It was an unplanned stop. It was raining. I needed a coffee. I went into the lovely place and was treated to smiles and laughter. I ordered a cappuccino and a slice of honey and bergamot cake, with vanilla ice cream. And absolute delight! If you're passing, drop in for a beverage.

I found this charming little coffee shop quite by accident while driving through Buntingford. Given my penchant for cappuccino, the desire for a short stop was no surprise. I can recommend this shop wholeheartedly, especially if you enjoy the occasional sweets - I had the honey and bergamot cake with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely wonderful ❤️

Hadn't been here before so didnt know whether it was table Service or order at the counter. When it was clear.that no-one was going to come to the table despite more than one member of staff standing around we wentnotlrder the food. No hi, what would you like, are youmready to order just a stare and and a look that she was doing me a favour by taking the order. Food took ages to arrive, had to ask the same person to clear away the plates due to how long they had been there and was met with the same bad attitude. Not sure if the owner is aware how bad the attitude is of some of the staff, but they are being let down and I'll NEVER go to this place again and never normally bother wasting my time but felt I had to in this case.

Avoid this place. unless you like bad service. slow service and very rude ( girl obviously has attitude problems) we had to ask for dirty/used plates to be removed and even then only half were taken away. no please, no thankyou. will never go there again.

First time in this coffee shop. No one acknowledged us when we came in, so we were unsure whether they take orders at the table or at the counter. Sat down looked at menu and ordered at counter. Girl was rude no please or thank you, didn’t have something we wanted to order and again no apology for this. Drinks came and waited ages for food, so drinks were cold and nearly finished by the time the food came. Empty plates left sitting on our table for ages, even though they weren’t busy. Had to ask them to be removed and they were taken away but purposely left one plate sitting there. Would never go back to this place, steer clear.

As others have said, service is a bit slow & disorganised, but I always thought that was part of the charm of the place. However today that disorganisation resulted in a much poorer experience: while making my coffee to go, I could see that the cup wasn’t centred under the espresso spout, so half was basically pouring down the side of the cup into the tray. The girl making it didn’t notice so I pointed it out, no big deal. I have to say, I assumed she would remake it, but no - she handed me a dirty cup that didn’t have the full two shots I asked for. I gave a rather incredulous look but she had turned away. In addition to this, while waiting another server poked at the marshmallows in a drink with her finger - very glad k hadn’t ordered that! The slight ditziness of this place used to be quite sweet, as it never resulted in the sloppiness and careless hygiene I saw today. I guess that is no longer the case, and I won’t be returning.

Coffee is good but poured into cold cups resulting in a tepid drink which is not helped by the premises being fairly cold. The food service is friendly but slow with sandwiches made with square supermarket bread.

Visited this place last week, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the coffee. The proprietor was very friendly and obliging, sadly he seemed to be hampered by an assistant who appeared to be a headless chicken, maybe it was her first day, anyway felt undeterred by that and on the whole a pleasant experience I would return in the future.

Avoid. Visited the shop for a Sunday morning breakfast, placed the order for 2 breakfasts, tea and a coffee took a seat at a table and waited for food, After well over half an hour we asked how much longer the food was going to be, we was asked what did we order, also just at that time the kitchen told us they had no order for breakfasts, so we asked for our money back and left hungry and very disappointed. I don't think there is training for handing someone 8 feet away a food order slip, Beyond help

I popped in for a coffee on the way through and Wow, was it strong! This is not necessarily a bad thing and it certainly gave me a kick, so job done. I was almost tempted to add a slice of cake as the ones on show looked very nice indeed. Sitting outside in the sun was really quite pleasant on a sunny day. It might be in the town centre but the road is a quiet one. So, a good experience.

I have been popping in here for a coffee for quite a while (indeed, you can look at my previous review on Tripadvisor). Recently, its previously high standards have seriously dropped. Insipid coffee, lattes served up as capuccino's by the "trick" of covering it with froth, and latest, coffee served in an unwashed cup. Pity, I shan't be back.

This was not our first visit and we returned because the coffee shop is a pleasant venue with comfortable spaces to sit and a large window to watch the world passing by.However, this time, as we entered, it felt really cold. Not in an unfriendly way, in an 'oh my goodness, there's a cold wind' kind of way. It was genuinely really chilly. We ordered drinks and one ciabatta with tuna and salad and one panini with chicken, bacon and avocado then found armchairs tucked around by the counter. It was so cold that I started by putting my coat over my lap but within five minutes I'd put my scarf on, followed by the coat and my hands and nose were still freezing! We moved to sit at a long table with bench seating and I could immediately feel the breeze not only from a tall fan standing in the window area but also from a fan above the door. Two ladies joined our table and within a few minutes, they too put on their coats. We asked the staff whether they could turn the fans off and they said that they had to stay on because of the condensation which forms on the glass. There has to be a better way than to leave your customers to wear their coats and even to turn them off for a while, would have been better than nothing. The food, when it arrived, was puzzling. Both orders turned out to be in ciabatta bread. This would be fine but I deliberately ordered panini for me because ciabatta is a more 'puffy' bread and I can't eat it. I was told that 'the ciabatta and panini are the same thing on the menu even though we know they are completely different things.'All in all, it was a disappointing visit. We wouldn't go back until there is some form of heating or at least no cold fans. Other customers were also cold. The ladies from our table, moved over to another and asked the gentleman sitting there if it was warmer on that side of the cafe. He was also wearing his coat and replied that it was freezing. This is a lovely cafe. It is not lovely if it is freezing cold.

