional sweets - I had the honey and bergamot cake with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely wonderful ❤️

Way back 40 years ago I was a regular Saturday night customer along with my then husband and step-daughter. Jon and his parents ran it and it was excellent. I moved away 19 years ago and came back to try it but the menu was poor and no different to a pub. I have not been back for years. However I returned this week and was not disappointed. My friend had the lamb tagine as she wanted a main meal and I had a jacket potato as I eat a main meal in the evening. Both excellent as was my decaff latte and my friend's G and T. We will return.
