It's a shame this lovely little venue is still closed down even now covid regulations have lifted but fortunately they still do food takeaway /delivery. I couldn't find the menu online to see what they offer, but I was able to call and as it was Sunday order the Sunday roast. This is available as a small or large, which is a nice option, as I personally prefer a smaller portion. I did ask if they had a vegan option , which they didn't but as a one off I had the vegetarian nut roast and was able ask for it without the Yorkshire or cauliflower cheese. Even as a small portion , it was really generous and had lots of vegetables, which makes me happy. Would certainly order from here again and even more so I look forward to this venue opening its doors hopefully soon, so I can enter the venue for food and drinks .

What a pleasant discovery! Popped in for a cappuccino and scone whilst waiting for car service and found really excellent quality. The scone was spot-on perfect and the cappuccino looked and tasted wonderful. Will be back soon with our pooches.

Stopped off here on our way back from Norwich on a university visit. Restaurant had just closed for lunch service but food in the bar was available. Everything from the main menu except the carvery was available. Fabulous! Steak Hogie, Lasagne with garlic ciabatta, and Katsu Curry. All good healthy size portions. Just what we needed. Great service. Wish it was closer to home to visit again. Thanks.

It was probably my first visit to a UK pub or restaurant in over 20 years & also in my 1970s home village. Table booked by a Norfolk friend, purely based on Google recommendation, to follow a burial service in village church. It was midday Wednesday & only two people, so booking was not necessary. Entire experience was 1st class. Ver friendly, just right degree of service perfectly judging the time but also very honest on recommendations for food & drink, both of which were excellent & for reasonable prices. After the meal, invited to sit in the comfortable sofas around the fire next to the bar. Being a quiet, mid-week day, which though suited us well, I can't judge the atmosphere too well, but having been taken on a quick tour of the building, I can imagine it's a fabulous place when full of life. Highly recommended & big Dankeschön for brightening up an otherwise sombre day. Maybe I'll be back next year to try out the Biergarten! Prost🍺

I like old hotel buildings with character and this fitted perfectly overlooking the beautiful church. A little dated in the main areas (toilets could do with a redec) but that keeps with the 16th century atmosphere. The single room was modern, clean with the bed being a little too soft for my liking but I slept ok. Shower was modern although one drawback was it wasn’t a power shower and it had a somewhat weak waterflow with hot water taking some time to come through. The TV was somewhat dated but it worked ok. Room made up each day I was there (3 days) and tea/coffee/biscuits replenished. Breakfast selection was ok and I did not have any cooked offerings but could do with a little extra selection. One draw back here was the butter portions were rock hard so could not spread on toast. Short time window for dinner 7-8.30pm and a bit late for me and no dinners served Sunday either. Parking was a little tricky with space for 3 or 4 cars depending on size but on road parking 6pm-8am (free and time restricted) suited my circumstances.