We recently moved to the area and while larger than the village we came from, the high street is still fairly small compared to other places; so I was so happy to find we have a lovely little independent coffee shop nearby. It is tastefully decorated with the rustic charm that I particularly like, a sort of modern and country fusion if I’m correct. Reminds me a bit of Whole Foods...The staff have always been very friendly and welcoming when we’ve been there and on one occasion where my son didn’t like the unexpected fizz in a fresh apple juice product, they kindly let him replace it for free which I thought was a lovely thing to do.We haven’t had any meals there yet but we’ve had a few outings of great coffees, drinks and cakes which we’ve enjoyed every time. It is small so space is limited especially when they don’t have the curb-side seating in warmer temperatures.Things which would greatly add to the cafe are some allergy specific products. My son in particular has egg, peanut and sesame allergies so there is never a large choice of tea time things he can have out, but we find that some basic butter shortbread or egg-free cookies are always a good compromise for food allergy sufferers, and some simple cartons of fresh unfizzy juice.Still, we love our new, local coffee shop and there will be more visits to come.

We arrived toward the end of lunchtime and it was full, so we asked them to call us when a table became free and sure enough, they called soon thereafter by which time they cleaned, prep'd and reserved a table for the three of us. Inside, the whole layout is bright, clean and laid out in an "L" shape around the main Serving Counter from where Orders are placed, with the food served to your table. The menu offering comprises great breakfast options up until midday, then a range of Salads, Panini, Sandwiches, Soup and Jacket Tates, along with a great selections of Teas, Coffees and Cakes. This was only our second visit in 4 years as we don't live locally, but we sought it out while in the area after happy memories of our first experience. For me, this is just what a coffee shop should be - chunky wooden tables, comfy seats in the window, great coffee and delicious cakes. Our flat whites were so nice we went back for seconds, the kids were impressed with their frothy babycinos (55p) replete with copious mini marshmallows, there was a lovely choice of cakes and the toasted teacake came with an individual local butter, a nice touch. We didn't try any of the more substantial lunch-time food. There's also a dedicated section of baby food and snacks, I get the impression the cafe knows its customers' needs well. We'll definitely pop back in next time we're in the area, I just wish we lived nearer to try the advertised tapas evening.

Great freshly made quality food at a great price. Great setting..it's amazing that I can't now walk up the high street without going in for a coffee, cake and or lunch... Great little place.. Please don't tell anyone else about it as I want to be able to still get a seat when I turn up :0)

Just spent a quiet 3/4 of an hour with a coffee and a great slice of caramel shortcake. Nothing fancy; just good efficient service with a friendly atmosphere. Can't fault it.

Having parked right out side the double front glass full length windows in the disabled parking space my wife struggled into the front door on crutches. We looked around and the place was virtually full being quite small and not that many tables making because one side was reserved for a knitting club of some sort.As there was no seats and my wife having just had a total spine rebuild we asked the group if we could sit in two empty chairs at the end of the bank of tables to which the owner rushed over and said no you can't I'm sorry they need those seats, I was amazed as the state of my wife seemed to be oblivious to him.I used this place every time I am in Buntingford but in future will give it a wide birth, so disappointing and uncharitable. Shame on you!

Fantastic coffee, lots of cake choices and hot food/salad options. Lovely staff, nice and cosy. Outside seating available - sometimes do "Book club" sessions in the evening, worth a visit.

I used to visit a lot, but due to a change in circumstances I hadn't been for some time. We popped in for a quick bite for lunch. Enjoyed nice fresh sandwiches with plenty of filling. Would have had one of the fine looking cakes, but was full. Always find the standards to be consistently good, with a few interesting choice of fillings. Enjoyed the comfy faux leather bucket seats in the window. The huge double front windows, make a great light shop and great for people spotting while enjoying a coffee. We had 2 sandwhiches and 2 mugs of cappuccinos was £17, which is average. I personally would have mark this as good as apposed to very good, but the next down is average and I didn't think that that was appropriate.

We have visited this venue many times. We have found the menu to be very comprehensive and enjoyed many of the various dishes on offer with no complaints, hot, delicious and competitively priced. The staff are wonderful, chatty, friendly, helpful & nothing is too much trouble. We have taken our sons, wives and grandchildren, they too have enjoyed the quality of the food with a great choice for the little ones. I highly recommend this venue for either a quick bite, when passing through or for a delicious Sunday roast.

Picked Rosey Lea because it has kerb appeal and there was a pretty terrace to enjoy the last of the summer. Had a simple lunch of baked potato and a glass of wine which came to £17.45. The spud was OK and came with a decent amount of salad. However, for that money I want a big, fluffy and really hot potato where the cheese is happily melting in to the mix. The one I had was warmish and smallish. Service was friendly but on the slow side.

Although my previous visit was some while ago, this beautifully-maintained venue has not changed. The environment, the service, and the food on my recent visit was as good as ever.
